Just looking through my codex, and I found that a chaos lord in termie armor(5++) can take sigil of corruption(4++) . Would this give him a 2+ invulnerable save? I am new so I may just be being stupid. Can you please help?

Nope, his inv save becomes 4+. Inv saves do not stack with each other. He would have a 2+/4+.

As above. They don't stack. Taking both would be useless*, because he can only use the best one.

*The only possible situation I can think of where it might do anything is if a Vindicare Assassin used his Shieldbreaker round on you, which permanently removes any invuln. save from wargear. I'd have to look at the exact phrasing, but having both might mean you have a spare. )

From Codex Grey Knights:
... the model loses any invulnerable saves granted by items of wargear...

So unless it was changed in a FAQ you wouldn't have a 'spare' invulnerable save.

Yeah, I think that covers it. Fluff-wise, I don't think Aura of Dark Glory should be affected by Shieldbreaker, as it's not an item that grants the sve, but it is an item (as in listed) on the wargear page, so I agree that it's lost as well.

A Tzeentch Lord in Termi Armor and Sigil would have a 2+/3++ save.

2+ invul by default? if i saw that being legal on anything that wasnt unique/insanely INSANELY expensive i'd question the sanity of GW codex writers.

While the OP misinterpreted the rules, why would GW be insane for allowing this? It cerrainly wouldn't happen to any run-of-the-mill models, only very expensive and unique model. Calm down...

I miss my old Canoness' Cloak of St Aspira. 2+ save made 2++ with a Ld test!

Like idk a unique, well just generic DE archon?
Best you can do with CSM is on a HQ get a 2+/3++/5+++(FNP)
Or more easily a 2++/4++/5+++

I like to think the Studio has an unwritten rule (or maybe it's printed above all the desks, I've never been) about 2++ saves always having a downside. Shadowfield is lost when failed, Ghazghull only has it for a turn, Nemesis Warding Stave only in CC, I believe the Cloak of St. Aspira was once a game, a leadership test or a faith test?

The day this rule is broken is the day I will be certain codex creep is more than a shift in design philosophy and an increase in number of kits available to a faction.

I think the only 2++ saves in the game ATM are Warding Staves for GKs(only melee) and Ghazskull on his Waaaagh.

DE Archon, and what is almost as good is a 3++ on an entire squad with FNP at T5.

They had a 3++, same as now. Phase Shift gave a 3+ invulnerable save and (as they were then) frag grenades :L

Cloak of St Aspira was a piece of wargear that gave 2+

An act of faith (Ld test) costing a faith point, made it 2++
