Some models are on 40mm bases.

Not sure. Last time I looked at it all the models were just wound counters for the Sergeant and had no in-game function.

The final shape of Warpath's ruleset is still very much in the balance.

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

For Warpath, they're either on 25mm round bases or 40mm round bases (with some things, like the Corporation weapons teams, on 60mm bases.)

In Deadzone, models on 40mm bases are:

Enforcers:
- Captain
- Peacekeepers

Plague
- First Gen
- Second Gens
- Plague Teraton
- Plague Swarm

Rebs
- Teraton
- Weapons team (I *think* - I'd check, but everyone who knows is in the warehouse or in meetings!)

Marauders
- Ripper Suits
- Warlord
- Hulk

I think that's all of 'em! Someone correct me if I missed any.

Technically it does (in Deadzone) if you go with "any part of the base counts for Line of Sight purposes", but I know some people are house-ruling to not count bases, so it all depends really!

Lagoon83 any idea if Mantic is planning to phase out these daft integral bases that cause more problems than they solve? Would it help if we did a poll?

I actually like the integral bases quite a bit. What I hate is models that BARELY have any contact points with the base and you feel like they may break off if you touch them.

Huzzah! My insane order is moving in a FedEx vehicle as of 3:52PM UK-time and should be delivered tomorrow morning if FedEx is to be believed.

Might have to come in late tomorrow to facilitate delivery... >_>

It's arrived!

My only beef is that the battlezone sprues aren't in their own box, but they instead just packed them in with extra styrofoam peanuts. Which seems to have worked out okay, but it's going to make a huge mess in a few minutes.

A lot of people really like them - but you know what we're like, if enough people really want a change, it's something we'll consider! Maybe a poll could be an idea

I'm afraid I'm not sure - I got booted out of the warehouse as they didn't need me, so I'm back at the office.

We keep packaging on Kickstarters to a minimum - that way we keep shipping and production costs down (in line with the crazy deals we do during Kickstarters!)

I don't blame you or them for doing that, but I just spent ten minutes sorting through the packing peanuts for the pillar pieces that came off the fortification terrain sprues due to random movement during shipping, and when I got to the bottom I found two 30-40mm holes in the box that didn't cause problems simply because it was covered by the Deadzone box.

Edit: Correction: A one inch by one inch hole one one side, and a two inch by three inch tear on the other. Both luckily on the portion of the box next to the Deadzone internal box, which was wedged in place by about two thirds of my terrain sprues.

Boxes get shipped in boxes for a reason.

But that's my only complaint. Now I'm going to sit down, eat pizza, and play with all of my new plastic toys.

The 70s are making a comeback! Haven't you heard? Afros are back in, Saturday Night Fever's getting a remake, the Bee Gees are cool again.

Okay, most of that might be a lie.

It's so they fit into the bases - it's not ideal, though, and we're going to stop it happening. Personally, I'd just get a modelling knife, trim them down and texture the base so it's not an issue any more

I'm not James, but I'll take a swing at this one.

It is a failure in the QC process.

Edit: You mean platforms like the ones on the lower left figure here were intentional?

I would have preferred the poor QC excuse as opposed to intentionally poor design.

A likely story, I reckon you were booted out due to all the packing errors. Apropos of nothing, thanks for the bonus core sprue.

im considering putting mine on warmachine style bases, I think the intergrated bases will be sunk enough in the base that I can fill around them. For the disco shoed warriors id clip of the base and use the disco shoes as a tab.

Whats holding me back is how much of an impact doing this will have on my future use of the figs in warpath, plus wether they'd still fit on all the walkways with a 30mm base. Any thoughts dakka?

As much as I'd like to see the integrabases go away... If they're planning on doing 100+ models a side for warpath, they'll probably be leaning towards keeping them, as they do technically speed things up from a glue it all together and flock it later table top perspective.

No update to my shipping, but I've got a hold of a suppression team to hold me over. Unfortunately, I've noticed that the way the arms mount to the body, I feel I'd be a fool not to magnetize... so there's some more time down already

I advise against 30mm bases, honestly. I have a bunch of near future sci fi dudes (Viridians from Urban War and Pig Iron troopers) that I put on 30mm bases to use for sci fi gaming, and honestly, I don't like it anymore. It's hard to get them to fit in cover or stand near each other. I'm now becoming more and more of a fan of less obtrusive basing. I'm thinking of rebasing them on 25mm rounds or just going the 25mm clear acrylic bases route for them. Whereas my historical and fantasy gaming with big regiments I like doing fancy terrain and basing on them, with skirmish gaming big fancy bases just get in the way (especially if you've got grass basing and you then play on a desert board, etc). So, my opinion, no 30mm! And maybe even clear acrylic bases.

"...and special thanks to Judgedoug!" - Alessio Cavatore "Now you've gone too far Doug! ... Too far... " - Rick Priestley "I've decided that I'd rather not have you as a member of TMP." - Editor, The Miniatures Page "I'd rather put my testicles through a mangle than spend any time gaming with you." - Richard, TooFatLardies "We need a Doug Craig in every store." - Warlord Games "Thank you for being here, Judge Doug!" - Adam Troke

Ed--

I think the 30mm base is gonna be pushing it for the walkways. I don't have any to check though =/

Reaper just came up with some 25mm bases in their last kickstarter that are flat top one side and beveled on the other, but it will probably be months and months before they sell them separately =/

That is a pretty solid idea though, just fill the void around the models in with putty or what have you.

The way warpath is now, bases aren't terribly important, most measuring is done from the squad leader. I dunno if it could be considered MFA or not, I wouldn't bother you about it, but dunno about anyone else.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Well yeah, if he's willing to cut off the disks and glue them down, then I'm also for suggesting clear acrylics Bit time consuming, but I <3 the results.

To be honest im also looking at secret weapon bases ruined temples which I think could be painted up as concrete tiles.

Il do a tester, and see what I think. Cheers for the advise guys.

Yeah they are gonna get sliced off.

Just got my shipping notification, its going to the wrong address....I'm sure it can get fixed before UPS receives it though.

I love that you took the time to put your dice in numerical order before you took the pic.
