Yep, I don't have SM DLC, didn't see the points as I don't play it often enough...

But, really, we don't really need SM DLC, the standard modes are good enough...

I can only play SM on PS3, though.

I have Space Marine as well, but only for PC.

I've got Space Marine on PS3.

Bought the DLC, but I've still never ever managed to have a go on dreadnought assault.

DoW is still probably best, as it's only on PC, so everyone who has it has it on the same device.
Unless the PC, XBox and PC versions of SM have cross-platform multiplayer, which from memory they don't.

I have SM on the 360 without the DLC.

I have SM on the PC without DLC, so I could play some missions for the campaign.

Well, I think we're a bit too scattered around for Space Marine, as cool as it would have been.

The votes are in as of 6:30 PM EST 1/30/13. Its 7 For Dawn of War, 2 for Dawn of War 2.

So Dawn of War it is. I will start to work on a campaign map and deciding which maps in the game will correspond to which territories.

While I'm doing that, everyone who voted needs to decide what army they are going to play and a background for that army, so I can start a story as well.

Also, if anyone has any suggestions as to how this should be run, please lay them down.

I did a couple over when I was posting on Filefront, the first was a success, the second not so much and the third was a failure.

The first was a straight out elimination match from 8v8 to 1v1, it worked because people were really into it and the game was fairly fresh.

Second was the same format but the player base had shrunk and it was harder to get people to commit.

The third time we went for a progression type thing, where you started off on T1 units only and the winner would say, gain access to Sergeants for their squads, but the issue with that is getting it balanced and fair. We were also going to try and use some of the better fan made maps to increase peoples awareness, but that also complicated matters.

I think the best way, if you want to have it order vs Chaos is a series of 4v4 or 3v3 with a number of 1v1s to determine a certain outcome. For example, in a 3v3 the forces of Chaos win, so that map becomes a Chaos one, but a 1v1 between the two weaker or stronger performing could be done to decide say, the choice of the next battle. A meta map would be advised to be created and the maps pre determined, we could all meet up on DOW and go through ones to use.

This was the intro to the third one we did, I did the fluff and left the map making to the other talented guys.

No Rush is a must as not everyone is going to be the same skill level and it should be fun for everyone.

I have Dawn of War, Winter Assault, Dark Crusade, and Dawn of War 2. Unfortunately, only DoW2 works online. i want necrons. Also, i wont be able to get on anytime soon. ill let ya know when im back online.

Hey, I have all the Dawn of War games (recently grabbed them all on steam for 10$) I would like to participate if possible.

What game in the originale DoW are we thinking about then? Soul storm? Dark Crusade? After having dug out my old copies I can be counted as more than interested in partaking in this campaign

More and more people are taking interest which is great, but we can't keep adding people.

SO, because of that. I am going to make the deadline for any new people SUNDAY, 2/3/13 (thats February 3rd, 2013) by midnight.

Anyone who is already expressed interest is ok.

I will also edit the OP to reflect that.

I definately agree that the 3rd option is not going to work.

Sadly, for the purposes of narrative, a straight 8v8, 1v1, etc etc is kinda dry.

I also completely agree that there needs to be a time allowance at the beginning of each game to prevent rushing as not everyone is gonna be familiar with the game right off the rip.

I vote for DoW 1 et. al. I have DoW 1 & 2, but for a massive campaign, DoW 1 is better overall.

Dawn of War 1 would work more successfully for campaigns.. But what about the players that only have DoW2?

It sounds good, I would prefer it toold DoW games to to their somewhat spammy nature. But I can play DoW 1 I suppose if there is only two of us up for it

How so? It has 'larger scale' battles, but I don't see it as a better platform for a campaign. The only thing is does in more detail is base building and managing resources, as DOW2 makes you fight directly for those points.

Which Dawn of War game you are playing, as in DOW 1 or DOW 2.

What Race you are playing as.

A short back story for that army.

YOUR AVAILABILITY ------This is HUGE. The campaign map features multiple planets and each has 2 players starting at each. I need to know how much you can play so someone who can play often isn't paired with someone who can hardly ever play because that just isn't fair.
