A long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away...

Yep that's right, Trent is going back on the road... I'm totally pysched about this, last time I saw NIN was '94 for the Self Destruct Tour (at The Forum, London - a great intimate venue where the sounds crashed off the walls to attack you from all sides). One of my first concerts and was totally blown away, from the pumping silhouette start of 'Mr Self Destruct', through the crazy, blood soaked mosh-pit ('Head Like A Hole' was pure madness, even the band looked like they got hurt in this one), to the ultimate end with 'Something I Can Never Have' and 'Dead Souls' (Joy Division cover) IIRC...

I'm just hoping beyond hope that there's a UK venue somewhere in the mix and that I'll be able to attend it... Guess it'll either be a one-off O2 concert or he'll do one of the festivals (Download or Sonisphere) and not go back to the intimate venues where the NIN sound really rocks your socks off, but I wanna go...

Nine Inch Nails are returning to the stage this year for a number of shows worldwide including a US arena tour this fall. The lineup of the band includes Eric Avery, Adrian Belew, Alessandro Cortini, Joshua Eustis, and Ilan Rubin, along with Trent Reznor. The first shows will be this summer. The tour page will be gradually filling in with dates and info.

Anyone got other memories to share of NIN concerts or are planning to see them this year?

GET IN!

Leeds Festival - I think it was 2007. Was the best thing about the weekend for me. An advanced state of inebriation and NIN.

Think they played some from Year Zero. I remember Survivalism.
For 'Only' they had a screen of lights come down and made it so you could just make Trent out through 'static'.
Hurt was awesome too. And Head like a hole...

The only bit I didn't like was that was on the friday and I could quite happily have gone home after. It didn't get any better for me.
Then the smashing Pumpkins came on after and chased the crowd away.

@PredaKhaine:
Saw them the same year at Reading, the gig was truly awesomesauce! Highlight was the synth breakdown from 'Great Destroyer' where the band was just shilouetted against an eplieptics nightmare of static and random flashing colours on those big-ass screen things they had on the stage.

If they do Download I would be particularly chuffed, or if they did a big arena in Wales/close to the bored I would see them, but wouldn't make the trek to manchester/london/etc

Saw them at Brixton Academy in 2005 and needless to say, it was a lifetime ambition fulfilled.

They were amazing, I can't say anymore than that, nothing has been close. Well, maybe Carter USM at Shephards Bush Empire back in '96.

After the gig, I fell asleep on the train, got stranded at Bristol Templemeads and slept on a warm air vent.

I'm gutted as well, I had so many photos and videos of that night and my phone got robbed.

No pity, no remorse, no shoes

That's probably what I'm remembering (at leeds though, I remember where I was just about).. I was a bit 'worse for wear'...

Houston Texas

I have seen them 6 times now throughout the years. They have always put on a good show.

http://www.ninwiki.com/Fall_1995_Club_Tour I saw them at Numbers in Houston on this show. It was the first time I saw them It was a surprise tour where the show got announced like a week before it happened and sold out insanely fast. I didn't get tickets in the initial sale but went to the venue anyway and they were letting people in so I got into it.

http://www.ninwiki.com/2000/05/22_Houston,_TX A perfect circle opened for them. Me and my roommate were so blown away by APC they we stopped by an indie record store that stayed open late after the show to pick up APC's debut CD.

http://www.ninwiki.com/2005/10/19_Houston,_TX I had gotten tickets to this with a friend when they went on sale. The website doing the ticket sales had some kind of mishap that day and I along with a lot of other people got charged multiple times. I got hit 7 times for the same tickets. They had it fixed by the end of the day but it as a bit disconcerting getting a all from my bank's fraud division asking about unusual activity. I also hooked up with my current girlfriend over that summer, and she wanted to go so I managed to snag her a single sets much later in the summer for the show. She got seated in a better section of the arena than the initial tickets I bought.

http://www.ninwiki.com/2006/03/24_Austin,_TXWent out of town with the girlfriend for this one. Was a good show and nice to get out of town for a weekend. We missed Saul Williams set though when we found out we could bring in the camera to the venue and made the hike back to the car to get it. I really wanted to see him.

http://www.ninwiki.com/2008/08/16_Houston,_TX The best visual presentation at a concert I had ever seen up to that point in my life. I think the only show that gives it a run for its' money presentation wise is when I saw Roger Waters do the wall a few years back.

http://www.ninwiki.com/2009/05/12_Austin,_TX Another Austin Trip. I was feeling really sick that night and don't remember some of it. Life for instance they played two songs i was really looking forward to and do not remember them being played. I do know though that I was very disappointed with the crowd one one of the really quite songs when they would not shut the hell up through it. I also felt that as a "farewell tour" set list it was a little lacking. Their final round of shows in NYC and LA were much better. Street Sweeper Social Club opened and I liked them enough to go get their CD when it hit shortly after. Jane's Addiction closed and brought the place down.

I can't wait to see what the new round of shows look like.

Probably work

I haven't heard anything by NIN since Year Zero, and I haven't really liked anything by them since Further Down the Spiral. This was about 10 years ago. I've, ehrm... mellowed, since then.

Trying to decide whether to get excited about this.

I thought The Slip was very good indeed.

Been a massive fan since PHM, never have seen them live, perhaps that will now change, very pleased.

...Now, someone talk to Dean Garcia and Toni Halliday about getting Curve back together.

Definitely excited to see this. NIN holds the number one and two spots for my favorite concerts of all time.

Fragility Tour - Was at an amphitheater here. A massive storm was rolling in on the horizon while A Perfect Circle opened for them. As soon as NIN hit the stage, the storm opened up in full force. I was amazed that the show wasn't canceled or delayed, but I was glad it wasn't as it matched the mood of the entire show perfectly.

Further Down The Spiral tour - Near the end of the show, during Burn, the entire arena decided to rush the floor. It was sheer, amazing pandemonium.

Belew is a fething LEGEND! The man has played with Zappa, Bowie and a little band called King Crimson.

I wish I had seen them back in the 90's. That would have been something else.

One of my favorite concerts was the 2000 tour for The Fragile, with A Perfect Circle opening. That was in Worcester, MA. Possibly the best live show I've been to; certainly the best arena concert. I definitely want to catch this tour.
