Well my wife ordered herself an expensive handbag, I guess it's only fair that I order a few figures for myself then.

In here defense it was her birthday and I did give her my blessing to order what she wanted, but whatever, I need my toys too!

Grabbed a Cleric, a Female Worshipper, the Fighter encore, and a Sun Worshiper pinup. I love the base on that Sun pinup, but I have no idea what colors to do it in.

More than likely it'll just languish in its box like my Black Knight currently is.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

You have my support!

On the topic of the Black Knight, though, it took me awhile before I realized the visor is actually molded as the knight's beard. That makes it an even more awesome model.

Picked up a Mother, too. Now if only I could get the Grand Mother to go along with that.

Nah, the Black Knight's visor isn't his beard. It's coming out of his mouth. The face and upper jaw are on top of his head, above the visor and his lower jaw is just below his visor, as a gorget.

I usually scurry away from resin out of fear, but I broke my rule before to get a Halloween Twilight Knight and a Thief, so, of course I had to grab the Cleric and the Mage and Fighter encores. Now it won't matter if they do a plastic box of them, since I already have them! Cleric is definitely my favorite yet.

The Storm Pinup and Sun Warrior Pinup were mighty tempting... But I can just feel that the Pinups of Death 2 approaches... Probably this summer? Do we actually have enough pinups now? I'm assuming we'd exclude the holiday pinups, but I know there are several that I'm missing.

Edit: I counted five pinups that are neither a part of the original set, nor from the kickstarter, but I know there are more than that. (Storm Armor, Sun Warrior, Wet Nurse, Weaponsmith, Visionary)

Kingdom Death Fanatic. Dark Eldar: Kabal of the Fragile Breath. Dark Elves: Allegiance to the Black Crown. Also, Masons, Cygnar, and Legion of Everblight. All unnamed.

Holy gak that is an awesome username. Please tell me your army is called Kabal of the Fragile Breath. Morathi's Darkest Sin has some competition here for best handle, I think.

Oh, those are gorgeous models. Hopefully they will make a future appearance in plastic game expansions

Apparently an update went out. I didn't get it, but saw it posted in the FB group:
http://us1.campaign-archive1.com/?u=1f4d6d8b08474b282855b8143&id=484cbbfb1c&e=add8f4031e

Rules version 1.4, apparently.

Honestly, I'd pay for an update pack with revised cards, once they reach critical mass.

Nice update! Glad to see that there's daylight visible for a potential follow-on.

I was surprised by the announcement of only 50 units (plus GenCon supply) of Monster left in stock. He has to do another run, right? It seems crazy to have done the massive investment for tooling and production and not print more when he sells out.

Adam produced what he thought would sell this year, didn't expect it to sell as well as it did. Being plastic, he can do another run at reasonable cost.

Yeah, saw that, but the beard's way more amusing.

Really like the look of this guy, but the fact that there's him and two sidekicks implies to me that he's expansion material, so I might as well wait for the less awesome plastic one.

That's pretty crazy it's sold that quickly-especially at the $400 price tag. I wonder how many units he's sold?

I've heard 10k and 15k repeated a few times, so expect there's some truth in that range.

Yeah, that seems about the right. He did at one point post that there had been 15,000 phoenixes made, but there were two included in the survivor pledges so unless he made more during production that would probably put it at closer to 10,000 units of the full game. Another number I recall was 3,500 copies beyond the KS fulfillment, which again points somewhere in the 10-12,000 range.

KS had 5,400 backers, so assume maybe 6k original KS copies +2-3k late backers? 2-3k retail copies?

So im gonna be that guy and say this 1.4 update is pretty lame. Rules clarification and some changes in a PDF sure, but changing entire Settlement cards, so now I need to print these out and glue them onto cardboard, and how many are changing? This just feels lame.

You don't need to change anything if you don't want to, it's not as if the game played badly on the original rule set

and the email did say they will (eventally) get a physical release so why not wait until then?

Its Adam Poots, how long do you think that wait is going to be? We also dont know how much of an overhaul these rules changes are? I personally find the rules very vague and hard to follow, so I welcome some clarification, but changing cards across the board sounds rather frustrating.

I find it kinda strange that they go to the trouble of making plastic kits but then only produce 500. That would barely cover the cost of the tooling, surely?

