It seems kind of interesting, but I don't really see a whole lot of nurgle bikers around these parts. T6 with such movement and possibility of cover saves seems really appealing to me, and at 26 points a wound, they seem better than MCs with the same toughness. I mean you can throw out 10 of these guys for much cheaper than most of the MCs in the CD codex. Although they aren't as potent as MCs, you can take them in such numbers that they can be. Here's how i would run them:

Chaos Sorcerer 250
Chaos Bike, Two Extra Mastery Levels, Mark of Nurgle, Spell Familiar, Blight Grenades, The Black Mace, Gift of Mutation, Force Axe, Veteran of the Long War, Sigil of Corruption

Chaos Bikes (10) 355
Mark of Nurgle, Two Plasma Guns in Exchange for Twin-linked Bolters, Veterans of the Long War, Sergeant – Powerfist, Combi-Plasma, Gift of Mutation

You see, this is what I think can be really nice as a spot for allies. Potent and expensive, but I think they can make their points back pretty easily. 12 T6 wounds with a 3+ armour, and if you turbo-boost to within 8", they have a 3+ cover. Roll 2 powers with the sorcerer on biomancy to beef him up or telepathy to get invisibility and make these guys t6 with a 2+ cover. Biomancy will make the sorcerer absolutely ridiculous, either if he gets Iron Arm or Warp Speed, and all of the other things are pretty damn good, with only life-leech and haemorrhage being sub-par. I don't think they need to be fearless, as both of the champions are Ld10 and everyone else is Ld9.

Anyone else find Nurgle bikers to be as awesome as i think they are?
What ways do you guys see them being run?

I'm assembling a unit of nurgle bikers myslef, but keep in mind that they can be countered by many things. T6 is nice but plasma, melta, lances, thunder hammers, power fists and pretty much all artillery will still wound you and kill you easily. To really be survivable, you have to try and be in CC or hidden a good part of the time, where the S3-4 attacks of the enemy will be laughed off by your tougness and armor and you will get cover from high-grade fire.

That sorcerer is brutally expensive for something that may end up rolling bad powers and being a liability. When it works it will be great, but often enough you will need to deal with rolling a crappy Nurgle Power or Haemorrage. I'd drop the Black Mace to try and bring his cost under control; you can get almost two extra bikers for its cost!

In Boxing matches, you actually get paid to take a dive and make the other guy look good.

In Warhammer 40K, you're expected to pay cash out of your pocket for the privilege of having Marines and IG trample all over your Xenos/Chaos.

True true, I might end up dropping a lot of things from him. Maybe run him bare with nothing but a bike, three mastery levels, and a spell familiar. Roll on telepathy and half the games the bikes will have a 2+ cover just for moving. Good idea?

I played a bike army for most of 5th edition. Nurgle bikers make that player in me giddy with excitement. Point-for-point they are extremely effective.

If there is any drawback with Nurgle bikers, its that they are expensive models to build up, dollar wise.

I want to field Nurgle Bikers but I really have no Idea how to build a large squad of them where every model still looks interesting and different.

There is only one CSM Bike model around. If I buy it 10 times I have to mod it somehow to still work. I would appreciate any advice on that.

Regarding list building: I find the sorcerer too expensive. His powers do not save him from being killed. His profile is just too bad for a 250pt HQ.
I'd field multiple units of bikers to max plasma and engage multiple targets. And a general with Brand or Mace or Murdersword. That way I can add plaguemarines as standard

I've never done it, so it might not be easy, but couldn't you kit bash the bikes with some plague marines?

Star Trek taught me so much. Like, how you should accept people, whether they be black, white, Klingon or even female...

Buy a box of CSM (or dig through your bits bin)

Add lots of chainswords, different heads, etc..

Look at what I did with these vanilla bikes. I just took assault marine bits and added them to my bikes. You can do the same with nurgle bikes easily and make them look really cool.

It seems to me that you could get at keast another 4 bikers for the price of that sorceror and field 2 units of Nurgles sacred number... that would obviously be more effective and garner great benefit from Father Nurgle

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

I'm getting Dark Vengeance bikes, filing away the imperial symbols, and using Chaos bits to make them spiky and trade the arms and heads of the DA models for chaotic counterparts. It takes a bit of work but it's not difficult.

I'm also on the lookout for the odd bike on Ebay.

I tend to run my nurgle bikers with melta and not plasma simply because with plasma you are as likely to hurt yourself as getting shot with a boltgun.
