With that mixture you will have plenty of variety to go round. This kit should be great for Mantic for Deadzone, generic Sci-FI Zombies and even things like 40k Nurgle Cultists and the like.

I think I've got 90 coming from the bundle and assault. I've got a mhorgoths revenge know starter set totally unopened and some left from the first. Mostly out of marines but then I've got 30 something zcorp marines as it is.

Good year for zombies. Bad year for.... everything else?

Think I'm gonna combine my plague, zombies, zcorp, and strain under one evil will we'll call Nemesis. Watch out... everything else!

Never used MM before, but now that they have striders for a price i like, i know where I'm going.

MM is solid. I've used them quite a bit actually. More than the Warstore lately honestly since they tend to have a slightly better discount and purchases over $100 get free shipping

Shipping on small items tends to be good at MM too. And I like their interface better. I used to deal with Neal a lot though.


I just hope mantic will sell replacement faction decks like that merc deck. I know people would buy em. That or PDF of the card sheet on their rules page.

I bought one set of Deadzone zombies, and I'll definitely be making use of them. It does look like Renedra's quality is still noticeably better than Mantic's chinese manufacturer, though, if the one zombie with the Kings of War zombie headswap is anything to go by.

They look good but they need to design that sprue better, there is alot of wasted plastic there. Really looking forward to my peacekeepers and Enforcers now!

Well I've got 85 coming, and a few sprues of kow zombies knocking around to make it a round 100. Should be the basis of a plague army for warpath.

All we need now is plastic 3rd gens and id be a very happy man.

The more complicated the sprue, the more expensive the mould is to machine if I'm not mistaken.

Hence the re using of the kow dwarfs and orcs in the warpath starter box, saved them money new designs and tooling. To be honest we'd be seeing a lot more of this from mantic if they hadn't been able to use kick starter to jump start production on other projects.

Another example is dkh, the inital boxset had to reuse the kow miniatures rather than go for new sculpts, im sure this limited what they wanted to do with the game.

Yeah... I may have a zombie winter... My main job slows/stops around december and it's unlikely that I'll find anything full time for the short duration that it's down, means I can't buy anything but gives me ample time to paint. May have to zerg out a horde of mixed undead action.

Thankfully I'm a slacker and still haven't assembled many of my zcorp or plague so have plenty to mix it up with too. Glad it looks like they came out well, the plastic in zcorp were really nice too.

Not "had to reuse" - the original DKH was "how can we use these figures in a different way?"

I think it was along the lines of they told Jake he could do what he wanted but it had to be with their current sprues.

Yeah, smart move really. They spent all that money on the hard plastic sprues, then turned around and made a new game to use with them. At the same time, people who played DKH and wanted more could then take their boardgame figures and go expand to play kings of war. Synergy!

Is Jake a Mantic staffer, or basically just contracted to develop and maintain each game or edition as they come up? I really like his rules. They're not perfect, but you can see a lot of thought goes into the design to make them achieve a certain goal - ie. fast action with tactical depth from what I've seen of Deadzone and Dreadball. I assume kings of War and Warpath also prioritises speed of play.

Yeah, KoW has a little section discussing using a chess clock, I believe. I know the warpath 2.0 rules did.

He's got his own thing called God of Battles, from the sound of it. I'm not entirely sure if he's full-on the staff or not though. I think he's a little more full-time than Allesio, but maybe still sort of his own entity? Someone probably actually knows the answer lol so I'll stop speculating

He has done DKH, PP, DZ, DB and MA. Alessio has done KoW and WP. Jakes rules are generally good but far from perfect they generally have a large flaw in the base rules, and IMO he does not make particularly balanced forces. I feel he needs to do just the base game and get someone else to do the various forces. I also feel they are relying on him to much, don't put all your eggs in one basket etc...

I was thinking the base rules were largely flawless but the balancing was a little off, for Dreadball and Deadzone at least. I love the basic mechanics of those games - fast action with good depth. But rebels are lacklustre and in Dreadball the teams can be pretty disparate too. Nothing like the variability in blood bowl though - lol halflings ; p I still have to read through WP and KoW so not sure on Alessios abilities.

Jake (and Alessio for that matter) are mates with Ronnie as well as regular contractors. I assume Ronnie comes up with the general design brief and they take it from there.
