Howdy all! Was thinking about jumping in and had a quick question.

Are the starters reasonably balanced in-between all the factions? Specifically the Capitol and Dark Legion sets? I'm planning on running some test games to see if I can garner some interest at the local FLGS and I was hoping the starters would be a good place to work from.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

Sadly no, the starters aren't terribly well-balanced.

The Dark Legion is a little light on points (honestly, it really could have used a bit more in there; perhaps some Necromutant squad leaders). Upgrading the two Undead Legionnaire squads with HMGs only nets you a max of 427 points (if Alakhai could take Dark Symmetry powers, things would be a bit more flexible; sadly he is not really the Psychic type).

Meanwhile, the lowest a Capitol force will come in at is 540 points. So it could be workable if you drop one of the Purple Sharks in test games (though in normal games, they are min-size of two in a squad).

But I'd almost suggest grabbing a bit more for the Dark Legion (another squad of Undead Legionnaire, another Razide and a 2-pack of Necromutants) and bring them up to 600 points and then just spread some upgrade love on Capitol (who can grab a nice 35-40 point Doctrine now and upgrade the Light Infantry to having some extras, perhaps even making one Airborne).

Dark Legion is a horde force, so balancing them out points-wise was going to be tough. That Cap manages to pack two Purple Sharks in their starter as opposed to the one walker/monster most other factions receive also gives them a fairly large bump. Though their basic troops are on the cheap side (prior to upgrades), the extra light vehicles and expensive character tend to put them ahead of most of the other boxes in point terms (un-upgraded Bauhaus comes in at 445, though with upgrades they can squeeze in quite a bit). So while many corporate factions can squeeze extras in to fill the gap, the DL box tends to come with the somewhat less flexible units (thus not much upgrade room) and the basic troops/monsters are fairly cost-efficient (read: cheap).

So in the long run, filling out the Dark Legion force a bit will make things a bit better. But if you can't afford that right off the bat, then buck the rules a bit and dump a Purple Shark from the Cap starter and things should be fairly close.

You know, I've messaged Prodos twice now since my initial email back in November and I haven't heard anything back about my order. I still haven't received anything and I would think that by now it should have come. I didn't have any of the wave 2 stuff. It was just Bauhaus and Cybertronic starters with a couple of Capital sets.

Look, we're finally getting Aliens minis--why do you have to be so negative?

It's shameful how you want to hold this company to a standard.

That's a bummer, Barzam... hope it gets sorted soon, that's obviously unacceptable.

Ahh, I was afraid of that...

How about Cybertronic, Bauhaus and Mishima, in relation to Capitol? While I very much enjoy the Dark Legion range, as long as I have Capitol everything else seems secondary =p

This is disturbing news indeed.

I hope they're paying attention and quickly figure out what's going on here and help you out.

I would like to think that Prodos doesn't only come on Dakka Dakka when it is time to stump for their latest Kickstarter campaign, and instead want to use this site to help their game and the overall wargaming community grow.

Damn, away from the rulebook right now so I can't quite remember the point costs. I'll give it a shot on Cyber and Bauhaus since I'm more familiar with them (I can only remember Ronin costs in Mishima).

A minimal Cyber list should come out to 469, but they have a lot of room for upgrades (two support weapons in each trooper squad, cybernetic enhancements and I think the Attila III comes with a few options to boot). Can't quite remember the upgrade weapon costs on the Chasseur, but it should be enough to squeeze in an extra 20-30 points to each squad and with a few implants extra they can be made quite nasty. Their leader is on the pricey side (equal to Bob Watts in Capitol). So against a minimal Capitol list (540 points or so), they should be able to make up the last 70-ish points in extras.

Minimal Bauhaus is 445, so it will be harder. But with rocket launchers on the Hussar squads and a large number of high-cost upgrades to the Hussars and Vulkan they might be able to squeak out to 540-550. I think an extra 30-40 points on the squads isn't out of the realm of possibility. With Drachen being a Close Combat warlord, she has a lot of interesting upgrades for troops. You could eat up a lot of points giving the Hussars Rapid Deployment and smoke grenades along with rocket launchers (and maybe the Medic skill on the squad leader).

So both Cyber and Bauhaus should be able to close the gap and fight Capitol on an equal footing. I have a feeling Mishima may have trouble doing the same since Ronin Samurai only get Temple Powers for upgrades and don't have much in the way of additional loadouts right now. But I have only made one demo list for them so far and I'm not super familiar with their costs.

I can give a more detailed rundown when I get home (and maybe post some example lists ).

That and I think Rob is basically handling packing (and packaging queries) full time at this point. So that may be part of the reason for the slowness. Though apparently they are down to the last 100 packages of wave 1 stuff.

