The electrical boxes. Poke around the internet. I know I've seen all sorts of uses for them as terrain, but for the life of me, I have nothing bookmarked. I am ashame :(

And nice works on the nomads. The mini is known as the Reverend More-Ass, FYI

Yeah, I'm not surprised. Could be worse, she could be the Kum butt girl I'll look up some uses for the electrical boxes at some point, I know I've heard about them being used before which is what prompted me to nab a few.

Gah. Glad I painted first. Just spent 3-ish hours tidying up the garage and moving stuff around so we could fit the second car in, only to discover that the door for that side doesn't work right. I had put off calling the landlord because we stopped using that side for cars, and because it's been working the last dozen times I've used it over the last couple of months. That changes now, gotta call those suckers.

Bleh, I was hoping to do more painting today too.

Extremely. If you pronounce the word properly, I think it's koom, or something, but still. And butt girl since she's riding a bike with her ass in the air. One of the cheesecakier models along with the cat doctor and several others. I guess the More-Ass is one of them.

Kum Butt (It's a Turkish word. Means Sand) is discontinued. I do not know why More-Ass is still in production. I guess because it is part of the Bakunin starter box. And matches the art in the Rulebook. The new Moiras are quite nice.

They sell her separately too. The new ones huh? I'll look again, if they aren't as slutty I may be interested. Though... they're expensive and fragile to be making a link team with them. I'd rather do a custodier trio.

Riot grrls are starting to grow on me too, they manage to fail at sexy (a good thing) while having attitude and being a neat concept-evasion centric heavy infantry. Barely tougher than some MI, but they have mad dodging skills. Well, passable. Pupniks have mad dodging skills.

Riot Grrls are the bane of my existence. For HI they do have mad dodging skills. They are very killy. And as expected, tough to kill. Try a 3 or 4 RG link sometime.

Why not 5, they're sort of affordable, and +3 bs is nuts I really like the profile, they're not as tough as HEAVY HI's, but they get 16 dodge with reasonable armor and BTS, plus sexy bonusi from being linked.

Dear god I think I'm in love... Throw flash grenades at PH 16 (if 5 strong) at something with poor BTS. Grenades aren't limited and still gain the +1 burst right? Success? Walk into a clear shot and just lay into the poor sucker. That, and take several with Blitzens. Blitzen is disposable and burst 1 but with two shots, just like Custodier link can shoot two markers in one action, burst blitzen some poor tag to death

Gah, more things to want

Currently prepping a brief photo shoot of those last five models, got them sealed and based, woot!

I like him. Quite a bit, really. But he doesn't come close to matching his predecessors. What to do? What do you guys think?

And now for the chunky bit, lots of photos of my two (err, 4) newest additions to my growing Nomad force. There are more photos in the gallery, some of them are redundant or of only slightly different angles.

Reverend Moira, also known to the Infinity community as Reverend More-Ass. It is a well-earned appellation, and my painting efforts have done nothing to detract from it. Not exactly my taste, but she came in the starter box and so she got painted!

Yes, there is a fairly obvious error that needs a touch up. It will appear in all of these pictures. I swear it wasn't there when I went to dip =/

Damn Becky.

Ok, I have no idea where that red-orange spot came from. It wasn't there when I touched up. I don't think it was there when I dipped. Whatever, it will take 2 seconds to fix the next time I go around doing those. I like her better on a base and with the matte sealer. Considering going over the black clothes with gloss, but I'm gonna sit on the decision for awhile. Fairly happy with her overall.

Gonna add the Moran in another post.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
So this next guy turned out fairly well and I'm pretty happy with him. He has since been popped off of his base and positioned as far back as possible on a new base. He's still a bit tippy, but he should be table worthy as long as I'm careful with him. Totally used super glue on everything but one of the little robots. Probably going to continue using it in the future. If I drop one of these hard enough to break the super glue bond, it would probably snap the epoxy too, and hell it may even serve as a release for some of the force. Also, no frosting, that's what I was trying to get at there.
Moran, Massai Hunter. (and that's like his title, and them explaining his title, he doesn't have a name yet)

I quite like the way the colors have come out, and just the general outcome.

What do you guys think about these last two (four)? Are they on par with my Moderator, or a little behind? I don't think they're any better, but I'm not an impartial judge of my own work. Comments and criticism welcome!

