Despite the fact that everyone following the thread apparently has met an early death - it is a curse like in the good old Egyptian days - I still soldier on.
After the heartspeaker was done, the buzzsaw need some more attention. I wanted lots of pistons and such, but the thing got overcrowded so I settled for a few powercables to bulk it up.
Really taking shape now, and a lot better than the first try.

He/They are shaping up beautifully. Reminds me of a cool 40K version of MasterBlaster from Mad Max III. Really nice work Manus.

Naaah... Manus. It's just summer... that happens to all our threads. The mechanical arm & flamer look fantastic on him, really helps balance him out (as does his rider).

cheers guys, must be because it isn't summer here yet - so hadn't noticed!!

Glad that you mention balance as I was a little worried - actually the gas tank helps as well I think. Bar a hose from the gastank to the flamer I think he's all but done.

Trying to figure out how to support the gastank - and I Think I'll add kind of a supportbeam from the piece of scrapmetal that holds Master in place.

That is a really excellent, characterful model. Really excellent job. Love the way the grot is gripping the muscles on the bug guys shoulders.

Thanks a lot, Glad you notice, as the gripping part came out much better than I had hoped for.

Alright - painting has commenced and I'm playing around with the skin. Want a unhealthy yellowish, dirty color - and I'm building it up with several steps testing what works and what doesn't - lots of washing and drybrushing.
Almost done now - just need a few steps more. Once that's done I'll post up a step by step.

Under the couch

That is a fantastic conversion.

The saw could really use a guard on the back of the blade, so it doesn't cut the cabling...

Minor quibble, though. Awesome work, and very characterful.

thanks a lot, much appreciated. Basically I think you are right about the guard - however I really try to not think too practical when I build stuff - previously I have had a tendensy to overcomplicate things - detailing conversions down to "it has to actually work before I'm happy" this has let to more than a few abandoned projects Also I'm pretty sure this guy doesn't think a lot about safety......

C&C most welcome on the painting as this was really a big experiment.
As Half & Half are borderline mutants, I wanted to give the big fellow a twist to the skincolor. I also wanted it to be something else than the WAT grown AdMech skin I have done in the past, so I decided to work out of a yellowish base and then just play around and experiment...as follows:

Base: very old GW orc brown - lovely color

Then a wash of GW serpia

Next step was a skin drybrushing

It was then time to work some other colors into the skin, so he was given a random stippeling with a dark brown color and orange as well. Needed plenty as the next step would cover up most of it.

Another lighter fleshy drybrush.

Then I worked in some shading by adding ogryn flesh wash to "under sides" ie. non light exposed parts of muscles and fattybits. A purple was was added in the deepest recesses and in random patches to add even more depth to the skin.

Orange wash was applied on recesses and around implants/rusty bits.

Top layer drybrush of the skin - quite light coat of drybrush.

Finishing touches included picking out details and adding purple, orange and reddish washes around implants to make the skin look more irritated.

Looking good!

I think maybe a bit more pink / purple around the implants to exaggerate the 'rawness'?

Thanks LM. Thanks for the suggestion, however I think the pics let me down some there - there is plenty of rawness, actually to a degree where I had to tone it down slightly.

The saw got some attention yesterday. I think the overall colorselection works alright (still a lot of work to do though), however I'm not quite sure I'm happy with the red, I think it's slightly too dark, so it might get a repaint. It was an experiment anyway - of a different approach to painting red, at least I now know how I want it.

Thanks a bunch - here is the finished version. More pics in my blog if interested.

Half and Half - not quite mutants, but born of human parents in the parts of town where pollution and radiation is almost a guarantee that some children are born close to mutation. From birth is was apparent that one of the twins had gotten the physique and stamina, and one had gotten the quick brain....their parents couldn't quite agree on who had gotten the good looks.
As they grew older is soon became clear to the boys that one couldn't do with out the other, as they together possessed a cunning and terrible strength matched by no one in their parts of town. For several years now they have been mercenaring, selling their services to the highest bidder, currently they are working as treasure for a small operation.

Though quite a long project for just one mini, I really enjoyed working on this - love the fact that I can concentrate on one mini - not several at a time. But every thing from the building process to the last brushstroke was a joy.

Thanks a lot guys, glad you like it as I'm really happy with it my self. Tha gas tank is from Zinge Industries.

It's been a while since I did anything AdMech related - that's not good. Of cause any inq28 retinue needs a techpriest, so I figured I do a mini that could double as both priest for my mechanicus and be a model which could be used in Inq28 as well. Hence, proudly presenting Magos Something of the Biologis AKA Mechanical Dog - he's going to be a nasty companion Name suggestions most welcome. Any magos of any time, faith or alignment needs a staff.....

Amazing work putting together and painting Master Blaster there (and yes, that's who I thought of immediately as well when I saw the rider. Where did you get the LPG gas tank from?

I look forward to seeing how the new AdMech guy develops...

Thanks guys. Creepy is possibly the highest praise I could ask for with this guy. The gas tank is from Zinge Industries.

It's vacation time and pics are a couple of shots I took before leaving home. They are both edited and uploaded using mobile devices, which takes forever BTW, so they will be uploaded in a couple of posts.
I'm going for the creepy biologis look here, so several appendages with the right tool's were needed.
