Our worlds are destroyed. Uncountable numbers of our kin are dead, victims of the Great Devourer. Yet our people still live, our wills unbroken, our thirst for vengeance bottomless. Some among the Imperium say that we are but beggars, refugees, and homeless vagrants. They say that because we are merely "attached" to a "human" Imperial Guard regiment, that we are little more than mutant cannon fodder. What care we for their taunts? With the help of our allies we shall carry war to our enemies.
---Lord Major Watterforte

Vengeance for our kin!
Vengeance for our homes!
Til the last of our enemies lies dead!
---Captain "Ironfist" Stropkin

For organizational purposes the 47th Abhuman Vengeance Battalion is hereby attached to the 212th Dinbao Anti-Tank Regiment. Ratling and Ogryn elements belonging to the parent unit are hereby reassigned to the 47th for administrative reasons (but are not pictured below). Armor, artillery, reconnaissance, and logistical support to be provided by parent unit such time as the 47th can be independently equipped.
---Segmentum Command

Lord Major Watterforte, leader of the 47th AVB, Chief of the Hearthguard, and Defender of the Clan...

Captain "Ironfist" Stropkin, assault commander and second in command of 47th AVB.

Lieutenant Tompkins, Master of Ordinance...

Primaris-Ancient Goldhall is the only psychic asset currently assigned to the 47th.

In combat zones, leadership elements of the 47th AVB are usually mounted in Chimeras and defended by melta-equipped retinues...

Lieutenant Kettleworthy, leader of "P" platoon. Although archaic in appearance his Mk7 Combat Helmet contains advanced scanning and communications electronics...

Elements of "P" Platoon...

Platoon Commissar Greenburrough, attached to "A" Platoon...

Lieutenant Burnederry, leader of "A" Platoon. Lt. Burnederry is permitted to carry a non-sanctioned warbanner as he employed it to slay the genestealer whose skull that now adorns it. Ork skull is of more recent vintage...

Elements of "A" Platoon...

Lieutenant Stonebridge, commander of heavy weapons platoon...

Heavy weapons team defending it's position until casualties can be evacuated...

Heavy weapons team (note Squat Tunnel Hound squad mascot)...

Trooper Hardtooth KIA while supporting heavy weapons team...

Hearthguard veteran with plasma rifle. Note sensor vanes built into Mk4 Combat Helmet...

Trooper Broadmoore, plasma gunner. Multiple confirmed Tyranid Warrior kills. Psychiatric status: Questionable.

Sergeant Maarbowh, ambush specialist. Note bomb-hound fitted with demolition charge...

Thanks for viewing! Constructive criticism welcome.

Great job always love seeing the old school stuff. Old school seemed to have better fluff cause you always had to explain the weird stuff. Way to go.

Glorious Squats! So jealous you had those still lying around. Nice work too. GW seriously needs to re-make the Squats (screw the fluff that the Tyranids wiped them out, as if). I would be happy with them being done as a small unit you can attach to an IG force if nothing else, but oh what amazing war machines they could make if they re-created them as a stand alone army. Thanks for the nostalgia, and good job.

Great army. Love all the character. Marbo stand-in is excellent.

You've done an amazing job bringing the Squats to life. The heavy weapons bases are well done and characterful.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

Great work mate, a lot of good stuff here and pricey with all those originals yeh.

Inspirational, i would suggest tamiya gloss red with a brown swirled in it for the blood on your HWT bases but great non the less.

Good to see other squat armies out there.

Thanks for all of the kind comments!

I got these models a few months ago from a guy on Craigslist for a very reasonable price. Still have 30 or so plastic and 10 or so metal minis I need to figure out what to do with. Fun times. Also need to decide if I'm going to get new vehicles for them or just split vehicles off from my main IG army.

Any suggestions about that? What vehicles are "squatty", do you guys think? I know back in the day they were really artillery based, so any of the artillery. Other than that, Demolishers or Eradicators maybe? I suppose I could build some sort of Termite as a counts-as Chimera but that's way more work than I'm willing to put into it. They used to use those gigantic tracked fortress trains, maybe mock up a bastion to seem similar? Mmm, also probably more work than I'm willing. Ironically these guys are too physically short to see over an Aegis line. Very amusing, that.

I am a curious sort. Would you be willing to define "reasonable price?" That seems to be a term with a huge degree of latitude in the wargaming community. I really like the work you did with these, but I would be more impressed if I found out you got them for super cheap. (Or super expensive.)

Welcome to the Freakshow!

Paid around $2 per model. Breakdown was around 80% plastic, 20% metal. Was also a great model breakdown from an IG point of view, very few models I didn't need (such as egg terminators, bikes, trikes, etc). Fancy heavy weapons bases, kit-bashed special weapons, etc, were not part of the transaction.

Ordinarily I'd buy at the LGS over Craigslist but it's not like the LGS sells squats, after all.

Starting a Crusade of Fire campaign tomorrow at the FLGS so hopefully the lads can conquer themselves a new homeworld.

I'm planning to use these handy Ramshackle Boring Machines as Termites, using the Hades Breaching Drills rules...

I wouldn't see a problem with it as long as you declared before the start of a game that for LOS and targeting purposes the models were counted as normal IG Height and have a cadian model handy for any eventuating arguments.

For your chimeara transports i was looking at using the ramshackle truck model and put some dwarf icons on it, so you could do that.

It was a joke! Recalibrate your Humour Regulator! ;-) I'm a huge Squat fan and had squillions of these plastics back in the day. And a MASSIVE Epic force too, back in the days it was called Space Marine.