Finally, a fun shot just because:

Really need a proper side-by-side of the Forgefathers to tell the difference here, given how different the colours of even the same model can come out in photos. And... is that a bare-arsed nun?

Maybe you can side-by-side a pair of those blue tubs as a building base, then glue and stack some DZ parts on top - giving them a lot of extra height (for 25c)?

I'll see about getting a dwarf comparison. And it sort of kind of is. I think there's maybe a tiny bit of outfit that runs down the back in the middle, connecting to the front but it's kind of obscured... and does nothing to keep the butt from hanging out. I'm not sure I'd have bought her on purpose, but she came in my Bakunin starter and so she wasn't not getting painted

Yeah, that might work for the buildings. Certainly, I'll find some kind of use for them.

You did a good job of painting the reverend... but its just a ridiculous model. I had a good chuckle when I saw her. I guess normally her cape would cover that up, but it has "momentarily" moved out of the way during her action pose.

I like the newer dwarf better than your old ones... I think. Az is right, comparison shot would help. He definitley looks more defined. I don't know if you dipped him or not, but if you did, its a lot less noticable. I guess he looks cleaner, is what I'm trying to say. He could be the new recruit who hasn't been in the warzone as long... or something.

The Dwarf does look pretty clean, and like squall said seems better defined. Damn he's bright though.

I like the Nomad models! Booty and all. You did good justice to the assets of the figure.

The paintjob looks good too. I love Crazy Koalas. If you play a game with them, you'll see what I mean.

Thanks guys I didn't spend forever on the Infinity stuff, but longer than I do on the dwarfs or similar. After I get this batch of Dr Who stuff out of the way I'll probably start tearing into my remaining Infinity collection. I've got 9 or so other nomad minis to go, 3 yet to build, and a box of 4 kaplan security dudes incoming. I've got enough amazon credit to pick up another box and a half too, once someone posts up something I'm looking to buy. And Operation Icestorm, whenever that exists

I really hope to play Infinity some day, it seems like with rotating out just one or two minis per game you could have a lot of variance, and there are so many subtle tricks tactics and nuances to keep you busy.

I know what's 'wrong' with the dwarf. I used minitaire irradiated yellow instead of vallejo model air uhh gold yellow or whatever it was. And the dip is way less obscuring. I think the black is in to stay. The dirty orange wasn't bad, but in some ways I like this better. I may get out that other yellow and brush some onto the others by hand, or at least one, to see if I can get something in between.

Your Moran is looking good. I'm not a fan of his sculpt, but I think you did a good job on it. More-ass I just can't take seriously though. It's like the Moderator with the lollipop. It just seems a little too goofy having her ass sticking out like that.

The lollipop is OK, but her gun is either made of paper or she has a reinforced cyborg wrist to hold a rifle like that...

I probably should have wish listed the boarding shotgun Moran. At least I got out painting a tartan cape this way. His pose would be better if he were leaning back 10-15 degrees or so, he's very tippy and doesn't look super realistic with that stance. Or the rifle with one hand in the air like that.

More-ass is not a mini I would have bought off the rack. But she came in the starter and damned if I'm not going to paint her. Could a painted her rump like it was a skintight suit, but in the ennd I simply embraced the cheesecake. Hell. I may go back and give her a heart tattoo on the left cheek just to drive the point home

The Moira link box has sculpts with tighter proportions, and while they've still got slutty outfits, they aren't nearly as humorously posed. But they're MI that cost like low end HI, multi rifles are expensive. And their odd for -6 enemy bs is amazing until someone with a flamer just ruins their day all to hell and back.

More likely to get riot grrls than moira box, don't llove the sculpts but they're growing on me and the profile/fluff makes them my favorite HI to date.

You can totally pick up the game even though a new rule 'edition' is coming out.

The existing rules are free online, and no model you buy is going to be nerfed/nuked/un-usable. Take the dive and have fun.

Damn CB recruiters, they're everywhere!

Nothing big, but a couple of things I'm working on. These may end up being 'good enough' for now, but I'll want to weather them a little and seal them too.

