Got two games in at the club meeting at my FLGS...

What armies were pitted against each other?
Game 1: Yu Jing (me) vs. Nomads
Game 2: Yu Jing (me) vs. Pan-O Knights Sectorial
Both games at 250

What were your (in game) objectives? What were your opponent's (in game) objectives?
Both game were YAMS missions.
First game I can't remember what I needed to do as I got totally trashed
Second game I had prize fighter, mapping, advance, and decimate. He had get all his dudes out of zone, prize fighter and a couple others I can't remember

Did you win or lose?
lost first game badly
second game I decimated (no pun intended) his forces but he had 4 objective points to my two due to him doubling down.


Any Awesome moments?
First game I had no awesome moments... just nothing I did worked out. AD behind his line with HMG Tiger and either didn't hit a dang thing or he made armor rolls. It was like that the entire match with him sprinkling in about 3 crits at key moments. Is anyone else annoyed when the crits to the HI troops happen after they take the first wound?? Seems to happen only that way to me!

Second game I had a few... best was my HMG Tiger taking out three of his heavy hitters after dropping in first turn. I would have tried to do the mapping objective with him but you can't map first turn... he died quickly after this lightning strike.

Any unlucky moments?
First game was filled with them. But the worst was my ninja getting in CC with one of his HI troops and then whiffing the to hit roll... sad panda.

Second game losing the Daofei to a crit. Not terribly bad as it was one of two losses I took in the match but he was my most expensive unit so I just gave him another objective. Oh and totally wiping him out except for his 65 LT....

Did you learn anything?
Always double down on something. It at least gives you a fighting chance. Advance everyone out of the zone sucks to fight against as I had wiped all but that one figure out but it was out of his DZ... so he gets the double down.

And I learned to drop my AD better and use better target priority when I have the drop on multiple targets.

We had the same objectives, which were randomly drawed from the YAMS cards (and made the game kind of a simple deathmatch =P :
- Flag kill
- Advance ( bring 3 models over midfield )
- Attrition ( have more points on the table )
- Hold ( Don't be in retreat )

Any Awesome moments?

An immobilised Asura surviving 4 Heavy Rocket launcher rounds to the face. Then on my turn, Resetting, destroying that repeater, jumping off the catwalks and then gunning that cursed Sekban =P

Any unlucky moments?

Really awesome but unlucky for me. Having Eudoros blindly charge forward, shooting at a Sekban, having all the odds on his side. And yet, a single ARO reduced him to ashes, along with his Naga buddy hidden behind some boxes. Hopefully, I had expected Eudoros to fall and his successor well earned the couple points for Chain of command.


Did you learn anything?

If my opponent had a couple more orders, I would have probably lost when he immobilised my Asura. She did pretty much all the heavy lifting since Eudoros died before he did anything useful. ( She now deserves the official mini =P )
Didn't really learned it because I voluntarily wanted to play the Asura, but having 1 model worth most of your points is not a good idea. If she had died, I would have needed to finish off the opponent with Myrmidons with chain rifle and Thorakitai with SMG. Not optimal =P Curse those Naffatuns

Any Awesome moments?

- An Ectros lived though an attack from 3 Antipodes, successfully killing them off after 3 rounds.
- Aleph character link team pounded the front lines of the Nomads like a German hooker. I was able to slow them and finally break the team... but the Aleph character doctor finished the job (man he is nasty).
- Aleph forgot their was a crazy koala in a building with a window right next to the landing spot of an ekdromos. His drops in, sticks the land, and goes BOOM.


Any unlucky moments?

Outranged by an Agema Marksman my TR bot couldn't do anything but cry from a smoke /msv trick.


Did you learn anything?

Pretty cut and dry, but I did get a reminder of how powerful the new Aleph Characters are.

Moderator link team sniper got a bullet between his eyes from Atlantia even with his 3 shots.

6 Morlocks vs triple MSV2 aleph turned them into hardcore suicide runners.

Ectros in a Tohaa link with viral rifle is effing mean.

My last game was a practice game against myself. :-) I am responsible for teaching this game to the other people in my gaming group so I have been playing many games against myself to practice the rules. These games have had some very tense and crazy moments.

I only have 2 armies to play so I always have Haqqislam vs. Ariadna

This game's objective was to control some ammo boxes in the middle of the board.

Any Awesome moments?
The first round went clearly to Haqqislam. My Ariadna forces should have won without question but some very bad dice rolling and the Haqqislam forces absolutely dominated. The second game reversed roles and watched as my 3rd highlander grey went postal on the entire left flank of the Haqqislam army. He took out 3 models and wounded another before being killed by a Ghulam knife to the face when he tried to attack with CC. That was followed by a veteran Kazak taking out the remaining wound on a Janissary to end the game.



