So, I'm going to give a WIP shot, but I've got a bit of a problem. My model is very black with dark red highlights, and the dark-on-dark doesn't show up well on the picture (it does in person, though). I can never seem to get enough light with just the sun and my gopro. Any suggestions?

use a white back drop. If you dont provide a wip it wont be judged.

How about also trying a homemade lightbox, something like the pic in this link shows - just a cardboard box, some table lights and white paper / fabric

I'm afraid I spent today watching Rugby (Six Nations - great wins for England and Ireland), reorganising my various bitz boxes and then watching Dredd on DVD (awesome film BTW). Still need to do final touches and finsihed pics - but it will be done before the deadline... promise...

Need to get my hero finished soon though so i can move on to my entry in the Vehicle comp - which needs to be done by mid-march! It's actually quite refreshing working to a deadline...

Here's a WIP shot!
So, I still have to do the base, but the plan is to model some fire on there and try some neat things with OSL. Wish me luck!
