Yep, discussion of those models should go over here:

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/90/510610.page

Pretty soon we probably won't need a separate Cyriss thread, so that there can just be one for Warmachine and one for Hordes. But not yet imo, as Cyriss are still rolling out

Is 3 the Max Unit size?

Can you take more than 1 Unit?

I understand the answer, but I don't like it. If they'd use another plastic instead of restic they'd get rid of those problems as they could add other models to the mould.

God I wish they'd move to plastic like Wyrd did....

Max UA is 3, unless you go Tier 4 Aurora, which is 5. Russ Wakelin acutally just assembled a tier 4 list. Fifteen clockwork angels. His poor, poor fingers...

I'm disappointed they didn't get three different models into that three man unit.

I like the LE one and old related model from the IK line way better. Yeah, there's something weird about the arms in particular.

I like the standard steelsoul, looks very dynamic and is appropriate as it does have defensive strike . Kinda have to like it when you need multiples of them and you couldn't get the keg protector, which are now selling for more than 4 times the regular ones' price. Grrrrr. Nice and big though, about a base and a half tall.

On the matter of top heavy, that cloak actually supports herself from the art in the book. The walking bits are more the decorative part. Speaking of decorative, the whole suit is supposed to make her look like the "maiden of gears", hence the boobs.

The clothes, eh, I dunno. Nothing flows like silk?

Check the 360 before complaining too much. She looks a lot better it other pictures. That shot doesn't do her justice.

Little disappointed with the Iron Mother, but think what is getting to me is that her neck looks too long. Hopefully the head is a separate bit and can trim down the neck to fix that.

After the debacle that was the first Convergence release in regards to quality of the resin/plastic in the battlebox, I have high doubts about the quality of these new releases (with the exception of the metal, which has remained on par with past releases. Regardless of their policy of replacing miscast pieces, I have yet to find a light vector chassis which is not completely eaten through with bubbles or has suffered from extreme warping (after two such replacements). Much as I wish to being playing WM again with Convergence, they don't seem really interested in releasing quality, just quick-release quantity (again with the exception of the metals, which so far have been neither a massive improvement nor a drop in quality).

Honestly their transition to plastic has been less than smooth, with cheap, shallow detail and some less-than-inspired poses. Hopefully with their next few releases they can prove me wrong (and I am sincerely wishing this to be true in the future).

Honestly, at least they're trying. I'm sure you remember early wargaming plastics from other companies...

I don't think this qualifies as an "early" effort for Privateer Press, though...

Indeed, and it is somewhat disheartening that there is no talk of future improvements, simply coasting in order to convert the range into a cheaper material which can at times end up requiring more work than its metal counterpart. Heck I'd like to either see them moving to full detail plastic or resin rather than just sticking with their current material.

That said, the eradicators/perforators/[can't remember name of 3rd variant of heavy infantry] do look quite interesting. Certainly makes me want to see how well they manage to translate the hovering vectors into miniature form.

It is sort of disappointing to look at my spare plastic PP models after seeing the preliminary WoK plastics. I mean, the PP models are ok... but damn, those WoK are doing it RIGHT.

There is this:
http://privateerpress.com/company/careers/privateer-press-seeks-vendor-coordinator

Which gives me some hope their plastic might be seeing improvements soon.

But in general, I agree. I have two of the plastic starter kits - and while I was happy with the end result (in terms of detail, etc) cleaning them up took waaay longer and was way more frustrating than it ought to have been. I was willing to cut them some slack because the plastic starters WERE among the very first plastics they did. But then I started seeing the horror-show of people posting their plastic Convergence pics and saw that basically no improvement had been made at all in the last 3 years. It was enough for me to put my PP plans on immediate hold indefinitely.

Does anyone know where PP's plastic production is done currently? Is it in-house? Big question I would have is what type of "plastic" they are talking about. Are they just looking for a better restic vendor or are they looking to get into the hard plastic kits?

With Wyrd and Kingdon Death going that route, PP is looking to be leapfrogged by smaller companies in regards to plastic miniature quality. From that wanted ad, it looks like they are well aware of the situation.

Considering I just sold all my WM and Hordes stuff because nobody played in my area at the time, I've just moved to an area with a thriving PP Games Community... FML.

I quite like some of the models from the Convergence, but the Jack equivalents are awful.