Any unlucky moments?
It seems for my Ariadna forces in the first game there were many. Namely having a 3 burst round of 13's vs. an ARO of 4 and loosing to a critical. Pulling a sniper out of cammo for a suicidal shot on a djanbazan only to miss BADLY and get shot by the resulting ARO's.


Did you learn anything?
The biggest thing I have learned is that many times I look at a game and think 1 side didn't stand a chance and was surprised when they were victorious. The games ARO system provides for some great balance. I haven't been able to field anything yet that was completely unstoppable.

Get to beacons on the centre line and decode data, carry out what ever objective is rolled up. In this case it was 'advance!' which was to get out of deployment zone

lost... badly 6-1

Any Awesome moments?
-Chasseur flaming Achillies and a Myrmidon getting rid of their ODD and then shooting then with Loup Garou linkteam
-Sticking a Myrmidon Officer with ADHL
-Passing 6 ARM rolls with my Loup Garou link team in 1 turn VS Achillies
-Para Commando with HMG dropping behind Patrocles and wasting him!!

Any unlucky moments?
Failing to take down Achillies with about 9 Viral Rifle shots

ODDs suck, I suck. Linked Loup Garou are pretty awesome

-Losing Kazak Sniper to Myrmidon Combi at 30+ inches in Face to Face first roll of the game, i needed 8 to hit he needed 4s. He crit.
-Lost 4 Kazaks to extreme range Combi critting.
-Losing my whole right flank to one Myrmidon in the first turn
-Spending ~12 orders on my other Kazak Sniper and only wounded one Mrymidon (needed 8s to hit)
-Getting critten even 3rd/4th roll (no exaggeration)
-Kazaks with HMGs did absolutly nothing, i think one of them moved, once, and then got critted by a Combi at extreme range.

Did you learn anything?
ODDs suck, I suck. Line Kazaks suck. I have no luck

Sounds like your opponent(s) had some hot dice and sadly it happens in any dice game. Just point out though that ODD all over the place is a direct counter to pretty much anything you listed there.

Antipodes and werewolves with chain rifles will teach ODD some manners.

Yeah I know, there is not much in Ariadna that can take ODD. I have never had any luck with Antipodes or Dog Warriors so I rarely take them. He got so many crits he started appologising. especially when he crit with a pistol at 22inches

Standard annihilation game.

Did you win or lose?
It ended up being a draw as the FLGS was closing and we had to get out of there. Although, if the points were totaled up, I was probably the loser. Which is normal.

Any Awesome moments?
> One of my Bulleteers being awesome and shrugging off constant fire from two snipers, one with a viral sniper rifle.
> My Nisse sniper taking two structure points off of Chem's Magh.
> Chem's Magh being destroyed by his Engineer as the Engineer attempted to repair the Magh. (This was awesome for me, unlucky for Chem =D )

Any unlucky moments?
> My two Nisse's (sniper & HMG) dying from stupid viral rounds
> Chem's Fiday sneaking behind my lines and none of my guys making their discover checks.

I ended up deploying second as well as going second, so this time I used the cover to my advantage. His first turn he only ended up killing one of my Fusiliers with the HGL on the Magh. So I definitely did a better job setting up defensively. Although, I think it did handicap me slightly as he was able to set up some fire lanes to prevent me from moving my troops forward. I created the list I used on the spot, but overall I'm pretty happy with it. Ended up with 14 orders, as well as a couple of heavy hitters that I can move forward. Plus the TO Hexas, which, if I can actually use, will be fun.

Overall, a good game to shake off some of the cobwebs.

We had 2 common objectives ( worth 2 VPs each)
and 2 secret personnal objectives ( worth 1 VP each)

Common objectives :
- Clear the area ( have no active models in your deployment zone )
- Forward base ( have an active model in base to base contact with that big MAS Appartment in the middle of the map. And no enemy model base to base =P )

His objectives :
- Kill the pigeon ( civilian )
- Blockade ( Have no enemy models in your deployment zone )

My objectives :
- Attrition ( have more points on the table )
- Kill the leader ( lieutenant )

When all hope is lost and I've lost 4 models in the first turn, my Veteran Kazak Lieutenant takes his rifle and gun his way into enemy territory. We were playing the game listening to Django' Soundtrack and so he earned a name =P At the end of the game, Django had killed an Asawira, a lasiq, a djanbazan and an Halqa doctor =)
As we are playing kind of a campaign ( We made a 1000 points list and we pick models from this list for games. When a model dies, he's removed from the list. First player to reach 0 points or surrender loses
Now opponent really wants Django dead now =P

Any unlucky moments?

