Inventory complete!

And I strongly suggest everyone inventory their shipments, as I had quite a few things missing:

1 x Rebs Faction Deck
4 x d8 dice from the main box (a known issue)
4 x Terrain Sprue 3 (Accessory Sprue) from the Core Worlds Battlezone
3 x Terrain Sprue 4.2 from the Landing Pad Battlezone
1 x Antenociti's Workshop Resin Equipment Crates

Mantic's recently published guides to what's what in the pledges was VERY helpful.

I've filled out and submitted the 'missing items' form, so hopefully everything moves smoothly from here and I hear back from them soon.

Has anyone actually already filled this out and heard back from them yet?

That's a fair bit Alpharius, doesn't seem like they hit the ~5% they were targeting, but it's hard to tell since only a small number post on forums about it. Did you get any extras? Some people have had a fair bit extra the buggers.

I had some extra Plague and Marauder Miniatures - but the missing terrain sprues are a bit of a stinger.

And I just saw that they don't expect to start shipping out missing parts/replacements until January...

That's understandable, but a bit of a bummer too, especially as I'm missing the Rebs Faction Deck.

Runnin up on ya.

Seriously do they want to just waste money and pay to ship missing items when they could have taken a little longer on each box and made sure everything was there?

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

If I go through all this tomorrow only to find out I'm missing something from the Reb faction. I will be forced to find consolation in a truly frightful amount of craft beer...

Alpharius that sucks worse then whats going on with me.

It might not be as nice as the professionally printed decks, but that six page PDF of the Rebs Faction deck does appear to have everything in the proper quantities, compared to the physical deck. (The decks that you can download along with the PDF rules from RPGVault using the link that was sent out to backers...)

So you can download that, print it out, and play that way.

What I am wondering is what the actual declared goods for any item would be coming into a country that has customs fees. Kickstarter isn't an online store, it's an investment vehicle; your pledge rewards are often tangible goods, certainly. But if your pledge expressly went to paying tooling costs, then wouldn't the value of the goods only be the raw materials cost, since the pledge rewards are not specifically a retail good purchased via a retail store?

Your pledge is not expressly for tooling costs - if it was, you would not have asked Mantic to take some of that money and spend it on casting and shipping your product. And the value is not the raw materials cost because they are not sending you raw materials, they are sending you a finished product you paid $150 for. If they'd sent you a box of raw restic and told you to cast it yourself, then and only then could they honestly claim that the value of the package is the same as its raw materials cost.

Why do people keep thinking you can pull this sort of legerdemain to get around their legal obligations? It's like watching an imbecile who thinks he can turn invisible by putting on a blindfold.

Hmm, my package made it through Canadian customs with no problem at all. Frankly I am glad they put the value at $20, I know for a fact that the tax on my box would have been around the $100 mark otherwise... Perhaps though this is the reason why the post office loose millions of dollars a week and have just raised the price of the stamp. Either that or they really are the most terribly run business in the entire country as they still seem to be reeling from the fact that the internet exists and people send emails nowadays. Also the fact that my local post lady didn't know where England was when I was trying to send a parcel there. Hmm, I seem to have gone off on a bit of a tangent there..

Anyway I'm saving all the contents of the box until Christmas so I am not going to do an inventory but from looking over the last ~20 pages on this thread I am guessing I can assume that there will be some bits missing?

Mantic said they're almost completely done shipping out DZ orders either Wednesday or Thursday... I'm not trying to be negative or impatient, but idk if I want to add anything to my Mars Attacks KS when the survey comes out

If MA is anything like this one, you will want to. Keep in mind that even if they ship today, they're still doing great on time. It's still December!

I know, I'm just kind of perturbed about the whole shipping notification thing. With the way it looks, I won't have it by this weekend, and I work second shift every day next week.

Getting the notification Wednesday and seeing that it would have been here yesterday morning made my night at work. Then when I woke up and saw that the arrival date had switched to N/A ruined the day for me.

Well, I got around to building some stuff. I was a little disappointed that the game mat doesn't quite fit on my coffee table. Instead, I had to commandeer part of my kitchen table. So far, I've managed to build myself a raised landing pad based more or less on the concept art for that battlezone used in the KS and I built an armored guard tower. Even so, with just the little bit of scenic stuff I have, I can get some decently atmospheric shots already.

here's my landing pad. It can fit my Enforcer Devilfish quite nicely.

