First of all please can no-one complain about tau not needing a titan, because frankly I don't care, what I've posted the rules for is for advice and opinions as I'm not sure if its pointed ( if that's a word) right. Here's the profile:

Great White Rules

1000pts

WS BS S Front Side Rear I A
4 4 10 13 12 12 2 3

Structure Points: 4

Weapons and Equipments
- Plasmid Railgun Primary weapon
- Cyclic Pulse Annihilator
- Alkaline missile launcher
- 4 Markerlights
- Ejection System

Weapon Range Strength AP Type
Plasmid Railgun (solid shot) 180" D 1 Heavy 3
Plasmid Railgun (submunitions) 180" 8 3 Heavy 1 10" blast
Cyclic Pulse Annihilator 120" 5 5 Heavy 30
Sturgeon Cannon 120" 7 2 Heavy 2 5" blast
Hydro-kinetic rocket launcher 120" 3 6 Heavy 2 10" Blast
Alkaline missile launcher 120" X X Heavy 1 7" blast Poison 2+ armour save suffers -2 Modifier

Upgrades
Targeting array...........5pts
Blacksun Filter............5pts
Flechette discharger....10pts
Disruption pod..............5pts
Up to 6 Rail rifles........15pts per pair
Twin-linked Ion Cannon... 20pts
2 Solid shot railguns....70pts

May swap CPA for Sturgeon Cannon
May swap AML for Hydro-Kinetic rocket launcher

Ejection system - Should the titan be destroyed, the pilot will be ejected, it scatters 2D6" from the titan, and moves the minimum distance required to land safely. The ejected pilot has the profile of a Shas'la fire warrior, and is equipped with a pulse pistol.
You can upgrade the pilot to an Ethereal for 50pts, if you do so then the titan is counted as the ethereal for purposes of inspiring presence.

It is tau, but I've limited experience with titans so don't really know what sort of ranges they should have, is 120" more reasonable?

Every single one of those weapons is ridiculously good, and the titan has almost all of them to start with. A bane blade has only one weapon even remotely similar to this and its half the cost. For what it has, this thing should be way more. Even with its poorish defense it still is dumb in how much damage it'd put out before going down.

-also, where is this sturgeon cannon? I only see it in the weapon stats not the profile itself.

Sturgeon cannon - below upgrades you can swap CPA for it.

Ok, so would you say 1500pts, without CPA or AML, which you have to pay for?

I'm more worried about how this doesn't seem to line up with anything else I've ever seen the Tau use; WS4 doesn't make sense, the 'plasmid railgun' doesn't line up with the super-railguns used on the Manta and the Tiger Shark AX-1-0, and the whole thing looks too much like you're trying to cram as much stuff as you can on it to the point where it isn't actually useable, not to mention rail rifles as point-defense weapons, which doesn't make a lot of sense either.

I'd advise making a Warhound-scale Battlesuit rather than a Reaver with a bit of Tau wargear; limit yourself to two primary guns for the sake of simplicity and keeping the points cost under control, and represent Jet Packs somehow; I don't see the Tau as using giant slow lumbering piles of guns in the way the Imperium does, they tend to be more into subtlety, maneuverability, combined-arms, and the like instead of making one unit designed to smash the enemy in the face.

Other than the fact that it doesn't actually look like a Tau vehicle, I suppose it works.

Thanks AnomanderRake, WS4 was kind of provisional, I didn't really know what to give it but ill make it 2/3 if you think it should be lower. The plasmid Railgun is just a better heavy Railgun, because the AX-1-0 and manta ones are pretty rubbish, and marine titans have much better weapons ( SD AP1 10" blast!)

It was originally supposed to be war hound style, but I was trying to make something with an insane amount of firepower, something other armies have taken away from tau *cough*vindicators*cough*, I'll get rid of the AML/HKRL, and replace it with a jet pack

Also, make the disruption pod more expensive; as a guard player, those things seriously kick ass.

It's the standard tau cost, but I suppose it's a titan so ill make it 10 and the flechettes 15

Sure, it is standard cost but it's gonna matter a lot more on an expensive titan than on a normal sized unit. I mean, who wouldn't spend just 5 more points to get their titan a constant cover save

I know what you mean, and now that I think about it I agree, but my original reasoning was:
1. Most titans have some shielding effective at range 12"+ like disruption pods
2. It can't benefit from Jink so no ridiculous 'power armour' tanks

I want one. LOVE the custom weapons you rigged up. But I don't play Apoc soooo.... lol!

Is there a image in mind for what this beast looks like or not?

Just thinking. Shouldnt the ejected pilot have the stats:

WS: 3
BS: 4
S: 3
T:3 (4?)
W: 1~2
I: 3 (4?)
A: 2

Equipped with Firewarrior armor for 4+, Pulse pistol, Independent character? It should be piloted by A) a Shas'vre at least, and B) likely have a pilot and co-pilot/gunner and maybe an Ethereal commander. Just saying. Ejection pod maybe? Would be pretty sweeeet!

Yeah, I like the stats you gave. Maybe the upgrade gives you the ethereal Aswell, because I've just realised how ridiculous Aun'va driving a titan would be!

Its a nice idea, but if you look at how the other Titans are pointed out, they just come with everything, no + or - to costs. Just throw the extras on and build it into the overall price.

The pilot ejecting sounds fun, but that too is something that has been removed from 40k. For home games with friends you can always add it in (even make the titan pilot an objective), but as for getting a more standard data sheet style I'd leave it out.

Also it might help to have a general illustration of the layout, since it seems like some of the potential cost would be altered based on the arc of the weapons. On other titans you have certain weapon slots that have min. range, a more limited FOV arc., etc.

Shwiggidy Shway Man! Again I don't play apoc but 2d6 jet pack assault move is the absolute last thing I wonder about. It will be a big model so 2d6 wont be that far in comparison right? Whats its base movement speed anyway? just for scaling you might do like 3d6? Or say its slow to respond and drop it to like 1d6? Test it out and see what people think, just dont get rid of it by any means. Honestly I have no idea what I'm talking about here just thought I'd throw it out there. Oh and you should totally put at least two networked markerlights back on it.

The markelrights were supposed to be networked, I just forgot to put it on, but thanks for pointing that out.