Going to use these ad-walls to cover the empty wall sections of my deadzone buildings. I like to have the option to put the building against the edge of the table for increased playability, but when I want less terrain to go further, it really helps to stick things in the middle of the board and not packed out around the edges. Just cut out a couple of 3x6" sections of plasticard and made the banners in paint. They could be better, and I may fix them up someday when I feel like working with the GIMP.

Took some fiddling to get them right around 3x6", accidentally made two that were 3x8" due to some improper math with pixels, and then made another set too large due to getting something hinky with the resolution or something. I had thought 300x600 pixels would be 3x6" after looking it up a ways back, but I had to go with something like 287x574, and I probably could have shrunk them just a teeny bit more. Oh well, all of the important details survived the trimming to fit.

Need to get a base coat onto the ad-wall backing that matches the building each goes to, then run some dip over it to color match and lightly weather. May or may not get it done today, I've got some other things to do before I (hopefully) get a game in tomorrow. I think I may modify a couple of deadzone clips to fit the backs as well, so I can actually plug them into the buildings instead of resting them next to them or just using blue tack.

Also, check it out, goodies!

Can't wait to tear into these, but I've got some other stuff to do. Really excited to work on them though, they've got loads of pouches, backpacks, and look like they mean serious business. I kind of would have preferred the sniper to have a crouched ADS pose, but it's a squad, someone ought to be pointing.

Like I said, I hope to get a game or two of deadzone in tomorrow with a buddy from out of town, got to get my cards and counters out, as well as finalize the lists and brush up on the rules just a tad. I'm pretty sure I've got enough terrain to get by, though things aren't going to be as multi-leveled as I would like.

I like the stock color scheme pretty well, but I can't blend like them so I'll have to make some concessions as I actually get to laying down the paint.

Thanks! I needed something to put back there, and I figured the corporation was very consumption and advertisement oriented. Going to continually add more posters and marketing devices as I think of them.

Thanks guys

Can't wait to get to the Kaplans. I won't really have enough models to make a force with them until I buy more, but that isn't really going to stop me, or even heavily influence when I get to painting them They have started me down the path to another faction though, will probably get the Qapu Kualqi starter box sooner than most (though there is still a *lot* of nomad stuff I wanna do).

All I did for the posters was take some pictures of my own models and stick them in paint, resizing and trimming till they fight the right dimensions. Had to print it out three times to get the right shape, though the first time I was using the wrong numbers. Well, the space background for one of them was blatantly ripped out of the deadzone rulebook pdf I have, but y'know. Gonna hunt through that and nexus psi pdfs to see if there are any nice scifi symbols I can 'borrow' for use as slightly more futuristic signage at some point.

I'm not even playing Infinity at the moment. I've learned enough to be dangerous (ly uninformed ), the basics for making a list and how things interact, but I'm mostly just picking up stuff to paint that *might* eventually get used in games. If I can find someone to play around here. It's kind of strange, the longer I look at Infinity stuff, and the more models I paint... I'm getting to where I like more and more of the range. At first I was only interested in nomads, and just the one faction. Now I'm looking forward to working on a bunch of nomad stuff, and some Haqqislam stuff. I've also caught myself eying some pan-o stuff and one of the combined army factions. So far I'm still not interested in ariadna, aleph, or much of Yu Jing... though those japanese biker gang dudes are pretty killer.

Blah, gonna try to trim up some more barricade bits so I can add some more cover in for the supposed games tomorrow.

It's hard to say. The default scheme looks really nice but I think it does so by having a lot of subtle highlights and blending going on. I think mine would look too grey if I went with the default scheme. I may do something a bit more black. Like a black base, then a thicker kind of an edge highlight, then light edge highlights. I'm not going to try blending any tiny surfaces like that, but I can try to make a richer black or something. Probably the same white heads and likely shoulderpads. As much white as I can work in, honestly. Tudor does great things for white and it makes painting simpler, but better, than if I didn't use it. I may try to do some of the freehand like the shoulder badges and bicep eject/play symbol things, but i dunno if it'll come out.

I've heard of a thing you do where you print out a black and white photo of a model and paint it in to see if you like it... I may try that and see if I could make them look neat with the white parts inverted to black, and maybe white fatigues? And maybe once like that with another color, maybe one that ties in with another force, or one I want to use with my QK eventually.

I have a feeling I may end up doing the stock scheme pretty closely though.
