Since the other thread is now three months out of date I am making a new one instead of performing illegal necromancy because apparently all forums are run by the Tribunal.


Patch 5.2 was finally released and apparently is great for endgame content and pet battling, but seriously screwed over twinks and multi boxers. Notably, the old weaponsmith patterns from TBC have returned as level 90 weapons for xmog. Warlocks have finally gotten access to green fire spells.

•Warlocks can now undertake a solo adventure that culminates with the ability to change the color of their Fire spells to appear Fel green. The quest begins for those Warlocks determined or fortunate enough to have laid their hands on the fabled Codex of Xerrath.

Heh. They gave me a ten day pass to get me to come back. Logged in and handed out a couple hundred grand and logged back out. The only thing I miss is the AH.

Havent played in years but man multiboxing is the EDITED BY MANNAHNIN thing Ive ever seen. Glad there are steps being taken to stop that crap.

I agree with that sentiment, but not with the manner in which it was expressed.

I like patch 5.2. The dailies are great and it's nice to see people from Wrath (And BC) back. It's also really, really easy to buy gear now. They reduced Valor costs for equipment across the board and now heroics dispense justice points like candy.

As for multi boxing, I'm glad to see it gone. As for twinking... same thing. Skill should always beat shiny gear.

Blizzard is really stepping things up with MoP. It's my favorite expansion so far.

Yeah, I want to see twinking gotten rid of. I also think they should stop tailoring the game towards the baddies by nerfing everything to the ground. I think if something gets nerfed too much and is too easy, it should get buffed. I wouldn't mind making LFR a joke by making joke bosses so it doesn't ruin the real raid. E.G. Instead of Deathwing, they could have Rainbowwing who breathes rainbows and says "I love you" instead of Deathwing usually says. If people want LFR to be faceroll joke easy, it should be treated like a joke.

I don't understand this hatred against twinking. Do you not realize that true twinks were removed from normal battlegrounds a long time ago? Twinks ONLY fight other twinks no. The only way they can fight levelers is by gaining XP or exploiting. Both of those actions will result in said player's ostracization within their respective twinking community.

It's somewhat of an inherited hatred. People hate twinks because other older players displayed hatred of them. Then those players pass this hate down to a younger generation of players. This passing of sentiments is the same reason why people think the Horde always win BGs and that rogues need to be nerfed.

The horde should always win though, purely on the basis of being the horde.

I'm quite suprised that people still play WoW. I rolled a couple of new characters when the panda thing was released and its exactly the same game as it always has been. Surely people will have gotten bored with it by this stage?

Yeah, pretty much this. I really don't know any other game where people sit around bored without turning it off.

Yeah, especially people who play the auction on WoW.

Just logged in for the first time since mid December. Apparently my account was hacked and my characters are all naked and I have multiple level 90s...

Well, look at it this way, you'll be able to avoid the new content madness. God, I remember MoP on launch day... the respawns! The overcrowding! The world PvP!

I dont like what has happened to WoW to much, I remember when there was alot more customization.... You had sword training and found an axe that was wayyyy better, you had to go buy the training to use axes and then work up your proficiency with them..... And the blacksmithing recipes were better then the new stuff you get from quests (only reason I would do blacksmithing now is to make keys for lockpicking)

Other then the "dumbing down" of the game the rest of the changes are actually very pleasant but sadly not good enough for me to go back (again)

How is forcing you to level your axe skill customization? That is tedious nonsense that only serves as a time sink.

There was nothing boring about auction house play. I had multiple toons running the auction house and cornering several markets. A little buy-low, sell-high, a little cornering of the market on certain items, wipe out other people's bankrolls through price manipulation, it was great.

Somehow they leveled a DK to 88 on a Cataclysm only account...can you level during trial now? wtf

It's the same game essentially. Gameplay has been streamlined, leveling has been sped up significantly, a couple new classes have been introduced, but it is still a carrot on a stick gear treadmill at endgame.

Not played it much myself lately, been busier on things closer to home, but I have popped on a couple of times with my two lads to guide them through the starting zones for Orcs and Worgen as we have three WOW ready PCs.

Tbh that was the most fun I've had in a long time, seems the pet thing isn't enough to keep me interested and I'm pretty much done with dungeons/raiding.

Yeah, I have to agree. End game is like this: "I got gear. Yay! Time to get more gear. I got that gear. Yay! Time to get more". When you finally got all the gear you could get that's pretty much it until the next patch, where you can get more gear...

I like to level up characters more. And roleplay.

I like the pet battles, but they are a bit tedious (as is the game as a whole). It is still F2P to level 20. Pre endgame PvP was fun in certain brackets and it hasn't changed much within 19,29,39,49s, but other brackets have some problems brought on by 5.2.

The game has more to offer than the treadmill, but that is Blizzard's focus for whatever reason.