Yeah, you can see them in the photos. There's some pillar pieces on the sprue. Only real downside to those is that they require having a plate under them.

Not sure if this belongs here (Mars Attacks is still Mantic and Sci-Fi, right?):

For anyone wondering about the quality of the plastic in Mars Attacks, I just picked up a discounted copy of the Gears of War boardgame, which apparently uses the same plastic and manufacturer.

This stuff is excellent! Really, really crisp - I'd say easily sharper than restic, and surprisingly rigid. It is a bit more flexible than restic, but still entirely suitable for painting. My only concern would be bases warping - a couple of the larger models do not sit entirely flat. Biggest problem is a little bit of flash on some models (e.g. between fingers), which is as big a pain to clean up as it is on restic. Mould lines were extremely minimal though.

I just wanted chime in and say that my giant box of Deadzone arrived last week. Even though I had over $500 worth of stuff in this first shipment, including extra individual models, metal warpath models, scenery and tokens and all kinds of sprues, there was not one thing missing. Nicely done Mantic!

Gameslore's damaged section: http://www.gameslore.com/acatalog/Games_Board_Games_421.html

And that unfortunately looked like the last one. It's always worth checking the damaged section though, as that site's definition of "damaged" is...generous. ~15-30% off for (as in this case) a slightly crumpled corner of the box or similar, everything inside fully intact.

I'd actually recommend the game to people interested in Deadzone/Mars Attacks's co-op and single-player aspects (as those aren't ready yet) - it has an interesting way of dealing with the AI and cover.

As for Deadzone, it looks like I should break my rule and give the big box a quick once-over before wrapping it up for Christmas!

It's the same stuff being used for Loka as well. I have Loka minis on-hand, and can confirm it's really good stuff.

I actually prefer it to restic. There is some slight flex in the material, but really not much... a thin skeleton arm still takes quite a bit of effort to bend by 10-15 degrees, and then immediately goes back into shape.

Mould lines are easier to remove than on restic too, not as much resistance to being filed. Very impressive material.

I think AT-43 plastic is the closest comparison I can think of.

I listed before that my copy of DZ was missing the paper mat. I found it. It was a buyer error by putting it under the box in my excitement. Only missing items are the 4 dice that everyone seems to be missing. I'll wait to hear how they plan to deal with the dice (I swear I read they were just putting them in the next shipment in an earlier post in this thread). They have enough emails, I'm not bothering them over an issue they know we all have. At least not yet, unless they tell us to use that channel to ask for more dice.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I'm fairly confident that Mantic will sort it all out rather quickly, especially as they'll be wrapping up shipping of most people's first wave Deadzone stuff soon?

Of course, with all of the missing items reported here, well, they might be rather busy fixing everything too.

I've received the automated response that they got my completed "Missing Items" form though, so there is that!

Yeah, Mantic has replaced my missing bits in the past very quickly and usually have thrown in extras. (in KoW my Mummies baggie was missing a cloak or something, and they just sent me a whole new bag of ten mummies!)

All I have to say is I hope I don't have to spend so much time cleaning mold lines off stuff when Mars Attacks drops.

My Gears of War stuff has ZERO flash on it.

After reading the rules over the last few days, I wonder how long before either Mantic or fans release some sort of points builder program to let you build non-Deadzone figures into the game.

Because then the Locust will be fighting the Martians this summer, and we'll see how well Khador can hold the line against the Plague.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

The few models I've toyed with so far are in a different galaxy to the gak I received in my S2 Dreadball shipment. Not quite as easy to remove as GW's hard plastic, but definitely a step forward. That's with a knife though, I did get some better files to try out and I've not got them out yet to try.

I have not finished assembling models, but the only mold lines I really had an issue with was the Grogan heads; they're just fiddly bits to try and and scrape.

Most everything else in the first box has seemingly had very minimal lines. My major complaints are I have more than a few that will need some hot water bending such as my pyro who's flamethrower nozzle is bent at a 45 degree angle almost and my plague dogs were broken in shipping. Nothing irreparable yet though, so here's hoping as I inspect the rest that trend continues.

In slightly unrelated news, I got my S2 DreadBall boosters finally, so that KS is finally in the books for me. 2 KickStarters down, 5 to go (for now...)
