Grenadiers with all their options can hit 250 pts easily.

They're guardsmen without a proper transport, and a short ranged weapons.

Astorath lists are the lists in which you can spend the most points inside a single foc without using units which does not use foc space (are there even units left which do this? Spawns and Lesser Daemons are both gone and I can't think of any other, you can take more than once per HQ).

On topic:
Normally I would say Possessed, but since both types of Daemon Princes are nearly the same now regarding points-to-power-ratio and even if he is a FMC he is still not that killy and imho never worth the up to 300 points.

I sunk almost 500(maybe more, it was a while ago) into a WL and some thunderwolf cav that managed to kill all of half a squad of warriors.....

on the plus side they did survive 3 turns of having his ENTIRE army save like one squad shooting at them. My lord made it to the lines at last to get cut down by that squad of warriors but not without taking a few out himself

Oh! and My cousins monolith is ALWAYS a points sink for him. It comes on the board. I shoot. It dies never doing any damage 9 times out of 10. But he likes em so he brings his one lol

Warboss in Mega Armour
10x Nobz all with power klawz, and a mix of shootas and cybork bodies
Painboy
Battle Wagon with 4x big shootas and deathrolla

comes to......825 points

This gives the unit a shed load of S8 attacks, 5++ save plus FNP on top (4+ back in 5th) and the ability to put some wounds onto the Warboss if needed with his 2+ save.

This unit used to be able to soak up a stupendous amount of fire lol

ive found the full squad with 2 marker drones apiece to be a bit of a point sink took, but only because of their limited range. I had 30 shots against a squad of 5 plague marines and i couldnt even manage to kill one. which was soon followed by a chase around the board and some lucky assault rolls that wiped the squad

I've never heard anyone call nob bikers a glass cannon. Those things are fething tough.

T5 W2 4+ cover save is not the attributes of a glass cannon.

well against str 10 barrage stuff they tend to die a four cover save isnt enough for instant death tough the warboss carries on.

Str10 barrage? Aside from "da big one us orksies want ta steal da most" that IG have wth has a Str10 Barrage? In fact the only barrage i know of that actually IS used that ignores cover (remember, if it doesnt say Ignores Cover the barrage rule does NOT remove Exhause Cloud as there is no line of sight based cover involved) and has the AP to go through biker armor is only Str6 so we still get FNP and both wounds. Str10 shots are kinda rare and if they exist they even more rarely are massed enough to cause a problem for bikers.
Theyre fething scary. Ive used them purely as a scare tactic before and didnt even do anything with them, they just sat there going "You wanna go diz way? T'ink again brah" noone wants to tango with them if they dont have to.

I cant remember the name of the Necron unit (im bad at remembering names for other races i dont own) but i ran a joke game with someone at 1750pts and he took 4 models that tally'd up to ~700pts total. A 30 man Death company squad, one squad of 30, not three of ten, with dual thunder hammers, and jump packs, with Lemartes is 3000 pts. even.

The worst I played against was a Blood Angels LRC. It had 5 TH/SS, a Sang. Priest, a Librarian and a Chaplain. I admit, to my nids it was unkillable... It's a good thing I immobilzed the Raider and assaulted it with gants, preventing him from diesmbarking!

I then proceeded to table him, except for his 700~ points of Land Raider/Termies.

Because it represents the inaccuracy of a shell being shot into effectively a dust cloud. Hard to lock on.

Same thing that lets the KFF's cover still go through - the target is obscurred so the dude firing goes "I THINK HES THERE!" *wiffs his shot* "DAMN! i missed..."

Its kinda weird, it feels like there should be 2 kinds of cover saves. Things like Jink should be on their own as its not technically a cover save its a defensive maneuver - they just gave it cover save rule to avoid confusion

The biggest single squad I've seen is a squad of SW terminators 15-strong with arjax and grimnar. Was actually apocalypse, though, but you could do it in a regular game as well.

But just being expensive doesn't necessarily a points sink. To me, a proper points sink has to both cost a lot AND be relatively worthless for what you pay for.

The biggest one I've come across is still...

This. Death Company in general are just too damn expensive for what they do. Either you give them jump packs (putting them at 35pts a model) or you give them a Land Raider to cart them around in. Either way, you aren't getting an effective unit for anything less than 400 or 500 points.

Chapter Master w/ Artificer, Thunder Hammer, 5 man Honour Guard squad w/ Chapter standard, 4x Relic Baldes, and an epistolary Librarian with a plasma pistol.

All in all, 615 points, thrown into a Land Raider for 875 points. Average game contribution; they all die, accomplishing nothing.

My solution: Add vanguard veterans to the army, they're clearly what I'm missing!

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.

You fools have never seen a 100% decked out IG infantry platoon.

How insane is it?

x5 HWS's: x3 lascannons and krak grenades = 550pts

x2 SWS's: x3 demo charge a piece - 190pts

x50 conscripts with SITNW = 275pts

x5 infantry squads: Plasma gun, lascannon, krak grenades, vox caster, Sarge with PW, Plasma Pistol, meltabombs, and a commissar with power weapon/ plasma pistol. Don't forget your dedicated chimeras with dozer blade, hunter killer missile, camo netting, extra armor, and pintle mounted heavy stubber. 180pts per squad + 120 transport=300. x5 for 5 infantry squads equals 1500pts

PCS: Heavy flamer, medipack, platoon standard, plasma gun, krak grenades, with commander chenkov and a commissar with Power fist, plasma pistol= 225pts +another blinged out chimera at 120 = 345pts

So, the Imperial Guard can take a troop choice that costs 2,860pts, and fields 133 models (counting each heavy weapon team as a single base) with 6 light tanks.

Bear in mind that is ONE TROOP CHOICE. We would still have 5 slots left over
