I'm sorry if this has already been brought up. but I'm curious what is considered a "boltgun" for the purpose of the Devastation (( AKA the salvo)) banner?

Is it just the normal rapid fire boltgun use by everyone, or all weapons under the "boltgun" listing in the BRB?

I like to say I have two armies: Necrons, and Imperium.....

what exactly does the "mortis" do? Is it the same as the forge world one with skyfire and interceptor if it doesn't move?

The mortis dread was originally a DA exclusive from forgeworld, it was essentially the only major ranged dreadnought, as before then they could only take multi-melta as range. It granted dual missiles, heavy bolters, or AC.

Come 5th however, C:SM got the ability to dual wield AC, and thus DA raged at everyone getting what used to be originally made for them.

So why is librarian so insanely cheap? What I've seen librarian has been the most popular HQ choice in marine armies for a while at hundred points. Why it needed hagu price drop?

Ok so I just finished playing a rave wing army and over all it was pretty balanced nothing overly special about it. Few questions though, is there some piece of war gear, special rule or warlord trait that allows re-rolls of Leadership or Morale tests? And which one doesn't allow re rolls of?

My guess is they are expecting you to buy another power.
Unlike the C:SM libby, they only get 1 power stock from their discipline of choice.

Edit : Thats why the CSM sorcerer is so butch. He even gets extra levels for 25 points a pop.

Their pretty boss, and the other HQs also got better/cheaper as well. The DA captain is 10% cheaper, for example.

Read the codex last night and it was nowhere near as gross as the rumours. Sadly I expect it will spawn a load of Deathwing Knight spam armies with identi-kit loadouts, like Draigowing with the GK. It is an SM codex with add-ons in effect, nothing too OP for my money. The key thing about Deathwing Knights is that they only have 1W and so are not as survivable as GK paladins. With all those termie saves a 2W model is massively survivable, it is unlikely to fail too many 2+ saves in a row and will usually get to cc, whereas a 1W model is not as likely. IIRC paladins are 5pts more per model so for me that 1W is preferable to the natty new mace, etc.

I don't think DW Knights are going to be all that popular. They're just too limited and they will fall to small arms torrent. I think what we will see is all-round DA armies with strong DW support. Belial is no longer necessarily auto-include with that pricetag.

As for the cheap cost of basic DA marines, one has to remember that Stubborn is easily worst of all different "Chapter tactics". Interestingly, Razorback is now 55 points base - I guess even GW is getting tired of Razorspam.

The TLLC Razorback and the LC+TLPG Razorback still cost the same. DA can do some real Razorspam with 5 strong tacticals with a heavy or special and dirt-cheap 4 PC devastators. And of course the power field generator Divination librarians, just to give the razors a 4+ invu...

Oh sweet mother

"AM are bunch of half human-half robot monkeys who keep tech working by punching it with a wrench And their tech is so sophisticated that you could never get it wrapped it out" thing a LITTLE to seriously. It also goes "Tau tech is so awesome I wish I was Tau and not some stupid Human" thing.

Yes the Heavy Bolter varient on the Razorback is going to be very rare in the DA armies.

It's a one use only "power up" for their maces. All Deathwing Knights in the unit have to use it at the same time though.

How much do Dreads and Venerable Dreads cost in the new Codex? Personally not really so interested in the actual DA dreads but they might give some clues as the how C:SM and C:BT Dreads will turn out.

No. Belial has exact same options as in the old book. He has Iron Halo now though. In fact, all special characters changed very little.

Very similar as in C:SM, except 5 points cheaper and tad different priced options. Venerable upgrade costs only 25 points now, which is cheap though whole Venerable rule is obviously now worse in 6th ed.

Don't ask for stuff like that on here, it s not allowed, and it won't fly very well with the MODs, plus no one is going to post you links, because they aren't allowed.

And the photos get taken down, as far as I understand it, and I'm by no means an expert, Dakka gets a load crap of GW for that sort of stuff. I'm not having a go about this, just letting you know before someone less polite or more important comes along.

I'd like to point out that the codex allows you to take a squad of devastators that have four lascannons for 150 points. thats 80 points cheaper then the vanilla codex.

Yes, and for 20 more points, you can give them missile launchers with flak missiles.

One interesting thing though. Is while the tactical squads are listed at lower cost, price wise they come out the same as in C:SM, because there is no free special weapon, or free heavy weapon options.

Oh my, usable devastators. Good thing I bought a second box of those to get extra heavy weapons, although my BT army obviously doesn't benefit at this point, and C:SM not any time soon either. But good to know they're akin to Havocs in pricing in the future, they were quite overcosted before. Do the Devastators have an autocannon option though?

Meeeh... I hope the LGS has a copy to browse a bit for myself later today.

Just want to add that Belial's Sword of Silence did get Fleshbane added to it. I believe Sammael's Raven Sword is now AP 2 instead of AP 3, the scanned image of his entry that was leaked is a bit blurry so not 100% sure. But this makes me wonder if Azrael's Sword of Secrets and Lion's Roar are the same.

"But....but....but.....14 points! 14 points!"
That seems to be a hanging point for most people.

What I like about the DA codex is that it does not limit you to buying those special/heavy weapons like the C:SM codex does. You can instead just get 10 guys with bolters and no special tools as a cheap objective camper. You can buy 4 bullet catchers and 1 heavy weapon.

Both the CSM and DA codex were built like that. I think that there are quite a few similarities between the two codex's, and if we pay attention trends for 6th edition.
