I think I remember reading that the Enforcers in the box set are still all restic and the hard plastic ones won't be available until later with wave 2 - I wouldn't be expecting to see hard plastic Enforcers in the box set.

The Enforcers in the box set are Restic. Not hard plastic. I've no idea if/when we can order hard plastic enforcers, but they are not in the box set.
Edit: Before people start complaining, Mantic never announced that they would "upgrade" the core box set. They just said that HP Enforcers would be tooled.

That's a bit odd though since update #103 had this:
MPORTANT! Enforcer Components - note that not everything included in this image will be in hard plastic and that the picture does not include all variants - there are some components missing. All of the torsos will have bases attached.
The Enforcer Hard Plastic Sprue contains 5 Enforcer Bodies with enough parts to arm them with Heavy Rifles, Assault Blades and Pistol. You can also build an Enforcer Sergeant, Enforcer with Heavy Weapons (Rocket Launcher, Incinerator, Burst Laser) and you have the bodies for the Enforcer Defenders. All other Enforcer Miniatures (including Sniper, Engineer and the Defender Shields and Shotguns) remain sprueless Plastic Resin.
.. as well as similar sprue breakdowns for all the other kits.
So, restic minis tooled just for KS backers and then the hard plastic sprues sold at retail later (or maybe available to add in the next survey?).
I'm okay with that but I really got the wrong end of the stick from that KS update, got the impression that the minis were being done in hard plastic for backers as well as future retail.

I thought that the boxed set Enforcers would be hard plastic too. Just goes to show that maybe more details in the communication, and more communication when promised, would stop such misapprehensions. A quick, 5 minute update of "x is not yet available to show, because of reasons y and z" is not that difficult. I have backed Mantic since the start, but the current disregard being shown to backers of DZ is very annoying.
To make up for the lack of update last week, we’re going to have two this week – where in the next one we’re going to go over progress on the project so far.
We’re also going to try and film the new scenery tiles in action as well. We can’t wait to show this off, so I hope you’re as excited as we are.
In the mean time, let’s take a closer look at the Plague…
Pretty cool, huh?
And, as we head off to prepare for this week’s bumper update, here’s the first look at the Plague Faction cards.
There’s three types of card in Deadzone – Stat card, Mission Card and Battle Card. The Stat cards cover all sorts of stuff – how much room they take in a square (or Cube, since it’s 3D!), shoot, fight, command etc – whilst the Mission Cards are used to give you your objectives (in secret, without the opponent knowing of course) and the Battle Cards can be played to buff your troops in key fights with the opponent.
Battle Cards open up a whole new wealth of tactics, and we can't wait to hear how people use them. Not long to go now!
And finally…
In exciting news, we’ve had confirmation from our manufacturers that the boxes, models and the scenery are on the water and are sailing towards us, hopefully avoiding typhoons and storms along the way.
Exciting times – and we’ll be back with the progress update later this week!
Still no pictures of the production stuff same old painted resins why are they so reluctant to post production pictures if they are done and shipping now. I've asked for production pictures in the update comments.

Agreed, production models are what need to be shown! When other companies' kickstarters I've been a part of have gotten a production sample, they immediately show it off...

@ DaveC and lord_blackfang - we've got production shots of the scenery we will show off in our video in our next update, which we brought back with us from our trip to the manufacturers. At that time, the models weren't finished, and we have not received any yet. When we get some, we'll show them off
Hmmm so that box they received was just a box then without actual contents to go in it, I don't have a good feeling about this.

By which time it's like or lump it (or we'll refund if you send them back at your cost) I'm seriously considering dropping MA if they can't show Deadzone productions miniatures not just scenery before MA closes.

I'm sure I'll get flamed for this, but:
This is not at all okay. If they used funds from the KS to tool styrene Enforcers, we should be getting them too. I can understand them not being in the core box, but all the other things?
If they are not available to me through this KS, automatically or via the next survey, they will be getting all the gak that I opted for back. And never another penny of my money.
Waiting for the updates now with some trepidation.
Hold on a minute, I thought ALL enforcers were being upgraded to HP? If it's just the Enforcers that come in the box then ok (not thrilled but o.k.). So what exactly is HP for the Enforcers?