I hope my mate gets his soon so I can properly throw down against Capitol. Though the demo game I ran for two friends this weekend was a blast. Either way, I can't wait until ya'll have everything, because then they can release the PDF of the rules in to the wild and I can pop that thing on my tablet (and a USB drive to take to work ).

Either way, I'm sure most of the slowness is probably just because there are so few on hand to pick and pack. This is neither the fastest nor slowest fulfillment I have seen (though the slowest appears to be occurring at roughly 1-5 packages every planetary alignment...) but I can definitely commiserate with those who haven't received theirs yet. Hopefully it ships off soon. Maybe take a wander over to the comments section of the KS and see if your postal code is amongst those heading out.

Yeah I just emailed Rob about a packing issue (No cards with my starter) and he's sending it out with Wave 2.

His email is rob.alderman@prodos.co.uk. I would reach out to him if it was an order issue, perhaps he can help.

Addendum: I have some assembled pics of the Capitol starter in my P&M Blog in my sig.

I just realized I made a big mistake. Two Purple Sharks are 100 points, not 100 each. Doh! Well that makes things easier!

Alright, here are a few lists for possible demo purposes using only the starter box contents:

Capitol - 500 points

Warlord: Big Bob Watts (250 points)
  • 1st "Bulls eyes" Marine Battalion

  • Troops: Light Infantry (75 points)
  • Upgrade Squad Commander to Medic

  • Troops: Light Infantry (75 points)
  • Upgrade Squad Commander to Medic

  • Light Vehicle: Purple Shark Squadron (100 points)

    Bauhaus - 497 points

    Warlord: Angelika Drachen (170 points)

    Troops: Hussar Squad (100 points)
  • Add ARG-17 Rocket Launcher

  • Troops: Hussar Squad (100 points)
  • Add ARG-17 Rocket Launcher

  • Light Vehicle: Vulkan Battlesuit (127 points)
  • Flank Deployment Doctrine, Schnell! Schnell! Schnell! Doctrine

  • Mishima - 500 points

    Warlord: Captain Hiroko (195 points)

    Troops: Ronin Samurai (80 points)
  • Path of True Sight (Yorama Temple)

  • Troops: Ronin Samurai (75 points)
  • Blast of the Hurricane (Yorama Temple)

  • Light Vehicle: Meka (150 points)

    Cybertronic - 500 points

    Warlord: Everassur (210 points)

    Troops: Chasseur Squad (91 points)
  • Add two PR4000 'Blasters'

  • Troops: Chasseur Squad (91 points)
  • Add two PR4000 'Blasters'

  • Support: Attila Mk. III (108 points)
  • Optical Enhancement, Steel Skin

  • Dark Legion - 427 points

Warlord: Alakhai the Cunning (220 points)

    Troops: Undead Legionnaire (66 points)
  • Add two Valcheck HMGs

  • Troops: Undead Legionnaire (66 points)
  • Add two Valcheck HMGs

  • Support: Razide (75 points)
  • upgrade weapon to Nazgaroth

  • So actually, more balanced than I first assumed, with only the Dark Legion one suffering because of a lack of upgrade options out of the box (and being more horde-like than the rest). But everyone else is pretty well set to make a 500 point list with the contents of the box. So if you still feel like doing Dark Legion as an antagonist, I'd grab a two-pack of Necromutants and give the Undead Legionnaire some proper squad leaders. This makes each squad 96 points (20 to replace the acting squad leader, 10 to add in the newly freed up 6th model). This brings them to 487 (if you have a proxy zombie, bump one squad to seven members and call it a day). So things aren't all that bad (just a single 2-pack and a spare zombie to bring 'em in line) but they are definitely not ready to make a 500 points list out of the box (and most boxes can field over 430 without any upgrades, so dumping stuff wont let them buy down to the level of the DL).

And just to give you an idea of how it plays at 500 points, the game we played on the weekend was 600 but with the same character+two squads+support/vehicle and it was damn fun. It played fast but still felt satisfying. Though I could see the fun of going to larger 800-1000 point games, the 500-600 "starter box plus some stuff" range feels like a hell of a lot of fun as well.

    Either way, hope that helps.

Well, I actually got a response this morning. At the very least, it seems that my stuff hasn't disappeared. They just haven't sent it yet. Apparently there's a bunch of people from the first shipment group whose goods still haven't been shipped out and I just happen to be one of those "lucky" people. They say my stuff should be shipped before the end of the month. Let's hope so, because when they responded to my original inquiry back in November they said they would try and get it out before the end of the week.

The Final one for 1st Year of Warzone Resurrection!

Hi guys, we are almost there with shipping! only 80 to go! And they will be shipped Monday/Tuesday next week.

