@meangreenstompa -
You are a little off. Customer service is set up to "take care of issues". People speak up just as much if they like something to friends and in a forum discussion as they if they don't like it. Of course if you are the "bring your problems here" guy you are going "hear" those complaints.
So this a prime case of apples and oranges.

All other comments aside - the Tau trailer was more exciting. Though there is obviously a limit to what can be done with fantasy models (not so easy to do Infinity trailers and just add gunfire effects).
I must say, the new models are quite cool. I mean, intensely daft, but it is called Fantasy for a reason. They also look fun to paint, which is basically the main point of a model for me. It looks like Flight may be the USP of the High Elves at this point, which is quite interesting.

$50 for 10 Shadow Warrior models.......Not a chance. WAY too rich for my blood.
I thought the point of plastic troops was to give them to us at a better cost. I bet I could find metal minis at a similar cost.

Yeah, $50 for the Sisters of Averlorn might make them a pass. :/ They and the shadow warriors look interesting, but that's too rich for my blood since it's doubtful 10 models will be enough for a unit.
The Handmaiden, even as a finecast, I'll probably pick up.

Interesting stuff.
so they're not the maidenguard as originally thought. Does that then mean we can expect the maidenguard in a latter wave?
As for the trailer, my problem with these little GW snippets is the fact they look so bloody cheap and amateurish. In a world of viral marketing they're really not helping themselves.

Do we always have to get these discussions about "it's a teaser that doesn't tease anything!" whenever a video gets released?
The point of a teaser isn't to make it so individuals who are uninformed of things can instantly go "Oh! That's what's going on!".
The point of a teaser is to get you to take notice and to draw your attention.
If you were not an individual who frequented forums and was aware that High Elves were next, what would you have gleaned from this "teaser" without reading the associated text bit from it(which if one were to read and have the barest knowledge of Warhammer Fantasy would cause the teaser to immediately tell you what it is in regards to)?
You would get that an army is being released for Warhammer Fantasy. There is a fiery bird of some kind, and it involves a faction that is associated with "an eternal battle" and "courage"--and that the faction is a faction of Order rather than Destruction.
But really. The title of the blog post today("Reborn to Fight Anew") and the associated text blurb ("There's something on the horizon - something fiery, something fast. Warriors of the Warhammer world, ready your swords and raise your shields, for a mighty power will return to the Old World on April 27th.") would spoil the heck out of this teaser to someone who is even remotely familiar with the lore of Warhammer.
This would be a good point, if:
A) We knew that a significant portion of Warhammer buyers did not read about Warhammer on the Internet, and
B) We knew that these trailers reached them and
C) piqued their interest in the upcoming army being teased.
We might be able to just take A) as read, but I'm not so sure about B). And in the case of C) for this video, I'm extremely doubtful. The Tau teaser at least showed something that was unmistakably Tau. This just showed a quick-moving silhouette of something flying. And it's apparently skillful. And it's an enemy of the servants of destruction. Now for those of us immersed in the lore, it's pretty obvious what that points to. But it may not be clear to people who don't know the lore of multiple armies.
Another problem with this teaser compared to the Tau one: The Tau, while it really only showed us glimpses of a single model, it still showed us attributes that suggested what the Tau as a whole were about: high technology, ranged weapons, jet packs, mono-eyepiece helmets/robot heads, etc. You can glance at any shot in that teaser and say, "Okay, this is what Tau are about." The High Elf Teaser doesn't show us anything about the high elves- only what they are opposed to. When I look at the teaser for HE, I don't know how GW conceives of the HEs. I don't get a sense of what the army is about. All I know is that they made a flying monster that GW apparently wants to sell the crap out of.
That's a bad teaser.

NOOOOooooo 'Its awesome news' oooooooo!!!
Damn it, I've started painting my forces now,, and I made the joke to Geoff as I was picked up the Skaven and Empire ones two weeks back at the local GW its a shame they don't seem to be doing them anymore, but its probably a good thing as I'd only see a character unit and want to rebase my entire theme around them.
It is awesome if GW start doing them again, but curses, who knows where my army will go now.

The part you're missing is that Shadow Warriors are reputedly a "Core" choice.
