Hi All,

First post here, thought I'd share a project I'm working on. Some female Guard.

Just one fig at the moment and 2 heads. The rest of the 10 girl squad are being worked on now. Heads are separate and on a shallow ball joint

Size next to a male Imperial Guard

Hopefully this is the right place to post them.

Cheers

Adam

Is that an undermount grenade launcher or is her flashlight twin-linked?

Originally a UGL but could easily be painted as a twin linked flashlight.

Great looking girl guards there!

Your GS skills are fantastic, how do you get such smooth surfaces? Are these GS over a base model or completely built up from an armature? Either way they very cool looking! I like the kit bags and pouches (do you have a source?) and the poses are great too

Nice work, keep 'em coming!

Cheers, GS just smoothed with good old fashioned spit I'm afraid..

The model was built over an armature I made. The guns, pouches etc are sculpted by myself and cast.

This is just the first figure of a full squad.

Thinking of doing heavy weapon squads and command too.

Looking pretty good to me, though she does kind of look like she is wearing 3/4 length trousers.

Pretty neat! But I think you should up the scale, women are not that puny in the 41st millenium!

I disagree but only because I don't want my guardsman to be buffier than my marines. Even the cadians are big.

They look great however. Great work so far. Can't wait to see them finished

I wanted to make them smaller than the men, it helps to show theyre ladies, without having to go the " ridiculously exaggerated bums and boobs" look (as my better half normally scorns... )

@Millsbomb, not planning to sell the guns at the moment I'm afraid as only have a few casts.

I just think they shouldn't look so diminutive. Plus, her helmet needs an Imperial aquila!

I've been playing around with ideas for transports for these girls. I wanted something a little different. I put this together this afternoon. Need to add some riveting etc, but I think I may go down the MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) route.

Like I say, just some ideas and still need to detail the model up. I may well still scrap this and go conventional Chimera.

Needs something as I think its looking a little too "real world" at the moment.

Yeah, I think it is a little bit too "real world", as you say. Personally if you made a slightly more slimline APC than the Chimera I think it would fit in much better with the established look of the 40K universe.

That vehicle is way too realistic to be in 40k, why are there windows? But if you wanted a vehicle like that you could probably make something that looks like the APC from "Aliens" but with treads instead of wheels,

If you can find Old Crow Claymore APCs they can be trimmed down a bit tova s, ightly slimmer chimera size and they look very LAV like.

Am working through the rest of the figures at the moment. The figures start off almost like stick men, so am just starting to bulk them up.

Will continue show the progress of how they're built if you're interested
