Also for some reason I'm only getting the prices in British pounds on the site, even though I'm an American.

Also, it's really hard to find all the extra bits and accessories like the old site had. If I want to search for things like extra panzerfausts or STG 44's I have to click the Germans tab and then just search through everything.

I have a feeling that I'm just missing something obvious, but it still sucks.

There's an Armoury tag you can look through as well. I think your STG44s are on this page:

Could be that the site still needs a bit of fine-tuning.

Newsletter out now - http://us1.campaign-archive2.com/?u=71ca505c950f8867eb0fa9748&id=eafec64e1d

As you will have noticed we’ve made some significant changes to our website and webstore. There are loads of new features and there is plenty more we plan to add in the coming weeks and months – this is very much the first stage in our plan to give you a more responsive and more intuitive site packed with loads of great content.

A FEW PROBLEMS!
As we announced a few weeks ago, we’ve been busy working in the background to redesign and upgrade our website. Unfortunately, as we started to make the changes it became clear that there was a serious problem and we were forced to close the site down (as many of you will have discovered over the last few days!). Sorry for the downtime – the best laid plans of mice and men and all that…
Rest assured, any orders you’ve already placed will be shipped out as normal.

A NEW SYSTEM
After looking at the problem we made the decision to switch to a brand new system for our store, which is faster, packed with great features like quick shop buttons, photo zoom and a smoother checkout process!

Note that you’ll need to create a new account with a new password when you next make an order.
If you are having any issues with seeing the new style site/features please clear your browser’s cache – that should take care of most issues. If not then we are only an email away – please contact us at info@warlordgames.com.

Over the coming weeks we’ll be adding more useful features, including a system to check the status of your orders. For now the store prices are just in UK Pounds (GBP) – we’ll be addressing US Dollar sales as soon as possible.

Written by Steven MacLauchlan, Judson MacCaull, Vesa Nenye, Anton von Wirtzenau and Peter Munter, a copy of the Bolt Action rulebook is needed to use this supplement.

Paperback; 96 pages.

FINNISH INFANTRY

Faced with the vast forces of the Soviets, the courageous and resourceful Finnish soldiers, masters of fieldcraft, sniping, and small unit tactics, slowed and then began to roll back the massive Soviet assaults.
This fantastically characterful set includes infantry armed with rifles and molotov cocktails, a sniper team, MMG team, officers and even a five-man scouting patrol equipped with snow-gear and skis.
Box contains 21 metal foot figures.

Note: Models supplied unassembled and unpainted

WARLORD GAMES PURCHASE FORCE OF ARMS RANGE

Warlord Games are delighted to announce we have purchased a significant number of 1:56 scale vehicles and guns from Force of Arms and will be adding them to our award-winning Bolt Action range.
“The opportunity to expand our already large stable of resin vehicles with items we were planning to have made was too good an opportunity to pass up”, says Paul Sawyer of Warlord Games. Adding in vehicles to support the early stages of WWII and The Winter War as well as the interwar period, these will also appeal to those wargamers enjoying the A Very British Civil War setting.”.
John Bruce, owner of Force of Arms, says “I am pleased that this sale ensures these excellent models continue to be available to wargamers world wide. They are a exciting fit to the already comprehensive package on offer from Warlord Games. Force of Arms will now be specialising in the period 1946 – to the end of the Cold War, and expects to bring some interesting models to the market in the near future”

BrookM -- is the Defenders of France pack in plastic? Also, besides La Resistance, any further plans with early war French?

I'd like to see a French or Polish early-war starter to go with the Blitzkrieg one.

The French are metals, no word on them going to plastic any time soon. So far though, the early war French only show up in lists detailing the Phony War, the defence of France and the armed forces of the Vichy.

One would think the Battle of France would get some traction.

Who else are the blitzing Germans supposed to fight? Are the Poles at least plastic?

No, the only early war stuff is the Germans. All other early war stuff is either metal or missing.

CRUSADER MK I/II TANK

With war clouds gathering, the British general staff ordered the acceleration of their cruiser tank programme – fast. reliable and reasonably armoured fighting vehicles that exploit weak points in the enemy lines and spearhead breakthroughs. One of the successful designs was the Tank, Cruiser, Mk VI Crusader, more commonly known simply as the Crusader.

Armed with a 2-pdr main gun and later upgraded to a 6-pdr, it also had a co-axial machine gun. The Mk I carried a small hand-traversed turret armed with a Besa machine gun in the front hull although this was often removed or left unmanned by the unimpressed crews of the Mk I and Mk II.

The Mk I and Mk II variants of the Crusader primarily saw action in the Western Desert where they would symbolise the British armoured formation in the desert, with their speed lending themselves so well to the highly mobile nature of the war in the desert and the traditional cavalry tactics the British employed.

