Thanks for the comments everyone!

On a side note and this is no criticism of you, though those dreadnoughts are awful models!

Personally I would have gone for the forgeworld grey knights dreadnought body upgrade and forgeworld autocannons arms. I think that would put them firmly back into amazingly awesome territory. In this case the models were sent in to me - I added the grey knights parts for a bit more detail.

Serious time, absolutely love the work on these! How long did it take you to do the Power Weapons? They look real nice

Maybe 10-30 minutes per power weapon depending on how the airbrush is behaving. The airbrush can make a sputtery mess sometimes if you're not careful.

Here's my latest character commission. He liked the dual weilding grandmaster so i did something somewhat similiar for his ordo malleus inquisitor in terminator armour. He liked the blue armour but wanted it toned down a bit, so ive done that.

I spent about 3 hours maybe on the conversion work. His psycannon is a bunch of little sliced up bits all reglued together and then filled in with green stuff to smooth the joins.

hope you like him

Here's some more. There's a tiny bit of red glazed onto the face - I love the evil fallen paladin vibe im getting from it.

Sorry if the pic is too big.

Great work I plan on getting GK's down the line, all the models look fantastic, how did you give them that blueish tint on the armor, was it a blue wash or what? if so what color to be exact?

Thanks

It's started off with carefully airbrushing vallejo blue ink mixed with a little metallic. Then i take asmuren blue mixed with a little metallic and smooth out the transitions a bit, this is not used as a wash, I use it only as a glaze. The brightest metallic spots are made with glazes of mithril silver. Recesses and shadows are painted with blue ink, black ink and badab black.

Hot stuff, thanks for awesome pics as well. Great positioning of colors on each model, as well as against the bases, it makes a really nice vibrancy.

New grandmaster with converted needler rifle and flail. The cleint wanted somewhat of a carbon copy of the other grandmaster I did (posted earlier in the thread) only with a few changes.

Some new terminators. The client wanted to keep the cost down a bit so i went through them more quickly. I think they still came out great.
Each one needed to have a hammer and Psycannon. I had a bunch of spare hammers in my bits box and I converted the psycannons from power armour psycannons. This saved a lot on bits.

Very great work. Keep it up.

Awesome Knights, however, am I the only who, while very nice looking, doesn't like having rust on their armies vehicles. Wouldn't they take better care?

These are amazing. The blue tint is perfect in my mind. It gives the somewhat boring idea of just regular grey colored Grey Knights a new twist. I am starting a Grey knight army and I would kill to have them painted like this. I even love the painted ones with the red hue. Do you think you'd be able to do this with the color white? or would that not come out right?

Many people seem to prefer a clean look. I have a psyfleman with forgeworld autocannons sitting in my studio that I have not gotten around to painting. If I can find time I will paint it in a cleaner style.

I think it is possible. You would need to have the boltgun metal and black as your shadows and the white as the highlight on the metal. I have already been doing this effect on metallic power weapons and I really love how it comes out:

The same technique could be applied to the grey knight's amour.
