Yndij Hunter!
Update #86 · Jun 2, 2013 · comment

Well what do you know – that’s the Corporation and the Plague Strider locked in!

Up next:
$1,065,000 – Eddak P'mera

The twin moons were both full, casting stark shadows across the quiet remains of what had once been a busy loading bay at the Nexus Psi spaceport. A year ago this would have been bustling all 26 hours a local day. Now all was quiet. A lone sentry shifted his weight from foot to foot, scanning his assigned sector and trying to stay awake while his comrades snatched some well-earned rest.

Silently, unnoticed, one of the shadows slowly changed shape and merged into its neighbour. A gust of wind blew some loose papers across the open space in front of the sentry and for a moment he was awake, but only for a moment. It was rubbish in the wind. Nothing to worry about.

The sentry relaxed again and once more the shadow moved, always slightly outside his field of vision. It was as if the darkness itself was stalking its prey.

This darkness was the Rebel scout, Eddak P’mera. The sentry hadn’t spotted him yet. Probably never would. Humans were so inattentive. Without turning, P’mera signalled to the rest of his squad who slid silently out of the shadows and began to make their final approach. He would use his crossbow to take care of the sentry…

We will sculpt and tool Eddak P'mera, the Rebs Named Character, and make him available to add-on to your pledge!
$1,080,000 – Bjarg Starnafall

From the press release:

“Designed specifically as the premier equipment for the discerning modern scout, Hammerfist orbital drop armour is a fully enclosed, self-powered, autonomous survival suit. Its main use is to protect the wearer from serious environmental dangers including (but not limited to) exposure to hard vacuum, micrometeorite strikes and solar radiation – all common workplace hazards for the lead scout/prospector in today’s competitive resource-farming industry.

A secondary function of the Hammerfist design is to protect the wearer from indigenous life forms whilst performing his prospecting duties in the field. The inbuilt mining laser doubles as both a robust core-sampling tool and accurate ranged weapon with both burst and duration selectors as standard. Easily controlled manoeuvring engines allow the wearer to navigate in zero gravity or planetside with equal ease, with a duration in standard use of up to 4 days (depending on onboard supplies).

The Hammerfist has been tested under the most rigorous of conditions and the widest of environments without any reported structural or mechanical failures. Reliability is 100% and every suit comes with a lifetime guarantee.

Bjarg Starnafall says ‘I’m never without my trusty Hammerfist’.”

If we hit this goal, we will sculpt and tool Bjarg Starnafall – a Forge Father in Orbital Drop Armour.

Add him onto your pledge!

That Bjarg concept art is amazing. I hope the model does it justice.

Their digital stuff (and most of the FF line that wasn't a kitbash of KoW stuff) has been on the money, so I have no fears on that front.

Also, only around $11k until today beats the first day total!

Huge fan of digital after the Dreamforge KS, glad they're using it a lot... sadly not all but what can you do.

Dwarf in orbital drop armour? I would have added $8 for that without having seen the concept art, just on the basis of the description

Orbital Drop Dwarf. That is really cool. Looks like an even heavier version of the Forge Guard armor. I'm really curious to see how big it'll be. I might have to plunk down for him and the Asterian Breetai once the manager hits. I can't wait to get some of these figures. Cerberus Enforcers, Imperial Guard Forge Fathers, Afrika Korps Marauders, Browncoat Rebs, Tron/Bioroid Asterians... these are going to be fun.

Not an huge fan of the giant shoulder pads on the FF drop armor. I can live with them though. The rest of the concept looks awesome.

The Enforcers at least were modified digital scans of Remy's work, if i remember correctly. The DB Robots and the mech are 100% digital though, I believe.

Their digital work is definitely getting better and better but still has some weird posing going on.

Badaboom, badabing – that’s a new scenario added to the Nexus Psi campaign!

Welcome to all of our new backers and thank you to all of you for supporting us!

Next scenario is in 500 backers time – please tell your friends there are now less than 4 hours to go!!

Not only that but that’s Eddak in too - goal smashed!!

$1,100,000 - Marauder Stuntbot

An older generation Strider combat suit, the Stuntbot is piloted by a single dextrous Goblin who, with a fully enclosed set of armour and a big gun, suddenly isn’t that frightened of getting into a scrap.

If we hit this goal, we will sculpt and tool the Marauder Stuntbot in resin and make it available for you to add on to your pledge.
There's still more to come - let's keep this baby rolling!

Well looks like another $20 of my discretionary pre-pledged amount is eaten up (unless the rebs get something cooler later on). Now to find something to drop the last $10 on and my whole $701 pledge will be accounted for.

I'd love to get a stuntbot (or three) but I'm afraid we might not reach 1.1 mil.

Have you seen the rate this is moving at? I went for a shower, came back 20 minutes later and another $15k was there.

Heh, don't think I have the extra $49 (though I may be able to do it if I see something I need). Basically just dropped my whole budget in to the pledge amount and decided to sort it out as they day wore on. After accounting for all my bits, I had $30 left over that I have been earmarking for different things. If the Forge Fathers get another LRV before the end, then I may throw caution to the wind and do it. But for now, I think I'm good, even without the book.

Drat,

I can't get the numbers to add up with what I need to spend in the next few months

(note to boiler makers, old boilers seemed to last forever, why do newer more efficient ones just die? grumble, grumble)

so sadly I just can't make my pledge here work, sob

oh well there's always the warpath one whenever that happens

I would drop the barrels and crates, they can be had from many different sources. Mantic needs to maximize the elements that actually plug into the connector system.

well, almost up to the orbital drop dwarf. I guess I'll be adding him after the pledge managers come out. So, it looks like when this is over, I'll be adding
-$45 zombie bundle
-$8 drop dwarf
-$8 Breetai Asterian
-$8 solo AI deck
-$20 Corp. mech

So, that'll be $89 is post-KS add-ons in addition to the $280 I'll be spending now. Not bad.

Plus, it looks like I'll be completing the Asterian and Enforcer factions. Are any of you guys completing any of the factions?