    Now the Q&A

    1. Prodos, My post code is not on the list below, when will my Parcel arrive?

If you parcel is not on the list below there are 3 possibilities:

    A. It will be shipped Monday/Tuesday

    B. It is already in transit (sent through "drop and go" service, so we will get only confirmation once the parcel is delivered)

    C. If your parcel is not delivered by 15 of January please contact orders@warzonegame.com, we will then track it for you.

    2. Prodos I got my stuff but I have some missing pieces!

In most of the cases we are aware of missing content but to clarify:

    A. We have ran out of templates due to malfunction of our Laser Cutter, the templates are getting outsourced and we should have them in the beginning of Jan for 2nd wave.

    B. Heavies and Diorama, getting printed as we type this post, they are scheduled in Jan for 2nd wave.

    C. KS exclusive cards, designed and in print.

    D. Some cards were damaged in transit to us, so we ran low on stock, they are in print for 2nd wave.

    3. Prodos my friends got they orders, why its taking so long to ship it all.

This one is a bit difficult to answer, so let me put this way, we are working with Licensed product, meaning that, as a small company we cannot over man as some of the profit goes away to the License owners, so we have to be careful with our business plan, manpower for packing parcels and importantly to make sure we have left some cash for future Warzone investments (like Imperial).

So we do what we can to make sure we won't blow the budget.

There are a couple of issues we have had during fulfilling of the KS which we do not plan to repeat:

A, 120K cards sent in several packages, completely out of any Faction order - supplier misunderstood our needs...

    B. Our passion for Warzone exceeded our intentions and we ended up with 4 times more product to make after KS than we originally planned.

    4. Prodos in numbers in the last 10 months of Warzone:

    1. Produced 50K+ models

    2. Used 400 moulds (300 Kg of silicon!)

    3. 2560 work hours on sculpting

    4. 200000 words of Rulebook

    5. 3200 work hours on casting

    6. 3000 3D print hours

    7. 250 unique models designed

    8. 120000 cards with 450 unique designs

    9. Imperial Corpbook development almost completed (25k+ words)

    10. 2 Tons of Urethane plastic transformed in to miniatures!

    11. 113 KFC large buckets and over 500 Redbulls consumed (they should become our sponsors!) + countless cups of coffee.

Here is where it gets funny, after KS we were looking to outsource a bit of our manufacturing, and every company (in Europe and in China) we went to said to us: "no way you will make 54 different units (almost 250 unique models) in 6 months, that will take 2.5 years to develop and manufacture, at least..." so big wave to the unbelievers ;]

Why I am sharing this with you? Just imagine what we can do in another 12 months for Warzone!

    5. Will AvP affect Warzone?

YES it will! as someone said "Customers will know us for AvP but they will love us for Warzone!". We will cater to fans of both games and we will never stop developing Warzone as long as we are allowed to.

Thanks again for all your support and Happy Holidays.

We are here through Xmas so feel free to contact me at service@prodos.co.uk.

Got my stuff in earlier in the week and I have to say that I am quite impressed. The rulebook alone was worth the wait. Full color, easy to read, rules aren't all over the place and the current faction fluff is an enjoyable read.

The models are fantastic... I can't wait to get all my stuff unpacked and get these armies painted up! Some have lost a small amount of detail compared to the 3D rendering, but nowhere near enough to make me want to email for replacements.

Also, the cards look pretty nice, though are slightly larger than regular cards, but I can see how it is useful seeing as several of them have a ton of unit information. The artwork for the cards uses both new and old art, which I like.

The only thing I am sad about is the level of flash some of the models have. It isn't hard to get off and clean up, I guess I am not used to it.

All in all, extremely happy with my purchase and the wait.

No. I did not receive an email. From the postmark on the box, it took 5 days to get across the pond to the middle of the US. So, if you weren't on the above list and was likely getting it sent to you the week after, add about 7 days to that date (27th) and you should be receiving it roughly by then (today/tomorrow, it looks like).

This is assuming they got the last of their product out by then. If they got it out the beginning of this week, then expect it no later than the beginning of next.

Those who got theirs, did it come registered mail and you had to pick it up at the post office for some reason? Got one of those pink slips today to get something at the post office and I have no clue what it might be(PO is almost an hour away so I didnt go after work)

EDIT: Managed to find my way to the West Orange county Post office where the ticket said it was. Yeah they made a mistake, apparently they sent a route runner from their PO to East Orlando to fill in and he used his tickets instead of the ones he was supposed to use so another thirty minute drive there plus a good 45 minute wait in line talking to a very nice older Columbian woman who wouldnt shut up I finally get to the counter to pick up my item totally expecting the package from Prodos. Yeah the lady saw my crestfallen face when she approached with a small envelope and commented that "it wasnt what I was expecting was it?". (it was only some shoulder pads for a 40k project from Puppet wars). I sadly drove 30 minutes home to face the COLD VORTEX! and check the blankets on my citrus trees and be sad.
