So whats the particle effects from that?

Smoke from the smoking blocks in the fire swamp, Twighlight Forest. They're pretty cool, the smoke actually flows properly and spreads is stuff blocks it.

Also I found that enchantment you wanted in book form.

I might see if I can mess with the particles and give this pack more of a smoke look. If it changes the flies with it, evil clouds.

A bit better now.

Just replaced the Sortex pack's particle file with the one from Sphax.

If no one's using it I'd like to claim the blue/blue/blue Enderchest.

Dunno if you want to check the server logs, Dark. I got this message with a crash.

Remember if you put a diamond on the lock, the ender chest becomes yours and then if someone else crafts an enderchest with the same colours, it doesn't link to yours.

Also I saw the smoke generators in the Twilight Forest last night. The default texture doesn't look like the swamp flies, so must just be that texture pack you had

I've replaced two major sections of my bee produce processing pipe network with moar Routers with machine upgrades and item ejector upgrades. Starting to understand how they work a lot better now. It's looking a bit neater. Still happy to trade any diamond dust you have for diamonds, as I still haven't made that drill yet and can also use it in making some diamond disc thingies for GregTech machines too.

I also had another go at a Labyrinth and actually got a nice bit of it lit up. Only got set on fire once. Accidentally set off one of the TNT traps though, after being lured into a false sense of security with a few trapless rooms

I've noticed the Twilight Forest doesn't make my laptop's fan go into overdrive like the overworld does. My suspicions lie with either the huge ExtraBiomes forest near me or the huge amount of polygontastic XyCraft quartz crystals underground, which are less prevalent in the Twilight Forest as it has a much lower ground level.

I checked, but I don't see anything out of the ordinary, just you disconnecting due to a timeout (no response and server gave up waiting). So it was possibly just a crash on your client.

Thing to remember about every chest in a Labyrinth is there's TNT under it. Well except the minoshroom's place. For the double there's a trip wire that will be set off if you break the middle bars. 100% of the time...

So I just come in through the wall.

I've managed to get another Diamond dust and expanded them out from their two hives to about 6 hives so shouldn't take long to get the third either.

Maybe more Trade-O-Mats for lead, aluminium and diamond dust?

Hmm, I've only come across double chests so far and the first thing I did with the "untrapped" rooms was break the middle bars and step right in. The trap that I did set off did have the trip wire on the floor immediately after the bars, but I stepped on it, not the bars falling. I had that ohnosecond where I glimpsed it just before I saw it snap. I was very careful with the room after that, but there was no tripwire...

I had thought of reconfiguring the trade-o-mat at my house to trade the diamonds. Don't really need lead or aluminium right now and I have plenty. I am short on gold, might set up a trade-o-mat for pollen/royal jelly/alveary blocks, I've heard they're in high demand.

So glad to have my computer working again. Currently working on finishing up the Pulverizer room, which will also have an industrial grinder as its centerpiece once I get a good power source going.

Iustis: I'll be about ready to start up the quarry whenever you get a chance to get on with a good connection.

I have/can make Titanium. Got Gold? How does 16 Gold ingots for the two Titanium ingots sound?

Only trouble is we're not often on at the same time.

Hmmm, I might make a new room at spawn where people can place Trade-o-mats and Trade Stations for offline trades.

Sure. We have gold. And if we don't we can make it.

Here's the new Trade Station at spawn.

The iron nugget trade-o-mat is now located there.

I'll see if I can add some of my own as further examples. The coloured wool is so you easily tell people where to look for your trade-o-mat. You can put them against the walls opposite the wool too.

Although a safe is not required, it's better to use one so people can't just take the items out of the chest connected to the trade-o-mat.

I've added trade-o-mats for the Titanium and Diamond offers I mentioned earlier. Although I only have two Titanium ingots on offer at the moment, I could get more tomorrow.

Okay, I claimed those two titaniums. We just need to claim an area to quarry and get to work on a power system for it now.

You still having connection problems, Iustis?

Woo! Out quarry's up. I think I might add a third and/or fourth Stirling Engine though. Also removed the water cooling to speed up the process. IT won't explode as long as the quarry's running.

Any of you thaumcrafty buggers, how does depleted Vis in an area return? Is it a gradual thing, or is that what silverwoods are for?

It is a very slow process, unless you have vis infused stone or crystal capacitors

Also, whoever boasted that their magical sword could two-shot quantum was lying, because a max-enchants Sword of the Zephyr can't one-shot an iron golem. That means they do less than 100 damage, and a player with quantum can stop that much easily.

Quantum can generally withstand more damage than any other armor, but has fewer misc uses, at least tha's the impression I had.

And it's possible that the Thaumcraft weapons bypass some of the tech protections of the Quantum...

Also- Vis is returned to an area through the draining of surrounding Vis nodes.

Basically, any time you use Vis, you're draining it from the closest node. If that gets drained and you're still using it, it'll drain from the second closest, and so on. When any Node falls below its maximum Vis level, surrounding Nodes send out little packets of Vis to refill it, draining them- they get packets of Vis from their surrounding nodes, etc. etc. So you drain immediately from your closest node, but over time it brings the average Vis level of all adjacent loaded chunks down. Each Node recharges at a rate of about 1 or 2 Vis every couple of seconds.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

Just like Quantum armor has superior protection against blasts than magical armor, you mean?

The crystal ores in the ground will also recharge nodes. Thats how we end up with dull shards.

Always worth noting for any thaumaturge, dont mine all your shards out near your base.

Anone have a good example of a magmatic engine / magma crucible system?

The idea is that it will produce enough magma to fuel a few geothermals and its own magmatic engines as long as it has a supply of ntherrrack, which should be easy enough to get.

Generally a single Magmatic Engine connected to a pump in the nether, using either an endertank or liquid tesseract is seen as easier and rarely needs to be moved, rather than having to constantly gather netherrack. Linking books also make maintenance easy.

As an example, the pump that supplies lava to spawn has yet to require moving since the server started. (Although admittedly I've been trying to keep the machine room at spawn just a basic "getting started" area, and now Grundz is also supplementing it with his own supply too).
