I like to run pis with a flamer in just to drop off for line breaker, though I did get lucky and managed to get two of those squads wiping out a sm tac squad hid in ruins... Whoosh. I did used to give them meltabombs but after 15 games without any targets I've dropped them.
Had I not got a thing for mech plasma vets, I might put sws in with somthing instead.

SWS's or PCS's are fantastic in a Flyer.
I don't know why you'd put in a PIS though. Those are for blobbed heavy weapons,
Dropping in one special weapon isn't going to have that much effect on impact.

Cheap cost I guess? If all you want is cheap scoring bodies to drop off late in the game I can think of situations where you'd put an infantry squad in there. For example, if you're playing a low-point game with two Vendettas and can't afford SWS you could put the PCS in one and an infantry squad in the other, leaving the final infantry squad behind on a "home" objective.

Well i have 5 chimeras with ccs with plas, pcs flamers, and 3 plas/melta in them, i like them being shooty for as long as possible. Vets although i love the bs4 and multiple special weapons the pis are my 110 points of picking up a cheeky objective/linebreaker rather than 200. I didn't have any fortifications until Monday so maybe ill try a blob with heavy weapons and a quad or Icarus.
Ps does "fire on my target" effect jink?

The more guardsmen you have in the vendettas/valkries the less points you have on the table on turn 1 (and maybe 2) I don't see a huge benefit. The barebones Vendettas is pretty good by itself.

Jink is a cover save. Any orders that affect cover saves affect jink.

Not that it will ever come up, since BiD is going to be more useful against flyers.

The barebones Vendettas is pretty good by itself. I don't know about you, but my melta-vets never make a contribution on turn 1. My plasma vets do occasionally, but nothing that couldn't be handled by what's already on the table. The huge benefit is placement. I can drop my plasma vets behind an aegis and ignore the cover, or place my melta-vets in the rear or side arc of a vehicle. The benefits are huge.

Except for twin-linked stuff like Sabre Platforms.

Meltavets, 4xFlamer PCS, Demo Charge SWS's; these things hate being on the board turn 1.

Some advice needed here:
Got 2 vendettas and I think of giving them bot 50pts SWS with 3 flamers.
But I also have one PCS with my platoon that is behind my ADL.
Shall I deploy one SWS less and instead put the PCS inside the vendetta.
Or should I keep the PCS with 4 flamers behind my platoon for orders and counterattack?

PCS's are very poor at both orders and counterattack. IMO, don't bother with the extra SWS. Give the PCS flamers, and give the SWS something else other than flamers. That way, you have flying solutions to two different problems, should they arise.

Sounds good. Maybe I buy a second vanilla CCS just to give orders to my platoon and stay behind. My first equipped CCS with chimera can get killed or go with the vets and I don't loose my orders.

If you're buying another CCS, it'd be better to throw 4 meltas on it and put it in a vendetta too. BID on BS4 Vets makes a great tank hunter. Probably the most cost effective tank hunter in the whole codex.

Exergy wrote:you can put in a PCS or a cheap infantry squad. You can also take a special weapons squad without any special weapons. Just 30 points, think of it as a vehicle upgrade.
A special weapons squad is 35pts base, and MUST upgrade 3 men to carry some sort of special weapon. The cheapest cost they could have would be 50pts, which would be x3 GL, Flamers, or snipers.
Unless you meant a naked PCS, but really, are you that worried about points and risk that you wouldn't spend a mere 20pts to give them 4 flamers?
