From what Mark said, the APC and kits are almost all ready to go into production. It's the Black Widows and Assault troopers that have me worried, to be honest.

I don't get it - worried how?

Yeah guys, I am betting August or September to have these in my hands (end of Q3). Hope I'm wrong, though, they look great!

Mark, can you double check that the factory will be sending out the capacitor cookers with the 15mm Mortis models? Don't want to repeat that mistake by them if it can be helped... And I want to assemble mine with the coolers, of course

I would need a massive, massive parking garage for all of the APCs I would buy.

COMING SOON, DREAMFORGE APC PARKING GARAGE KICKSTARTER.

Naturally, the parking garage will come with 20 different weapon options, be fully pose able with over 56 points of articulation, and be able to come up with a legitimate excuse for your significant other as to why you had to sell the house*.

*Dreamforge games does not recommend using the DREAMFORGE APC PARKING GARAGE as a substitute to regular housing

I know we joke around... but knowing what I do now about the quality of Marks' work, I'd totally buy terrain from him in a heart beat. Having a bunker with the same theme as everything thus far? EPIC.

I'm pretty sure I remember Mark saying that he was working on terrain too.

Yup, Theophony read my worry correctly. I'm not AT ALL worried about the quality or the aesthetics. It's the time frame that has me worried. WGF has been dicking around with this project long enough. We can't even count the projects that have been pushed through before Mark. And if the blogpost regarding the sale is any indication, the market clearly wants more of his stuff. So in essence, they are cutting into their own bottom line as well.

I am not apposed to renaming but I need to do so before they cut the mold, so the correct name is on the sprue. I am not married to Zeus by any means but Loki.. yeah I like Loki for the anti tank gun version. It just seemed so fitting "bah, it just an APC no need to worry" BOOM and down goes the walker... mischief and trickery

*Cough* mine *cough"
Loki gave rise to sleipner, so it still fits. There is also Fenrir if you want to go the wolf route... but the devourer of worlds probably is best reserved for something a tad meaner

Could we keep a technical term and a slang, or boots on the ground term? I love Stuka zu fuss, but I would also love the troops referring to them as Thors, Odins wrath, whatever. The nebelwerfer is one of the most terrifying(ly ineffective) weapons made. Would definitely agree to sticking to the one pantheon ideally.

A gazillion? No, I only ordered...nah, I won't say it.

Regarding the naming, Norse mythology was necessarily a WWII thing. Just look at "Mad" King Ludwig II of Bavaria and his association with Richard Wagner (composer of the Ring cycle regarding the Norse gods and heroes). I certainly wouldn't mind using those names.

Hey mark, about to assemble the rest of my storm troopers and I decided I wanted to make them up for your game, whenever it eventually comes around.

What's a safe bet for equipping the squads?

I was just going to go with 10 man squads, sarge gets an SMG, and a couple of guys get panzerfausts.

Well maybe I'm slow........Okay I know this morning i'm definitely slow, but with GW releasing the Knights and the rules everyone that i've read has posted that they are excited to use the leviathans finally. I totally agree , but then I just heard someone mention an allying force of imperial guard with their knights, and it hit me I can use the eisenkern as my imperial allies and have the complete set.

Yes yes I know "Theo why haven't you though of this sooner?" We've been playing IG with a warhound ally for so long using all the DFG miniatures get with the program. DUH!!! But this is different in that it sounds more like Marks idea for Iron Core where it's mainly a big stompy robot battle with a few squishies there for flavor.

Three Knights and a slew of troopers seams like a good idea. Or if I get my resin one completely assembled then I can have four knights with some squires

I do have a unit org. but it is still very much open to change and it looks like it will change. We need to get through the Alpha test to make sure the balance is correct. I am happy to post what I had worked out many months ago but it will be far from accurate.

Ah hah! An excuse as to why I've been slacking on assembling all the guys...even the pile of metal Stormtroopers I have...

While I understand that everything is up in the air, it would be nice to have the broad strokes of what a typical squad would look like at least. Are they still going to be broken up into fire-teams?

What have you done with our Theophony? He's usually much more on the ball than that!

OT: The recent Astra Militarum rumours (forget, IG, boys and girls) focuses on some type of oversized transport, almost Land Raider sized. Now, correct me if I am wrong, but our Keilerkopf seems like it would fit that bill pretty awesomely?

Mathieu, the main issue I have with that name Astra Militarum is confusing as there are AM armies and units,,,,Adeptus Mechanicus? now to tell in discussion of AM armies, are folks speaking on or the other? most will stick with IG to keep them out of the land of confusion.

Fair enough. I'll probably just go ahead and build them in a way that makes sense to me, and when the rules come out I'm sure I'll have extra cash to buy more models since I'll need heavy weapons and vehicles anyways.

If IG ends up getting a vehicle that's the same dimensions as Mark's awesome transports, I will laugh my arse off. At that point, it will feel like GW is intentionally copying Mark

like I said I'm a little slow today. But most people were talking the other way around with a guard army and a leviathan(war hound), but now the new codex allows all leviathans(knights) with an adjunct of squishy people. I know you all thought it, I'm just now realizing the true potential.....like I said I'm slow today.

If the tank winds up similar in size to marks design then I'll join you in the laughter. Especially if they base it off a six wheel design.

About the APC ... were/are there any plans for a half-track version? Seems like it would be a pretty easy upgrade, and would look hella cool.

I'm building up my metal Kriegsmarine, and they really don't have alternate weapons :( Unless I do some snipping and adding from the accessory box.

Eisenkern aren't going to be my main IC faction anyway, but if I were to get some plastic Sturmtuppen I would be tempted to maybe magnetize about half of the weapons...

I'll just be using what I have built to test if I can get in on alpha testing, beta testing for sure

It does seem (granted, I don't know how the kit goes together and may interfere) to be a no-brainer of a conversion kit to put out.

So, the competition for Marks Eisenkern Stormtroopers has appeared. They look a lot better than the old GW stormtroopers, but I'll take the Eisenkern any day I think. That said, for variety I might still consider some from a US discounter... as a low priority. I won't link the walker/apc type thing, comparing it to the Dreamforge APC would make me feel dirty (if the walker/apc thing *is* an APC that is).

For comparison any number of excellent examples, but this was high in the youtube search (sorry, had to include the second when I saw it):
