I would love to see the Daemons list but without Fate and in her place a Khorne Herald for the Juggurnauts and a unit of Seekers.

I could drop Fatey, though I'm not a big fan of the Khorne Herald on juggie. Sadly, Seekers are one of the units that I don't have. I suppose I could proxy a large unit with flesh hounds and IG rough riders. What do you think of this list?

Herald of Khorne - Juggernaut, Icon - 130
Masque

5x Bloodcrushers
6x Fiends
8x Flamers of Tzeentch - 184

5x Pink Horrors - Bolt, Changeling
5x Pink Horrors - Bolt
5x Plaguebearers
5x Plaguebearers

15x Seekers - 255
7x Screamers of Tzeentch
7x Screamers of Tzeentch

1744

My concern here is that without Fatey's protection, this list isn't nearly as resilient. Also, my poor anti-air with my Fatey-list has actually gotten worse with this modified list (not that it's a huge difference).

I voted Nids but I'd love to see what you could do with a Monster Mash list. Something like 2 Flyrants, Tervi, and some Trygons/Carnifexes

Sounds kind of like my old tyranid list. Something like this?

Flyrant - twin-dakkas, Hive Commander
Flyrant - twin-dakkas

Doom - Spore

Tervigon - AG, TS, 3x Powers
11x Gants
Tervigon - AG, TS, 3x Powers
10x Gants

16x Gargoyles - AG, TS

Trygon - TS
Trygon - TS

1748

IMO it's not quite as balanced as my biovore list, but it will really wreck house against an army unprepared to deal with that many MC's. Still a decent list that's just a little bit more matchup-prone than my original list.

If you're going to run a Herald on a Juggernaught it should have Unholy Might and Fury of Khorne so the CrusherStar has a chance to hurt walkers in melee. It can save your bacon.

Personally I'd love to see an non-Typhus CSM list (I never liked plague zombies lol).

I'd like to see if someone else can replicate the results I'm seeing with a ML3 Sorcerer on a Bike (in a bike squad) with rulebook powers and a familiar. Go T6 bikes with Endurance or Invisibility!

Ok, I'll swap out his Icon if I run this configuration....assuming daemons get selected....which isn't looking too likely at this point.

Another unit which I would have to proxy. Don't currently own any chaos bikers, though I proxied with my nob bikers the last (and only) time I ever used them.

Perhaps you can provide a chaos biker list which you think is good.

Ah, been on both sides of the fence on that one:

10/28/12 - The NecroNid Wars III - 2K Hive Fleet Pandora (Tyranids) vs Janthkin's Balanced Necrons

07/06/12 - 1st 6th Ed. Battle - 1999 Wraithwing Tesla Crons vs Janthkin's Tyranids

But so far, nids are in the lead. If Janthkin shows up with his crons, then we may just have a rematch.

I used to run Draigowing and Purifiers, but currently I'm rather enjoying my foot-list Striker grey knights. After playing mech for so long (most of 5th), foot armies are like a breath of fresh air to me.

Currently, I'm not doing too much with my knights but after the BAO, I will probably start using them again. My goal? To make my Crowe-purifiers work again in this edition.

I voted GK Horde but I'd like to see either that or the SW Horde vs. a Flyer heavy army like Necron Air Force or Daemon Flying Circus.

Do you think your lists are indicative of some of the lists that will be at BAO? I'm having a helluva time trying to decide on what to bring! I'm using a hybrid of my old GK lists now and plan to test it at a local tourney in a week and a half. I too am trying to get Purifiers to work again.

Currently i'm trying to build something working with the grey knights but not to succesfull yet, you would have a start list for the Crowe purifiers. I could play some test games to and share experiences, helping the evolution of a working list.

Wow, it's a close race between my bugs, CSM and the grey knights. It could be any of those armies come game day.

The daemon flying circus is actually easier to face IMO than the NAF. That's because you can ground the monsters and then shoot them to death, especially with 14 missiles in the army. The problem with the daemon flying circus is that it doesn't put out enough volume of offense. Unless they balance out the army with flamers and screamers and other offensive units, they will have problems with horde armies like orks, bugs and even horde ATSKNF marines.

At the BAO, just like with any of the larger tournaments, you better believe you will see lists like these....and probably even worse. I haven't even really scratched the surface of allies yet. There are combos out there that even I haven't thought of. But I would say that is just a small minority of the tournament players. IMO most players will be bringing casual lists and many will also bring what they perceive to be good lists but what good players will probably perceive as not-so-good. The extreme lists like daemon screamer/flamer-spam, the necron air force and wraith-spam necrons just to name a few will probably be less than 10% of the participants (just a guessimate).

Sure. If you ever want to discuss about lists or if you just want my input on a particular list, just PM me and I will take a look.

BTW, how did you do in your tournament/campaign?

The Necron list is a common one seen but just wondering why youve included the GK and what you think they bring to the crons? Just as i think the Cron list is pretty nails without allies.

The dread knight is just balls down hard to kill, additonally it will fry anything in cover you dont want to use your barges on.
Secondly it is also fast moving and keeps up speed with the wraiths and barges.

The 5 grey knights and inquisitor are good at camping an objective and offer another 4 S7 shots.
They are also a small 12" radius deamons wont teleport in when i'm up against them.

IMO each army - necrons and the grey knights - is self-sufficient. If you take take allies, I feel it is more for "flavor" rather than for actual need. However, there are 2 instances where I would like allies for either necrons or the grey knights.

For the crons, I would like to ally in a Runes of Warding farseer for some psychic protection. Too bad I can't.

For the knights, I see necron night scythes as a good complement for a Draigowing build, who traditionally is a very slow army.

You could take a runepriest for the 4+ dispel that is imho much better than the seer

I haven't touched my space marines in a long time. I used to run a Shrike Ravenguard army that was terminator-heavy, but now that Fleet no long does what it used to, I may have to rethink my SM list. I've also ran Vulkan, Lysander and Pedro before as well. Will have to work on a SM list probably for a future battle report.

Good to see you back at dakka again. School must've been real busy. Anyways, if you have time during your winter break, maybe we can get a game in. Then I will personally show you the new CSM in action. But for my next battle report, it's looking more and more like I'll be bringing my GK's.

Nah. He's too slow for such a fast army. What I like is a farseer on jetbike. Fast, highly mobile and his psychic defense extends to the whole board. If I can't take him, then I won't take any psychic defense at all...which pretty much means that my crons will be psychically helpless.