THE NORTH AFRICAN BRIGADE OF THE SS

We looked at Free Indian troops last month serving in the Wehrmacht, just part of a huge polyglot army that Germany fielded in the second world war. This week is an altogether more exotic, less well known and surprising unit – Moslem Arab troops recruited largely from former French colonies.

When France was knocked out of the war early on, Arab nationalists in the near east saw the chance to overthrow their colonial masters and many thousands signed up in a variety of battalions and legions to fight alongside the Italian and German forces.
They were uniformed and equipped as their comrades in arms, but with less heavy weaponry and vehicles, some learning to parachute and long-range recce skills. When well led, they performed well, though it seems clear that their hosts were not always trusting of them. They fought in the south of Russia, Greece, North Africa, Sicily and Italy, where they developed their skills in anti-partisan work, though some units also earned a reputation for brutality.
A unit of 300 was brought over from Africa in 1943 and formed a single over-strength company. The whole character of the unit has to be questioned – there were many ne’er do wells and criminals amongst them, and they had a vicious reputation from their early days, so a war against the tough maquis was always going to escalate the violence.

They were dressed in a mix of French mountain regiment gear, blue shirts, black berets, a mixture of dark blue trousers and jackets, and some militia tan coloured clothes. They wore an armband on their left sleeve saying “in service with the German Wehrmacht”. The strangest thing about them was that they were equipped with British sten guns in the main, and assorted captured Russian weaponry. The sten guns were from captured stocks dropped by the RAF to the resistance, the ammunition was the same as issued to the MP40 sub machine gun. One of the platoons was dressed in standard field grey, and no doubt the rest wore what was available, the supply problems by this time would be starting to bite.
They were led by an SS officer, and used principally as police, clashing many times with the resistance and earning themselves a poor reputation for discipline and charges of murder and robbery, leading to a disintegration of the unit by late 1944.
My interest in them is to reproduce some of the myriad of exotic units that saw action in this truly world war that had 57 countries involved. These guys were a rough and unpleasant bunch, make no mistake, and in Bolt Action should be treated as Untried, or even Shirkers. I cannot imagine them surrendering, however. They had signed their own death warrants by joining a rotten cause.

TBH I think it's nice that Warlord still use artwork for their boxes, not many companies do these days!

Always think it ignites the imagination more than just a straight shot of the painted miniatures (which IMO should be reserved for the back of the box). Wish that Corvus Belli would do the same for Infinity...

All I can say is, fething hell, how did that slip by me?!

NEW: PLASTIC M3A1 HALF-TRACK AND ARMOURED FIST PLATOON

Out now is our all-new plastic M3A1 Half-Track kit – perfect for transporting your US infantry into position and providing fire support while the battle rages.

Not only that, we also have a US Armoured Fist boxed set, containing 3 Half-Tracks and 30 US Infantry, ready to assault the enemy head-on!

The new plastic Half-Track is a replacement for the previous resin version, and while they may look identical at first glance, there are some important improvements:

FASTER ASSEMBLY
Firstly, as anyone who’s ever put together a resin vehicle will testify, plastic models have a lot of advantages – the parts require less cleaning up, you can use plastic glue instead of superglue to stick them together, and all in all they are far faster to assemble (which is important if you’re building three!). They are also lighter to carry around and less breakable too.

STOWAGE INCLUDED
The M3A1 Half-Track has noticeably sharper details than its resin predecessor. It also comes with two optional front fenders to choose from, as well as a collection of stowage including spare helmets, backpacks and fuel cans that you can use to ensure each vehicle looks unique.

It's a great platoon starter, all you really need to toss in is some support weaponry and maybe a Sherman.

What is that, 90 bucks? That's a pretty solid deal considering that you're basically buying the new Half-Tracks and practically getting the infantry for free. I might have to snag one of the resin ones before they're all gone to even everything out

I know it's not news or Rumours but I just got my first BA models showed up today and I was wondering are they meant to come with bases or are you meant to buy them separately?

What set did you get?

I've noticed starter sets come with separate 25mm bases made by Renedra -- and the Soviet set has some bases on the sprue with the figure parts. However, they don't come with larger bases for artillery or weapons teams.

It really depends, the older metals don't come with bases, all the plastic boxed sets do, as from the British infantry onwards the bases are part of the sprue.

My experience with them is that the German plastics as part of the Assault on Normandy set had sprues of bases in the box, and the Americans had the bases on the sprue with the actual models. All the metals came sans bases sadly :-\

Seems weird -- only some of the bases are on the Warlords sprue. Renedra sprues fill out the rest, at least for Sovietskis.

That's because half the army is armed with bases, and the other half is armed with models. The Soviets partner them up, and when one dies, their partner picks up the base or the model, depending on who died

I believe any made by Renedra have separate Renedra plastic bases. Any made by Warlord's new (in-house?) plastics have the bases as part of the sprue.

Unfortunately the metals don't have bases! Don't know why Warlord does that. I use plastic Renedra bases.