Not so much as bad deployment from my part. I started the game with 2 HMG, an MK12 and a chain rifle in position for AROs but my opponent deployed his last 2 units ( thanks to Saladin ) in a bad position for me. First turn, his Lasiq and Djanbazan sniper downed both HMG, the chain rifle and scored a wound of the MK12.

Do not underestimate the mighty rifle !
More seriously, I didn't think Saladin' Stratego would mess me up that much. I should have added diversity to my weapons. After the death of my 2 HMGs, all I had was rifles =P

Just had my first game of infinity, 150 points my CHA sectorial against his Pan-O knightly orders (something like that) sectorial. It was amazingly good fun, I lost (never really expected to win my first game) and we left some rules alone like the below 60% start retreating rule, just so I could learn basic mechanics, and it was incredibly fun. Between this and warmachine, I'm going to be playing even less warhammer than I currently am...

Had one of those games where you feel sorry for your opponent because the atrocious amount of good luck you have!

Seriously, lost track of how many crits I rolled - highlight was Lasiq Sniper nailing an Asura in a single shot (across the board, in cover) with a double crit, and then my Djanbazan hacker nonchalantly blowing away a Myrmidon with a crit from her shotgun as it ran in to attack her in CC.

Had my second game on Thursday. Yu Jing starter vs Haqqislam starter. Objectives were to learn the rules so just a basic annihilation.

Learned the sniper rifle is badass and I can't use the Domaru at all. Also learned it takes a lot to get your head around the order procedure and you can really get some funky movement going on. Ducking in and out of cover snapping off rounds anyone?

I had one of those games yesterday. My Kaplan with MULTI Sniper Rifle in my 5 man Kaplan linkteam killed an Aquila Guard and a Nisse Sniper in ARO on HIS first turn. My Mobile Brigade needed a 1 to hit his Hexa Sniper, rolled a 1 and his total reaction sierra was taken down by druze combi AROs. He was in retreat by the time it was my first turn. We restarted the game and the same thing happened again.

Lucky, long range shot vs enemy heavy infantry. Needed a one to hit, which I got and it ended up being a crit which killed him

Fear TO snipers, they're very hard to dislodge.

Any Awesome moments?
My (newly painted!) lone chasseur held midfield for the entirety of my opponent's turn, gunning down 3 of his troops in ARO, dodging sniper fire, and passing a few ARM rolls before finally biting the bullet.

Any unlucky moments?
My linked metro HMG ate it in a FtF against his sniper. Burst 5 meansnothing against a crit. That sniper shut me down for the rest of the game.

Did you learn anything?
I either need AD troops or more long-range firepower to deal with snipers. Also, it's always good to try and Max SWC and take redundant HMGs.

I suggest the 20pt Parra Commando. I took one in a recent local 150pts tourney and it cleaned up every game.
Over 3 games she didn't die and she:
-Hardcore flanked the enemy killing 2 Fusiliers and capturing the enemy DZ objective.
-Killed 3 Moderators (in a link team, one was the LT) and a total reaction remote wiping out the remainder of the enemy in my first turn.
-Killed a PanO hacker and drove the Trauma Doc into the open to be killed by a Chasseur. She effectivly wiped out the order pool of his Aquila Guard.

Cannot stress to you enough how awesome they are... and don't even get me started on the 32|1 HMG option

Oh yeah, I usually run with a double AD mirage 5 and HMGmando list. I was trying a list different from my norm and got stomped :C

Probably a bad idea to try a list you haven't played before at a tourney, but I don't get to play too often. Still, I did have third place until I got destroyed in that last match.

My MRRF list won me that tournament it was just a local non ITS but it still counts :p

My most recent game was a campaign one v a nomad army heavy on the Sisters of perpetual indulgence. Nuns with buns and Sin Eaters. I had QK.

Got a minor win against him based on objective points - but put him both into retreat and LoL in the third turn.

I had NO MSV and was shooting at ODD (-6) and needing 5's and 6's to crit for the most part. My dice were on fire.

My doc came to the fore, also (ghulam). Reviving three models (two of them twice) to allow them to continue on their killing sprees.

a Kurgat wit Boarding Shotgun killed about 3 enemies in ARO on long distance, he realy was MVP in the game

Any unlucky moments?
first round: enemy moves to the first objective (long way away from my guys) revealing the Tohaa diplomate, from this moment I just fought to get a draw
my second turn: I try to reveal my objective, the coffin expoldes and killes my poor Morat
third turn: my Sogarat tries to shoot the link team, getting killed by a missile (AND he is such a fat bad mother*******)

I´ll have to use cover more than I do, I have to get my hand to a missile launcher and be very caucious with links....