So many games, so little time.

So many models, even less time.

Screw it, Netflix and chill.

Not that I've seen.

Any mention on why the expansions are the only items up for sale? Other miniatures were up on the store earlier today, now only expansions.

It may well be that these are not in the same place as the resin minis/loose bits (which are at KD HQ) and aren't going to take up huge amounts of space, whereas packed boxes like the expansions will,

so keeping the orders separate would make sense

Kingdom Death: Monster - Sold Out

In 6 short months following the game's release, we smashed thru our inventory. The remaining 20 units and 60 "red dots" which contain no miniatures are reserved for GenCon. The red dots came about as part of the factory's QA process, some sprues were damaged in transportation from one facility to the other and we decided to simply pack 'em without any figures at all.

We sold 2 retail copies to Powell's Bookstore in Portland, OR. If they still have them they should be in the store's board game section. And really, that's about it for retail! The final price of the game meant that very few units sold to retailers. Instead, we sold just shy of 4,000 units direct to customers! The vast majority of those were sold during our reduced pre-order price. Nonetheless, thanks to everyone's support, I think the sales of the core game has just barely passed its development costs!

With no Monster's out in the wild, we're thinking hard about what the best way to get new copies out there for people who still want them. It might be as straight forward as taking pre-orders or... it might be as complex as returning to Kickstarter. We very much want to supply everyone that wants on with their very own copy. I just can't believe how many tasks and considerations spawn from that simple desire!

Poots back on Kickstarter??
Everyone here at HQ is a little worried about this scenario. I am not a responsible creator. Nothing about KD:M is small and easy to produce. Only crazed determination and the mostly unwavering support of thousands of fans made it possible in the first place. Our inventory manager insists that I will need 24 hour supervision should this come to pass. I think he might be right.

The future of Kingdom Death
We are at a very interesting time and place with Kingdom Death. The kickstarter is nearly behind us, the game is sold out, and all that is ahead of us is the horizon. stretching out like a big empty canvas. I admit, this is sort of a new and difficult place. I've never worked like I did these past 4 years.

We (myself and the team) took every challenge head on, locked horns with any issue, and generally learned not to compromise! All that effort and all those crazy decisions we made... have now been validated. The ambition, as ludicrous as it felt, has been reached.

Putting aside my concerns and embracing a very pure desire to create is what lead to Kingdom Death and our eventual kickstarter in the first place. Our very first release, the White Speaker, was priced so that the investment would break even.

So! In the vein of embracing the insanity, Here are some things I am excited to see on the horizon of Kingdom Death. Consider it a soft-announcement of the things that inspire me to work every morning.
•KDM - Nightmare Ram Expansion
•KDM - Ringtail Fox Expansion
•KDM - Black Knight Expansion
•KDM - Gryphon Expansion
•KDM - Frogdog Expansion
•KDM - Lantern Festival (being reworked from the ground up, might focus on towns instead of settlements)
•KDM - Storm Knight Expansion (how a survivor can become a hero)
•KDM - Custom Campaign Book (for mixing our current expansions, supported with new story events)
•KDM - Rust Ocean (area where Architects are from)
KD:Q - Kingdom Death Quest, a PVC game for mass market (gonna try distro with this!)
KD:T - Titan, a deck building game, its perspective far pulled far back to the greater entity level.
KD:L - Labyrinth, the game that highlights Twilight Knights, White Speakers and other hero level classes.
KD:2D - A retro cinematic platformer, with GORGEOUS hand made sprite animation.
•MALE PINUPS

Of course these are the far off projects that loom large and don't include the resin releases that I have the pleasure of working on everyday!

Will all of this see the light of day? Will the team rebel and overthrow me first? I certainly can't say for now, but it should be a lot of fun either way!

On one hand, it's good that he has plans for future monster releases, on the other it's a shame costs have spiralled so much that a retail release is pretty much not going to happen.

I don't think a retail release was realistic after a certain point. The content, size, and price were too prohibitive. Especially since Poots didn't want it to be discounted online.

Also the fact he sold through his stock with only 2 going to retail stores probably means it was never necessary to begin with.

Wonder how long we will be waiting for the Lantern Festival. Update says it is being completely reworked. My guess would be 12 months minimum, probably 18.
