here in berlin we have quite a few open places where there is plenty of such pipeworks all over... one is even at a local university... I wondered about all these for quite some time too...then I just quit wondering... it never does to wonder for too long^^...specially with construction work in such a molloch of a city like I am living in...

Dave, dude! those pipes do look good, I love the painting of them  are we going to see some more step by step airbrushing of your terrain soon?  I do so enjoy watching your projects blossom when you spray over them  Hmmm looks like Alph can use those pictures sooner than he thought eh! i'm actually suprised he hasn't 'visited' my thread and slapped my wrist!
so, what's on the Dave-o-rizer now? are you still casting things for future use or are you planning a new little terrain project?

I thought I was showing pics of my airbrushing? Really not much to show, black primer, blue, more blue, lighter blue, gunmetal, washes, rust... I got some new molds, but haven't casted any yet...soon.

No, seriously. If you'd even remotely consider it, I'd love to buy/barter/trade for your Praetorians. It is my last big IG push, to convert over to that Regiment.

I really hope he's talking about the terrain, but with nerdfest having fallen to the power of slaanesh recently I would advise closing the blinds and hiking up our pants dave, jus to be sure.

How's this for an update?
I didn't do anything today but go to Ohio, see my mom, eat a bunch of food, and get sleepy
However..I've been thinking about my pipe walkways all day. I need not just more rust, but different rusts, maybe even some paint showing..I dunno..they need..something....

What they are missing is textures. Maybe some flaking paint, or more chunky rust and corrosion?

Maybe after you close your blinds (nice pants by the way!) you could get some crackle medium to add the chipped paint on your pipes? I'm thinking of trying it out myself but it's always better when someone else buys it first :-) and yes, you did probably do stages for your painting but I may have missed it, and anyway I actually never tire of reading about how everyone does things even if i've seen it before!

I've got some crackle medium, the problem is, it isn't predictable enough for the way I want to paint. I'm thinking I want to do all brush-shaded chips and cracks. It's more work, but I think I can get there. First thing's first though, I need to get the base color right, which probably means re-basecoating the pipes. And I need to work light to dark..which is backwards from everything I'm programmed to do on terrain Automatically Appended Next Post: Damo...what pants?

Great paint work by Skalkbloodaxe. Can't remember how he did it exactly but could be worth reading up on again. His weathering on the tank, would suit your pipes perfectly.

I like the one on the left, but it's just too much of the patches. I think more of the rust color, and less of the chipped spots would work great.
