Very nice back story seed there!

And to think she may bite it at level one...tis the life though.
Did three total sets of walls. Need more tile before I make more. For now, the one section will cover most any single room.

Those are neat. Is there anything holding the walls upright, or is the fit between the tiles close enough to hold them in place?

@cam it's simple and quick, enough to hold me over until I get some dental plaster to make real walls
Everyone else thanks for the kind words.
Whether or not this D D thing happens and or promises to happen again, probbaly gonna switch to sci-fi or post apoc for a change as soon as I'm done.
Did source 18 wooden barrels and 9 pot analogs thanks to inspiration from Theo, but they will wait for paint .

So what do you guys think. I ran the dnd game, it was ok. Not sure what to do hobby wise next. Loosely the following categories are ehat I can pick from:
Fantasy minis, rpg one offs or army stuff
Fantasy dungeon dressing like the DS furniture
Fantasy scenery
TNT warband stuff, giant gorillas mutants or other things
Post apoc andn modern scenery like my factory board, weathering cars, and working on BS PA layouts
Sci-fi minis like enforcers, forge fathers, and so on...there's a lot to pick from
Specifically... the USAriadna forces...
The Tau
Orcs for the fantasy Army
Civilians and/or survivors
Left field with mars attacks stuff
A big beasty from the bones pile
Battle zones buildings
Or anything else I've threatened to do. I have no productivity goals or games for which to prepare. I'd like to stick to low impact paint jobs I can reliably do on the portable painting station.
Also migrating towards cleaning my hobby spaces so I can more readily use them. So expect a shelf showcase someday when I get it all cleaned up. I'm storing my brother in law's minis and will probbaly display and share the photos of them with his permission..all down the road. Old school fantasy minis largely, in quantities that put my dnd pile to shame.
So. What do I do? Anything you guys wanna see? Keep expectations low

I'd give advice, but I'm sorely lacking in ideas to do myself.
You could always mix a couple and make a TNT/Mars Attacks squad . The mars attacks squad could have a mutant gorilla in it too.
I bought the Miniaturemarket deal of the day today for $8.
http://www.miniaturemarket.com/ffgdt015.html
Dust tactics operation See Lowe. It has a mutant gorilla in it and some terrain elements.

I've separated my dust buildings, my battlezones, necromunda bulkheads and fantasy terrain into four different boxes. I fiddled with the battlezones stuff some more but remembered why I dislike them so much. Once your shelves are done knocking out some terrain for your table would be good. You could do one piece for each of your games. A fantasy one, a sci fi one and a TNT one.

Haha so that's a vote for TNT and gorillas so kind of two votes for gorillas . And one for scenery.
Just have to transfer the last of scenery to the terrain shelves and then depopulate, dust, and organizedly repopulate the model shelves.

Feels like it's been a bit... not a lot to show for having so many days off really. Here's a small table I put together for my kids. Legos or little people houses, what have you. Needs to be sanded lightly and then sealed or painted. Leaning towards paint. Not sure how MDF looks under stain.
Also more or less finished the build on six models for a mutant warband for TNT.

Thanks . Itching to paint the gorillas but haven't had a chance yet. Need some more tiles. Gotta go by a Menards some time...they usually have the cheaper landscaping blocks and home stuff.
Got on the Xmas decoration trees bandwagon. Contemplating a small project with them.

MDF looks like crap under stain. There are some very durable paints out there. Not sure how kid resistant they are. Also, maybe use a wood hardener/sanding sealer on the legs and aprons before painting. Ensures that the paint absorbs evenly.
Those trees look very intriguing? Where did you get them?

Cam, you certainly can but I think a snow board would be fun.
@red good stuff to know, I'll probably try to seal the MDF at least and find some sturdy paint. The trees came from Kmart discounted to $10 from $15. I've heard of nearly identical sets at both Aldi's and Ace hardware also for ~$10.
Haha shas, maybe I'll make some presents too
Below are some shots of a trial layout for a 3x3' woodland board in winter. Just the trees would stay, I'd be making the rest with foam and plaster cloth. One section of blue extruded/insulation foam for the base and more foam and plaster to make hills and dips etc. Water feature towards the middle at the lowest point. I'd be leaving some open spaces for adding game-specific scenery so it can be a frozen wasteland or a winter fantasy board.
My question for you guys, how's the layout? What about the trees, organic or too assembled looking? Unnatural? Should there be tighter clusters and open spaces? Any other features that would be cool or useful?
