Hi I thought it would be nice to have a nice little collection of the new FAQ changes so people dont have to wade through them all to see the pink. Figured I would sum them up here
Main Rulebook
Vector Strike now ignores cover saves
Can only kill models in range of at least one of the units guns(so if the longest range gun is 12 can only kill within 12 of him.)
Rending is not AP 2 against vehicles
Blessings and reserves happen at the same time, so whomever turn it is decides which goes first......that is BIG Edit:Apparently this applies only to rolls, not actually towards deploying on the table, so they are still off.
Cant repair allied vehicles, even if battle brothers
Also now if you attack yourself, you can be forced to spend warp points on force weapons - guessing that will apply to mindshackle as well now........
Chaos
Well, noise marines can get 1 blastmaster in 5 and two at 10. That just changed the unit dynamics a bit..........O and the champion has a CC weapon
Hell Drakes weapon is turret mounted and measured from the base instead of the head. Very nice
Abbadon can join other units, well we all saw that one coming
Dark Angels
Lots of little wargear misprints
Also the ENTIRE veterans section is pink, not sure exactly what changed
Darkshroud lost stealth
Deleted Missile Lock from Nephilim
Deathwing vehicle is not required for regular squads, only for deathwing squads
Seraphicus is a special character in the book that you are allowed to use(preferred enemy chaos instead of zealot)
Necrons
Deathmarks can only mark a single unit per game
Necrons dont take explode hits - Sad face, but did not expect it to be FAQed the otherway
Blood Angels
Storm Raven Clarified for dreadnaughts - Str 10 while zooming, str 4 while hovering
Grey Knights
Power replacement is handled, coteaz replaces hammerhand. Grey knight librarians do not, and it is kept in addition to their other powers.
Storm Raven same as blood angels
Vindicare bypasses lookout sir - Well I will be damned........That is a nice boost.
Space Wolves
If an IC joins wolf scouts they cant do back of board deployment
Leaders of the pack applies to allied space wolves as well
Black Templars
Use the Space Marine vehicle reference for new stats
Dont need multiple vows and emps champs in multiple detachments
Dark Eldar
Klaives got clarified - solid termie killing unit that one
Malys and unit can not be targetted by psychic powers, also her blade is AP 3
Pain tokens kick in at the end of the phase they are earned
Huskblades are AP2 instant death
Vect is AP3 wounds on a 3+
Cant snatch IC's in a challenge
Eternal Warrior models ignore implosion missiles
Reavers use random allocation now
Barons hammer attacks benefit from the +2 strength
Can move flatout in the same turn as using enhanced aether sails
Imperial Guard
Commisars can only execute IG characters
Allies can not benefit from orders, nor can their leadership be used to boost orders
Tyranids
Disembark the full 6 for spores
Tau
Seeker Missiles need a 6 to hit
Eldar
Eldar powers not longer castable from inside vehicles
Sisters of battle
Orks
Space Marines
Daemons
Nothing of note
Those are all the ones I went through. Overall a solid round of FAQS I am happy with the erratas and especially the speed with which they addressed most of the Dark Angels problems.

Eldar's only edit is that their Farseers cannot cast psychic powers while embarked in vehicles, despite them not needing LOS to use them........ Thats an annoying change for Mechdar builds, no more Fortuning from inside the transport for re-rolled Jink and Turboboost saves...

Are you sure about this one? My codex is at home right now so I could be wrong, but I thought the FAQ said that any Land Raider CAN be upgraded to a Deathwing Vehicle, but that Dedicated Transports for Deathwing Squads MUST still be Deathwing Vehicles (which makes sense to me, at least, and frankly if you're spending that many points for a LR in the first place, why wouldn't you want it to be.)

The blessings and reserves item is nice so you can cast blessing on units arriving. It still doesn't allow them to cast anything when they arrive from reserves that have to happen at the begining of the turn. p125 I think.

I would not say nothing of note about the Tau. The one chance for the Tau AA unit to actaully be an ANTI-AIR unit was shot down with Seekers needing 6+ to hit flyers. Nids got small boost in the nid FAQ. Spore pods now disembark up to 6", just like a drop pod. After getting a kick in gibblies with the rending nerf. |
the Dark Angels Company Veterans change is the same that they made in the old codex. It allows the entire squad to change weapons, not just 3 models. It makes them very close to being a Death Company-style power weapon filled squad.

Finaly we got an awser on wolf scouts in reserves. While we cannot drag characters behind enemy lines, it is nice to finaly get a verdict.
Also, tyranid drop spore can deploy up to 6" out instead of being 2" close. This is neat, even though it does not make mutch diference on models with bigger bases.
I would like to see them nerfing the wolf rune priest so that he gets the rules of a regular librerian. It is those he has in the electronic verson of the codex I belive.
Oh and ouch:
"Q: Does the Vindicare Assassin’s Deadshot special rule supersede the
Look Out, Sir special rule for the purposes of Wound allocation,
meaning that the player who owns the Vindicare Assassin is still
allowed to allocate the wounds from its shooting even if their opponent
makes and passes a Look Out, Sir roll? (p53)
A: Yes."

What about Doom? He can't cast blessings or maels when he comes in but can have them casted on him.

The main one you are worried about with doom is a self buff, so still cant cast it. However The endurance is a nice one for him.
Also he can deploy 6 inches out of a spore now. So his effective threat range and safe drop spots just got crazy high.

He is far to expensive to not be the elite sniper he is, this should have been FAQed long ago.

So now our "skyray" is not only medicore (at best) AA platform, but an outright useless one.
Great.
I really hope the codex will come soon, or at least the copperhead-we need some freaking AA! broadsides and deathrains can only handle a pair at best...

That was in the FAQ previously if I recall correctly. Only witchfires has permission to use fire points from the psyker. you need true LOS for blessings and such. You can bless the unit also in the transport with the psyker though.

All they changed in the Ork one is Old Zogwort cannot re-roll the shooting psychic powers so he must use his warp charge still. And for Daemons Zombies don't count as followers of Nurgle.

I noticed along with the Eldar change they have removed the question where you could cast a psychic ability inside a transport on the transport or on its embarked passengers. uggggh.

A: Yes.
This could be interesting - make a unit go to ground, then use Mental Fortitude on them next turn to let them act. Not a game winner, but potentially useful.

The new shooting wound allocation rules seem to give a bit of a boost to assault based units because shooting units will need to be a bit closer in order to maximize the number of models that can take wounds from their shooting.
