yippee - ok, here comes the update - setting out the road map to out to $800k -with a few images (we have to save something to keep tomorrow exciting!). The first goal is to be to get through $728,985 - which was our previous best - and then - to infinity and beyon.... - oops sorry wrong IP!

I hope the roadmap helps kickstart this Kickstarter!

Its already in the tail phase. The last few days are double the days before... coupled with the amount raised, it's already a great success. Is 728k the previous high for a mantic KS?

Edit: Oh good... they're doing rebs before Marauders for the boosters. We'll probably get both, but I was more interested in Rebs I think.

Things just got interesting pledge $400 or more for a unique posed resin Rebs leader, pledge $500 or more get a unique posed Gen 1 plague in resin and they are pre survey totals anything added in the survey doesn't count for these so they are trying to stop people holding out for the survey - well I'm covered over $500 now

Awesome update, loving the Rebs heavy weapon team even if the Sphyr has a pedo smile, he will make ask that girl to hold his "rocket" at some point, its gonna be awkward.

Now that Mantic have comfirmed theres going to be a survey (ala dreadball/KoW) I think I'll stick to strike team ($150) but tally it up to a neat £120-£150 ($180-230odd) just as extra for later. Not to bothered about the resin 1st gen and rebs commander, although it is an intresting idea on Mantics side. Strongly considering replacing the reds commander with a custom one-off sculpt should I play them, would be a nice way of keeping my force unique.

Acrylic counters are locked in and we're already heading past them to the Plague booster. With two hours left before Kicktraq ticks over this should make for a pretty good day (already nearly $28k for the day). That should make an appreciable dent to allow us to score the Plague tomorrow (and possibly even Blaine). Things should pick up even more when reminders go out at 48 hours to go.

Already in for ~750, yay for freebie action poses on two already nice minis. Really hope the rebs booster and solo play get unlocked. I solo a lot in MMOs, why not in tabletop games ; p

The resin reward levels have a Kingdom Death "Herald of Death" vibe to them - nice!

Friday should see the accelerated pace move even faster, and Saturday and Sunday should see this thing break $1M - IF Mantic's got the plans in place.

Yeah, and if they get some crazy/nice long-haul stretches like light vehicles, or some other craziness, all the better. Hopefully they will get the EU factions sorted (could use a couple more models) and boosted while they've got the momentum.

Wow, over $30k in today and almost at $710k. We should snap up the Plague booster pretty quickly if things continue at this pace. With this one being so front heavy I wasn't expecting a big boost like this until the 48h mark. Glad things are picking up a bit early.

And I think I will probably be going in on this for $500. But to assuage my recent super-spending in Kickstarters, I am going to take a break and attempt to buy things that exist right now after this (been eyeing a couple 15mm forces and I should have enough left over from all these extra hours to make it happen; it will be nice with the TW expansion getting released in the next month or two). Well, at least until Mophidius runs the Mutant Chronicles KS, then I am going to make my wallet cry again (at least RPG KS campaigns tend to be more laid back).

I think we should be able to pull off EU boosters before the end of this thing. But I guess we wont know until we are standing atop the $800k mark and overseeing the next mountain to climb.

As in really, really, really don't like them.

The core game right now (and Warpath) could REALLY use an alternate sculpt for the second leaders. In fact this is something people have been asking for in the kickstarter comments section.

Why have Remy spend a week sculpting an alt 1st Gen and Rebs Commander (and you just know both of them are going to be better sculpts than the originals), only to the throw the moulds and greens in the trash after 50-100 casts?

Complete and utter waste, throwing away good models that could build the line (in a company that could really do with building its line) for the sake of a marketing trick.
Something that GW is quite fond of doing.

The point of putting money into kickstarters to help the company expand its own model line.

Throwing away the kickstarter cash (and more importantly, excellent sculptors) on limited-edition marketing gimmicks is NOT what it's for.

Remy should be sculpting something for the core retail line, not spending a fortnight making an alt 1st Gen that is going to be thrown in the trash after 50 casts.

I won't post further on the topic since I know I'm holding a minority opinion here (which isn't going to change, FYI), just felt the need to mention it.

I don't know how minority it is, but I will say that it has been my interpretation of several statements by Studio McVey that they felt that all of the exclusives they produced strained them for little to show for it.

Frankly, given the somewhat slipshod quality of some of Mantic's sculpts it seems pure folly to have a popular piece like the commanders be in limited numbers.

If it was purchasable, perhaps.

Incidentally, that strikes me as the greatest problem with comparing to KD:M's Herald of Death promotion is that there were not exclusive bonuses to being a Herald. I would seriously consider buying an alt version of the Reb commander, but given the KoW fulfillment, working off of concept art alone is not something Mantic does that inspires enormous amounts of confidence...

From the Urban War range, lovely sculpts, perfect for this.

Bit pricey for troops but perfect for characters.

I could see a few Reaper scifi minis finding their way into the Rebs' ranks, as well as homebrew mercs.

I'm all-in on this one and will be getting both of the LE models. I agree that it does seem a bit silly to "waste" the effort. At the same time, exclusives are part of what get people to pledge NOW and not later through the manager, which pushes stretchgoals.

Hrmph, I'm just going to float on in my newly reformed bubble of optimism and let things fall as they may, just REALLY hope they come up with a rebs list in the next 60 hours or so.

Actually, I'm happy to agree with pretty much all of that. And since due to my not having a bottomless wallet, there's no chance of me getting either of these, especially given the "pre-pledge manager" nature of it. The point that Mantic and Warpath really need good models is one that is far more pertinent to Mantic than to GW, which can afford to have some great sculpts as LE ones, since their range has so much depth (even today).

The thing I find most interesting about it is that $400/500 models seems to be the exact opposite of the speculation that Mantic were deliberately putting the brakes on this campaign by managing the stretch reveals in such an ...interesting manner (along with ending KoW at the same time!)

I think it would be hilarious if Remy did these limited sculpts, but the actual Rebs range went to the stretchy-nun guy. It would be just like Mantic to use the worst sculpts for the core of the army and place their best works into the eBay recasting machine.

On the other hand, if they switched it and 'Mantic'd up' their exclusives, I'd be all over that schadenfreude.

Whoever wins, Mantic loses. It's the Mantic Kobayashi Maru.

PS: Weren't there supposed to be hard plastic Enforcers by now?

A lot of people said the same thing in Dreadball. Me included. Mantics eventual response was they could be bought later on with Mantic points and at shows. Maybe if we press they will say the same thing?
