The first tank looks like a rip-off of the Akuyaku No. 1 "Bad Guy" tank by Miyazaki, which is also released in kit form by Asuka.

Though it wouldn't be the first time this was done to that model.

The argument could certainly be made since the Akuyaku popped up around 1985 in Model Graphix (I believe). Though hard to prove, since it only ever appeared in Japanese-language only modelling magazines and rare kits from that point and there wasn't exactly a huge market for Japanese stuff in the West just yet (though this was also the birth of Robotech in the US, so who knows). The Grizzly appeared (I think) at its earliest in 1995 and I think the original definitely has a lot of similarities that point to Miyazaki's tank being the inspiration (mostly the Char-style tracks, twin rear turrets and the crow's nest). For all we know it was a case of model/design telephone tag where someone saw an Akuyaku in the late 80's, made a neat scratch build that showed up in Swedish modelling mag and the designers thought it looked cool and popped something similar in to Mutant Chronicles. Hard to know back in the misty times before mass internet availability.

The more generally available Akuyaku didn't pop up until around 2005 (and I think it appeared in a more generally available art book in 1997). So it would depend on how in to Japanese culture the original designers were. But I'd say the original Grizzly was almost definitely an homage to the Akuyaku (one way or another), too many similar key design features for parallel development.

The new version definitely has several key differences to finally divorce the design a bit more from the Akuyaku, which is a good thing. Still has the distinctive rear turrets (though the design is quite different on them), but loses the rounded features, crow's nest and most importantly, the size. This one actually has a lot more in common now with the Char series of tanks that inspired bits of the Akuyaku itself. The more angular design is very reminiscent of someone taking a Char 2C giving it the B1's treads and then giving it a few extra turrets ala the T-35 (oh and making it the size of the Maus). Hard to find a better description of the Bauhaus than taking a tank that is such a mutt.

Well you're certainly into tanks Ronin, I have no idea what even half of that means.
But if you really want to know Chris from Modiphius is doing an interview with Fredrik Malmberg, who was CEO of Target the company behind mutant chronicles and is asking us to submit questions over at the MC3ed facebook page, perhaps you could try to get it in there.

Are you finding a lot of issues?

So far my purple sharks don't line up when assembled leaving huge gaps.

Sea Lions were mold slipped.. Looked atrocious both bodies and legs.

Free Marines do not fit together leaving big gaps between the legs and torsos.

I sent pics to Prodos but I am a but flustered just wondering if I got a bad batch or if it is standard.

The larger number of bad casts right now is due to them stressing out so many minis in such a short time. You seem to have gotten worse than most but I'd say it's not uncommon that people got something that was a bit off.

I notice that Prodos is down as one of the traders at this years Salute. Do they generally have a decent range of stock at shows?

My sharks were also miscast. Even with little pieces of mold stuck underneath but most other miniatures were fine except for the really thin spears for the Valks and a snapped blade on the crucifier.

Other stuff I disliked is the heads or rather the lack of variety. Other than the sharks there are not variants for sergeants or custom heroes in my order.

But outside that even with all my complaining about the mess PRODOS did with the delivery I cannot fault them on average quality.

How is their material to work with? I'm hoping it's similar to the 'resin' plastic that Alkemy uses.

Also, any word on when they will reach an American distributor?

Well, no shipping notices yet. I believe they said to be patient until this week. If I hear nothing by Wednesday, it'll be time to start complaining.

Still waiting to hear something. They have been quiet since that last update, even on their forum except for some "We check our email regularly." Answers to people who didn't get email answers. I avoid their facebook page, far too many rabid, Prodos can do no wrong, fanboys. Maybe something has been said there.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.

Col. Dash- I finally got my emails to go through, and Rob has been great with communication since then. Did you send to orders@warzonegame.com ? I was sending to the orders@prodos.co.uk address and they kept getting lost in the ether. Just a thought.

Looks like the super-heavies are almost ready for production.

Here is a shot of the Cap tank master. Apparently just needs a bit more clean up before it is ready to go.

Edit - They are hoping to have it ready for production by Sunday it seems.

This is looking different than the deep blue hue of their normal masters. I wonder if they are using a more traditional hard resin for the large vehicle kits or if this is from a new/different printer?

It seems Prodos has avoided an annoyed email. I got my tracking number today. Found the email in my spam box, so be sure and check yours.

Interestingly, they're shipping through something called Parcel Force. I'm curious how that's going to arrive.

My buddy's finally arrived on Saturday (ironically it came to his place as he was over at mine for games night with the guys ). So while the other two folks will be continuing on with getting a start on the next Deadzone round, I'll hopefully be filling his Capitol stuff full o' holes in the name of the Homebuilders. It will be my first proper game of Warzone where I'm not providing all the figs, I can't wait now.

Parcel Force is the big/heavy stuff arm of the UK's Royal Mail so I would think it will feed into your normal postal system (USPS from your flag?) in the same way

This is how mine came, and i can confirm. Speaking on my pledge.....

So I just got my kick starter pledge. I was super excited, but as I'm putting it together i'm getting more and more disappointed.

so far the Bauhaus Vulcan is suffering from realy bad miscast and mould shift. I'm going to have to try and rescuplt whole details now on the model. I don't find this expectable for a resin product. I have no idea how this modle passed QC. I have been takeing pics of the modle and can post the issues i've been haveing here if people wish to see.

I also feel their is huge design issues with the Hussars.

