Tuesday is typically the slowest day of the week on kickstarter I've noticed this on a good few KS now most people think it's the weekends but Tuesday is usually slower check last Tuesday lowest day of last week. This should take off tomorrow with the terrain I have $250 in so far but only $173 of that actually allocated I have about $200 to add just for terrain if the price is right.

I was referring to the dropped pledges, not the lack of new pledges. I thought it was weird when people decided to walk.

Could be a possibility that some of the people that are "walking" are just jumping over to the SWM Kickstarter before it ends in a few days. That's a total guess of course, but it's a possibility.

Been a very bad Tuesday as well. The kickstarter has been moving between up and down between 350k and 352k for the last 7 hours (may have been earlier but that's when I first noticed it). They appear to have been gaining a lot of new backers but also losing older ones judging by the number of early birds that have been popping up. I wonder if some of them have been leaving for 'All quiet on the Martian front'.

Should see a massive boost tomorrow when the terrain launches though.

Edit: too slow at typing messages on phone so some of this ground has already been covered.

I'd assume other games are normally the cause for most dropped pledges. KS is great, but it is starting to cause a slightly bloated market.

The main reason I'm staying away from the KS page is so I don't try to make up the difference of the dropped pledges. It's too tempting to push the total back up to the thousand mark once it drops below it.

I'm not sure I want to bother commenting on the KS itself (and be swamped amid all the repetitive posts of a certain name) But I'd welcome an upgrade of the cardstock counters to something a bit more durable and less likely to be damaged by, say, younglings' saliva.

Nice acrylic counters like other companies have a knack for would be sooper nice.

They have hinted pretty heavily that this will be a stretch goal down the line.

Anyway, slowest day in a while for Deadzone:

Tomorrow, starting at 11 EST, we should see the beginnings of a record day though!

(Fingers crossed!)

That's what I'm thinking Alpharius. I am having supreme success convincing sisters/sisters-in-law to grab recon and strike team pledges for their husbands and kids for Christmas. Not only is it a great hook-up to let my sisters spend far less on gifts, and the kidos still get a lot of goodies, but this game should make a great tool to "throw-down" as sports become harder with all our knees and backs starting to feel some wear and tear.

Post that in Update 23. Best place for it to get seen.

There are still 20 odd days left before it is over and I am not sure what tier to go for. I have to imagine there are others that plan to back the project but just aren't in a rush.

Strike Team, mate. You get one of EVERYTHING.

Earth Dragon. I'm holding on to an EB Recon, but will upgrade to a Strike Team soon, want me to let you know so someone in your family can grab it?

Couldn't hurt brother. Just tell me when, but if they miss it, it is what it is.

I appreciate that.

It is likely a combo of a slow Tuesday, a lot of people waiting for tomorrow before pledging and the usual mid-week pledge fiddling that goes on. With so many of us being in at Strike Team, I think quite a few of us are waiting a while before going wild with add-ons, because so far we get everything.

Mantic Kickstarters often seem to have a relatively lax start but ramp up considerably as more stuff gets in. I think that their reputation for this (and the large number of EB pledges) caused that initial insane rush, but we wont hit that "ramp-up" phase until tomorrow (well most likely). Many of those who would have pledged yesterday may be holding off to see what the terrain pledges and add-ons look like before jumping in. So all the usual pledge fiddling that goes on every day (and it happens quite often) is having a larger visible effect today because it doesn't have the usual pressure behind it.

Considering what is getting revealed tomorrow, I think this is more akin to a tsunami pulling the tide out before hitting than any kind of actual slowdown. People are just biding their time to see if there are an EB pledges I guess (even though I think it is quicker to change an existing pledge than to start a new one, so those already pledged will probably get there faster if they switch). Terrain is the main add-on almost everyone is waiting for and is like why average pledge pledge amounts have stayed so steady. But that will change as we get closer to the end and people settle on the add-ons they like. I know I've barely put any in on add-ons so far because I'm holding off on terrain and FF stuff. But with a recent influx of unexpected cash I can see me going far with this once the stuff I want comes out (probably not Warzone levels though... ).

Is HI Hawai? Dude... that's awesome.

Just tell me when they are most likely to be able to go on the net and pledge, if it's not during class time or bunk time, I can manage it.

After the acrylic counters in Dreadball, I was surprised not to see them in Dead Zone.

Maybe some 3D counters in restic. ?

That and the AQotMF KS starting today, there were a few pulled pledges, most likely redirected to that.

It makes sense for the "bare bones" game not to have them though. Helps keep the initial goal as low as possible. I bought the upgrade for Dreadball and hope they have them here as well!!

Pray tell, what does AQotMF stands for. I only have weird things coming to mind.

All Quiet on the Martian Front, from the guys that did Fanticide. I pledged to that one without dropping my Deadzone pledge.

Im actually thinking of dropping my Strike level and going for the Assault team (I saw that a earlier early bird Strike level opened up so I grabbed that and in so doing had my initial pledge taken.)

Not sure how many others (if any) did the same as me.

Mantic's amazing customer service probably isn;t doing this kickstarter any favors. In previous kickstarters, I added on as much as I could afford just in case I never got another chance at them. For Deadzone, I've just got the sweet spot pledge, which I know will not disappoint me because this is a Mantic kickstarter, but I'm not going to add any add ons until I see sculpts. I know Mantic will let me add them to my pledge through the manager later if I like what I see.

I just saw this linked over on TMP and it looks like it'd be perfeft for Deadzone, aesthetics-wise.

It is kind of weird that they will suffer for their generosity like that. But it seems like a wise course of action, given that Mantic can still be kind of hit-or-miss.

Of course, if everyone follows your lead, everyone will get a lot less stretch goal freebies.

Those a pretty nice, and with international shipping at no additional cost. I'm in for a Bioprocessing pack.

Those do look really cool... but i'm still counting on Mantic to come up with something special terrain-wise. If I can throw another $100 at Mantic, and get enough modular terrain to cover a modest gaming table, and it looks 90% awesome, or pay $75ish for one small, one-floor building that looks 100% awesome... i'm going to have to go with Mantic.

Today's terrain blowout should be very revealing.
