I think there's bundles on the Mantic site that aren't available elsewhere. If there's a 3 goal win, then there gets to be some real steals.

I got my stuff for 20% off. Despite my hopes being dashed that England would suffer a crushing defeat by Costa Rica in the last footie match. Let's be frank. England's performances in Brazil were shockingly bad.

Strider rules have been sent out by email. I'm on my phone, can't post full email, but they're between 26-28 pts each and they've hinted at Corp coming to DZ in it. Also A3-those missile launchers finally have a purpose.

With Deadzone: Incursion introducing bigger and better battlefields, you’re going to need new equipment to combat the new threat.

Enter the Strider, a versatile Light Support Vehicle that we’ve been previewing for a little while now…

‘Strider’ is a generic term applied to a variety of bipedal vehicles employed by the Corporations. The GR-77 model is a combat variant employed by the Enforcers, but often stolen and re-purposed by other factions. As versatile as it is powerful, a Strider is a valuable asset to a strike team.

The Strider is a mean machine that can be employed by no less than the Enforcers, the Plague and the Rebs. Oh, and there’s a Corporation Pilot included as well so you can include it in Warpath (or maybe if one day a Corporation faction gets added to Deadzone?)

The Strider kit itself is premium plastic and includes an array of unique pilots, cockpits and several different weapon configurations – for any long-range menaces the Enforcers can use the Genling 88 HLS-X, a Range 12 AP4 cannon to blast away any opponents from afar. If however you prefer your carnage a little more up close and personal both the Rebs and Plague variants have the Brawler special rule and come equipped with an Assault Flamer and Chainsaw. Nasty!

The plastic kit also comes with banners for the Rebs, extra armour and a shoulder-mounted missile launcher - because why not?!

Can someone remind me where premium plastic fits in Mantics plastic definitions again. I'm nearly sure they are PVC (resin versions in the pictures) not really an issue for me as the DB mech turned out great even in PVC and these are larger.

DaveC is right. Premium plastic = restic. Restic is a bit of a misnomer, as it contains no resin.

KS striders went for $20 (Bogof), so probably a bit more than that for retail. $25?

Yep, Premium Plastic == restic.

After spending this afternoon cleaning up lots of flash from some Basileans and having to hot water bend the swords back into shape and then having to dry fit and hot water bend the arms to properly line up with the swords on each one, I'd say that "Premium Plastic" is more of a misnomer than restic is.

It'll be alright on the strider though, chunky model, not too many parts, not thin and and spindley bendy bits everywhere. Asterians are going to be a fun one...

Depends upon the Quality control too, hopefully Mantic have had a word with the factory over in China. No more bits torn off sprues or hideous miscasts please. I have not bought any recent DZ releases so does anyone know if the restic mix has improved?

@Pacific I think that Striders will be anything from the £12 (unlikely) to £15/£18 price point over here. For those saying this is equal/close to Kickstarter prices Mantic have done this before.

@Scarletsquig: You are a brave man, I just cannot face any of the Basileans.

If the QC for restic casting on the Striders is as good as the marauder gun tracks, I am in for massive disappointment and frustration.

What's the current word on shipping of wave 2?

Well, "July" is the current word from Mantic, which I interpret as "first packages will start going out at the end of the month, you'll probably get it in August".

Rules for the Striders look interesting, and I like the variety between the factions. The Enforcer one looks brutal, AP4 and Irresistible means it's almost one-shotting Stage 1s with a good roll! That said, fitting one in an Enforcer list will be brutal, although it's more worth its cost than the Peacekeeper Captain.

The AP3 Chainsaws with Brawler on the Plague and Rebs ones are also looking nasty, but except against other Striders, I can't see it replacing S1s or Terratons respectively in my lists. With 5+ on shooting and fighting, the Rebs ones may be a bit too generalist, and doesn't look as good as the Enforcer one for the same cost.

Out of interest, what does the Vehicle rule do? I don't have the book with it in (it's not in the main one, is it?)

Still, they do all look very cool, model-wise and rules-wise, and if they're as reasonably priced as the Iron Ancestor, I can see myself buying a couple. Any word yet on whether or not they come with the cards in the box, or in one of the incoming supplement books?

Damn. My group might finally start Deadzone then. They already have a nice deal of some of their larger sets... now we'd be stupid NOT to buy it... right?

I love the striders. Love them love them, love them. But I'm not looking forward to painting that screen on the Enforcer variant. I find glass one of the worst/hardest things to paint.

I've friend who are good with spray guns, I'm thinking of asking them to do just the canopy. That or go with an open variant.
