Nice finds! Thanks. I still would like to see that the legs and torsos are separate. If they are not that is a downer.

How well do you reckon they could represent stormtroopers (albeit bulky ones)? Especially if combined with catachan arms as opposed to armour (Im thinking Delta Squad...)

These are quite excellent.
But are the torsos and legs separate?
I'd really like to see a pic of these next to a space marine.
Also, I'd really love an option to buy these individually. I might have use for one or two (to be techmarines) but probably not for five.

Reeeally hard to resist ordering those. My backlog is just too big. I love the designs though. My one gripe is that those arms just aren't suited to using guns. But I absolutely love that you guys incorporated the slots for the magnets into the design.

Yeah, Puppets War can you confirm? Legs need to be modular...

Well I guess a single part = one mould
even torso + legs = two moulds which means more expense labour and thus higher prices
and since at ~$25 for 5 these are at the expensive end of stuff they may feel they can't sell them if they were for example $30-35 for 5

You can have one mold for many small parts... They'll get 10% of the demand they would've had for modular parts.

My opinion is that if you're already going to charge a premium price then go all in. Personally if they were fully modular I'd be fine paying closer to $30-$35 for them. Why? Because then I can model the hell out of them. But saving $1-$2 per model isn't worth the lack of flexibility and so I'd never order these.

If they were spin casting I'd agree, and going multipart would not be a major issue
but with gravity flow resin I think you'll boost the mould/labour costs significantly

I'd like to see Wehrkind post here, but from what I've seen in-person of his vacuum pot casting, you can put a number of small bits in a mold. I'm not saying it's easy- I'm saying it's worth tackling because of the Huge market demand.

I can understand the disappointment, but don't go crazy. The loss of two types of articulation isn't that big of a deal when you still have 14! (2 each in shoulder and hip, and then 1 for each knee and elbow) And that is before you add a head! Those are still the most modular models I've ever seen.

I might be misunderstanding you but the current models aren't "the most modular models". The torso and legs are a single piece cast. Only the arms and head would be customizable.

Damn I thought they were modular... now it's gonna be a lot harder to justify buying these. $24 for extremely customizable stuff is a no-brainer. $24 for slightly cooler Space Marines is not.

Well that's a bummer. Probably not buying these in their current form.
Anvil Industries is offering more modular figures, WITH guns and shoulder pads for roughly the same price as these.
I think PuppetsWar really missed the cash boat with this.

Wondering Why the Emperor Left

The modular kit from the preview in the other thread were instant buys for me. The available set was a letdown for me due to the lack of customization.
I'd like know PW's thought process as to why they went this route. The feedback they received on this kit/ the Chaos version they previewed was pretty clear that the main interest was the poseability.
I'll gladly pay for the kits as they were first previewed if they ever get released.

Rather stick with GW at that point, sorry nice try PW

I must have misunderstood. I thought that it was the torso and abdomen together, not all the way down to the legs.

Let's go with Apples and Apples, eh chaps?
1x 5-Man squad of Forgeworld marines is £23.00
1x 5-man squad of Puppetswar not-marines, PLUS 1x pack of 10 shoulderpads is €25 = £21.30
Neither set comes with weapons.
So fractionally cheaper, but not significantly so. Not enough to make them attractive as cheaper alternatives (Like Anvil's stuff), which puts them squarely in the realm of "alternative aesthetics" without being any cheaper. These are best compared in price to figures like Anvil Industries' SteamLords or Forgeworld Space Marines or even Mantic's (restic) Enforcers - not GW's injection moulded plastic kits. (Shame about the torso/legs all being 1 part, though).
Of course, the Puppetswar figures don't necessarily need shoulderpads, as they've got a lot of scope to be used as things besides GW marine proxies.
Really though, I'm wondering what's up with ordering from them. I ordered some stuff from them 7 days ago, and also had a question as part of my order. I haven't heard anything back from them and they say they ship within 7 days of receiving payment.. so I'm starting to wonder if they want to ever get a second order from me...

@Azazelx They take 24-48 hours to get back to your questions. I had the same experience with them. Oh, and it might say 7 days but it took 19 for my order to ship. If the quality isn't above average I'm currently doubting a second order. But I'm willing to hold judgement until my box comes by tomorrow. It was suppose to arrive today but no one was home to pick it up and it's a signature delivery.

Well, at this point they've taken 186 hours to not get back to my question, which is as endearing as you might expect. A real shame if they subscribe to the Avatars of War school of customer service. I've had pretty good service from Kromlech and Bitspudlo - and great service from Maxmini in the past, so this is a little surprising.

I have to say the customer service with puppets war I have received has always been tops, they can be a little slow answering at times but they have always dealt with problems fairly and rewardingly
Avatars of War are one of the worst to deal with I like there products however actually getting them is a task in its self.
