Entered it, thanks!

Imagine the feeling when you position your tanks, engines idling, landing gear deployed for a low profile, with firing solutions along a key bottleneck. Then some fether lands a dreadnought behind them in a giant heat shielded coke can.

Yeah, I could always use the other three starter sets as gifts (I really only want the Rebs and other goodies. A hunnerd an' a half? I guess I can swing that.

How do we do that? The email Mantic sent out in their newsletter had no links to the contest...

I thought that was silly as well, but did find it as a link on the BGG home page.

yeah... oops on their part.

i suspect by work in progress they mean clean up some of the details on the models and sharpen it up... not changing entire arms and legs at this stage... they;re covering the fine detail.

if they increase the size of the legs by 1.5 it would be perfect.

Too bad the last question on the BGG contest has no answer. All the other questions were easy, but after searching all the pages I could find for any keywords that would answer the question, I've found nothing. Diddly squat. Zilcho.

Is that the question on the Marauder exosuit manufacturer?

If it is, then, yes, there actually is an answer for that, quite easily found.

Got all 6 right, and yep, found the answer to the exo-suit manufacturer pretty easily.

I wouldn't say "easily" found. I only saw it in one place. What's the difference between getting and missing that question? 9 entries versus 13 or something?

11 entries rather then 13 (2 entries per correct question plus 1 for entering), so not the end of the world (I got it wrong as well).

So it finally started loosing some steam, that's a really good start, now the ball is back on mantic's court to generate enthusiasm.

I am expecting some interesting streachgoals.

I would imagine that would come later. KS has larger dips in the middle of the campaign which would make sense. they're only 4 days in after all.

its not the middle dip, nor I was referring to that, it is the loss of the initial steam, I believe whatever streachgoal (almost) mantic had in the past days the result would roughly be the same, hence it was clever for them to do the terrain tooling strachgoals that early, I am expecting from now on the streachgoals to have more of an impact and need more consideration.

Haven't seen anyone disappointed with the ogres or golems, in fact I've seen lots of people happy with them.

And 90% of the complaints about the werewolves consist of over a dozen posts from Bob about their nipples.

I like cathorse, the issue with regular feline anatomy is that it isn't designed to hold a rider.. one of the reasons why the GW mournfangs look so odd.

Anyway, my point is, on the whole, most people who have backed Mantic Kickstarters are pretty happy with what they've gotten.

Ummm... Wait abit... Gotten?! I havn't gotten much more than the rulebook, counters and dice?!?

Yes, but not everyone backed at the "none of the current stuff" level.

The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

I'll back up Squiggy; I've been fairly happy with what I've gotten minus one minor bit of shipping damage (but who ever likes to get that on anything?).

This one is very tempting, especially for the terrain. I (sadly) don't care much for the Enforcer captain, though I do like most of the rest of the models in that line. Never cared for greenskins though, and 3rd gen plagues aren't grabbing me so much. Still on the fence, but it does fall during a convenient enough time in relation to pay day, so I'll be watching this one.

They said Alpha rules will be out at some point during the KS, not 100% sure when though yet.

Today seems a bit slower, either today or tommorow for some more add-ons would be great.

Dreadball had an average of nearly $300 pledged per backer, so people are definitely willing to expand their pledge if the right stuff gets offered.

Yeah, the pace it's moving today add-on's are going to need to start being added. I think they road the initial push as far as it's going to take them. Now add-on's to pull in more streches which pulls in more peeps.

Dreadball and KoW both had 2 for 1 extra choices for $25. I think beyond terrain, if crews were available (without stretches) at 2 for $25, lots would sell and boost pledges to higher levels. Looking at the add-ons available, I don't think Mantic is going to do the 2 for $25 deals. Why offer a Ripper suit for $10 when you're going to offer a 2 Ripper suits, 2 captains and 8 basic marauder grunts for $25? Without the higher value of add-ons, I don't think pledges at the levels near what dreadball had is likely.

By the ways, I think that if the 2 for $25 were offered, many people would basically build an army out of these (enforcers and marauders seem particularly expandable, and forgefathers if they became available would be popular too).

Think I missed it, but is this like a "regular" skirmish game where buy buy starter sets and rules and everything separately (but bundled for the KS) or is it a big box set like Sedition Wars?

Necros, there's both. faction starters like a tradational skirmish game and then a boxed game that bundles it in all together.

I think it's a bit slower because of the Dwarven forge ending, robotech hasn't moved much either.

We don't know how many different ways it will be released post-kickstarter. There is some hint in that the "scientist" level is called a boxed game that comes with 2 factions, board, terrain, etc.

It's likely that post-kickstarter there will be a starter box like "scientist" and maybe a few other starter deals, a few faction boxes, and most everything also being available a'la carte. Take a look at Dreadball for an idea of what this will probably look like.

This is of course all speculation....

You can get starter faction add-ons for $35 now. Not too bad. Although I started thinking 'Oh, I'll get one of each' which, well, would be a bit silly. $140 for all 4 starters, or $150 for a second strike team.