They are way to hard to assemble, they should of been something like:
-The Right arm and gun should of been one parts
-Torso and legs should of been one parts
-Shoulderpads separate
-The legs are spread so far apart they stand on the lip of their 30mm base. Makes it hard to glue them to their base.

I also found these two issues with the design in general:
-The spike on the helmet is so small I've broken the damn things off with a paintbrush, or just brushing them with a finger. Totally unacceptable for a wargameing mini. I'm disapointed i can't have spiked helmets.
-The belt on the torso is not thick enough, and blends into the jump suit. At 1st i was wondering why they removed the belt.

Otherwise the hussars seem to be well cast. Just a paint in the ass to put together.

I still have more bauhaus, mishima, and Capitol stuff to go threw. I love the design of these mini's but I hope the rest don't disapoint like these 1st have.

I'd like to see that. Also, it might help to get the issue addressed as well. When the first cybertronic orders were sent out, someone posted some pics here and they got a response directly from the company. You should *NEVER* have to resculpt details due to poor QA (filling minor gaps and holes in flat surfaces is occasionally acceptable depending on the extent). I'm considering getting Warzone minis at the retail level and would appreciate seeing the pics to identify potential issues. If I'm special ordering at my local store (which likely I'd have to do instead of them stocking it themselves), QA issues on one of the few units that I'd want (the vulcan) would be helpful in making my decision.

Yes, please post pictures!

I was on the fence about this one during the KS campaign, and I'm still interested in it, if I can find some local-ish players.

But pictures of what to expect will be appreciated!

Here is what I've found so far:

I hope you didn't want to have spikes on your huaasrs helmets. The flash is about as thick as these tiny spikes, and a gentle pass of the finger breaks them off.

The top carry handles on the hussar guns are also a detail i hope no one was counting on haveing.

almost every huaasr gun i've gone threw has a glob of resin were the carry handle should of been. I've had to snip this off everyone to make them look right.

I also think the huassars are abit rediculus to get glues to the 30mm base. They don't even stand inside the lip!

Now the vulcan.... This modle has been a mess. I forgot to take pics of the mould distress marks that were on both guns. Also on one of the legs the mould shift distorded the gear on the knee pad, and i had to scrap it off to make it look "right".

Examples of the mould shift that happened:

Hard to see in this one, but the top right cornor is raises a mm or two above the rest of the vent along the mould line.

Even more dramatic mould shift on the arms:

The groin plate thingy is a right off.

Sorry for the blurry pic, but see that huge bumb comeing out the back of the torso? That's just a huge round blob of resin, that looks like it formed from mould rip.

Bassicly it looks like my vulcan came from a mould that should of been retired, and never should of been sent out.
=/

Wow, that sucks a bit. Outside of the tiny helmet spikes (and tiny flamed bits on my Juggernauts) my Bauhaus stuff has been fine (no issues with the gun rail). I'd get in touch with them and get the guns and vulkan replaced though. My two vulkans certainly didn't come out like that. Those are definitely in need of replacement. Luckily they have at least listened to the fans about thin pieces and improved on many sculpts to make them more manufacturable. At least this issue didn't take as long to sort out as Corvus Belli's love of impossible to glue diddly bits. Good luck on getting replacements.

Looks like they pushed their molds a bit too hard for too long without replacing them. Hopefully my stuff is near the beginning of a mold's life cycle if it ever gets to me :(

That said, I am at least slightly puzzled by the calls for blood at this point. I mean, 90% of fulfilment has passed, inside the next week or so another 5% will go.

Because we 10% were not part of that 90% fulfillment? Everyone else getting their stuff does not equal fulfillment on our part or make us even remotely happy. This stuff was supposed to be shipped a very long time ago. That and the book is only in PDF and apparently not in book form yet is a further annoyance since I have no printer nor can I use the printers at work since the PDF is blocked. The rules and publications should have been finished a long time ago as well as they are by far the easiest to do. This project was according to early notices not funded by KS but augmented, so once again, using KS as an excuse is a non-starter. Plus those of us who haven't gotten our stuff know that they are wasting resources on the Aliens game which some of us have zero interest and that is taking resources away from the project we are interested. They should never have started a new project when the old project hadn't even gotten out the door.

In addition Warzone has had a very rough run of it. I don't know a single shop that was in existence back in the original Warzone days that will even take a risk on this new version, which means all sales at this point will be to a company with a proven bad shipping record. I had one store tell me he didn't even want to see it in his store after he got burned so bad the last time. Now I know what happened to 1st and 3rd editions of the game and know it was beyond the companies' control as to why they went down. The newest edition is already getting off to a very rough start and doesn't bode well for the future.

Just FYI, the book does exist and is sitting right beside me. Its gorgeous and well worth the wait my friend!

I don't like the waiting either but having been on the other side of the coin as a shipping clerk when the shipper messed up (a UPS truck caught fire on the dock- with my companies outgoing orders) I can certainly sympathize. And with the PDFs in hand now I can plan out my next purchases to finish my armies.
The bigger concern to me is it sounds like the molds are being used a little too long, which then could mean more delays as i photograph and then wait for replacements.

Of course with this timing i might now just get one package with the Death Egg and Icarus included.

Slightly off topic, but it looks like the Mutant Chronicles Roleplaying Game is going to get us some new minis from Prodos and Mophidius as well. There will be conversions to Warzone:Resurrection. These are a couple of days old, but here are the first renders for heretics.

Cool for the conversion thing, but the basic Warzone rules should include generic commanders just like in past editions, we can equip from a list, which unlock troop types so we are not forced to bring named characters. I always hated special characters in games, preferring to build my own, this game is no exception.