Where have they said that's what happened?
“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

PS - we're looking at adding cross-compatibility with our Mars Attacks game by creating faction decks for the Martians and Humans (handy since the terrain and gaming mats are already compatible) - who would be interested?

I understand your concerns, and saw this reaction (and the reaction of this thread in general) coming months ago when I was first told. I have passed on feedback and annoying every Mantic employee that I can message to get the official confirmation of what's happening out.
I'm not flaming you and completely get where you're coming from. However, the hard plastic sprue was tooled but it was never announced how much it was going to cost as an addon. I believe that it will be an option on the second survey and I would personally be surprised if backers didn't get at least one sprue in the second shipment. Similarly, the Forgeguard sprues were announced but never given a price for and I don't believe that the numbers on the sprue (usually a 5 man sprue) make sense given the number of Forgeguard in the starter or booster (2 in starter, 1 in booster).

I don't get it. You pledged for something. You understood what you pledged for and what you are going to get. They made something else that you didn't pledge for and now you want that too?
It would be great if they did that, but that's not how kickstarter works. You pledge for something and (hopefully) you get it. That's how it works. They can use all the money on booze and hookers for all I care as long as I get what I pledged for. And I don't get to return my pledge and ask for my money back just because I didn't get to share the booze or get a lapdance.

Did anyone get a Deadzone wave 1 survey that had the option to buy sprued/hard plastic Enforcers?
Nope

I've got it on good authority that there will be an update soon on exactly what will happen.
You're both half right. You helped to fund the hard plastic sprue and the update announcing it was not clear whether the basic enforcers would be swapped or not. When the rumourmill started "confirming" that they would be swapped, Mantic lent validity to the rumour by not commenting on it at all (even if just to say we're not sure what's happening yet). However, please bear in mind that even if it was a stretch goal that was hit, you don't necessarily get a copy of each stretch goal. No-one's getting one of every terrain sprue funded as a freebie in their package, though they were available as add-ons. When you pledged for Enforcers, you did so on the understanding that they were Restic. I'm sure if you pledged additional funds for more Enforcers after the announcement was made then Mantic would be happy to hold those funds back from the first wave until the prices of the HP Enforcers are confirmed.

Good news ladies and gentlemen – we’re going to be producing hard plastic sprues for the Enforcers, Asterian Cyphers and Forge Father Forge Guard!
This breakthrough is down to the Cyphers, Forge Guard and the Enforcers being digitally sculpted."
- at no point does it say anyone gets them for free
- or even have a price
- in fact the update also says you have like 2 days left to complete your survey
- or even a delivery date
so with nothing saying you get them, or you get to buy them, or when they're even coming out, why would you assume that you got them?
I completely agree that it sure would be nice to be able to buy them and I really hope that the 2nd wave survey has the option to.
But I personally don't assume that if the update says that Ronnie was so excited that he spilled his coffee, that I would be getting coffee to spill as well.

For the record, I am fine with restic Enforcers. That's what was advertized back when I pledged.
Hard plastic being financed by KS money has no bearing on it. We get what they said we'd get. As long as pledges are fulfilled, what they do with leftover money is their own business.

I guess it just means that in any future Mantic update, don't assume anything...
Any other company posting "We're making X models out of Y material!" I would assume that... X models would all be out of Y material.
But with Dreadball, some models were swapped to metal without any notice. And here, updates about hard plastic apparently do not apply to some folks.
I am not in the DZ kickstarter, and still waiting to see what my material my Dreadball team shows up as. But their communication on these issues is frankly terrible. The fact that my team is in the mail and I have no idea what the material is is... well, not comparable to any other campaign I've been a part of. And similarly, with KoW things were shipping and people still had no idea what they looked like.
It's not that hard to take pictures, or update backers after something that had to involve a LOT of internal discussion like "Let's make all the alternate poses for the Dreadball Season 3 teams in-house in metal, since we're behind schedule, instead of in restic like the rest. Shrinkage be darned...". I mean, decisions like that don't just get made. And you can't just box it up and ship it and expect people to accept it when it shows up and is in a completely different material than they advertised!

Yeah, the campaign was over and even most of the pledge manager was done with when they even announced they could do the hard plastic Enforcers (or the other races)
so at no point would anyone be under the assumption that their pledge meant they were getting hard plastic figs (other than Heavy Enforcers at the end, and space zombies)
