Space Marine. For some reason, I've not really played anything else on my ps since I got the internet at home.

I enjoy Dawn of War.

I hammered Rites of War back in about 1999/2000 as well. The most fun part is my army in tabletop is still pretty much the same collection of units as was on that game. :/

This.

Storming the 40k version of Stalingrad with nothing but waves upon waves of PDF troopers, Commissars and Basilisk artillery in the back was so awesome.

Urgh I hated Rites of War. The only decent thing in it was the opening cutscene of the Avatar. There was no reason for it to exist as a computer game at all, it just felt like a rubbish board game with some figures that did the occasional idle animation.

Terrible!

How boring would life be if we all agreed on everything.

What was yours?

I mentioned it the post before. - Final Liberation. You had the FM cutscenes, the campaign map warfare - the Ork counterattacks, being able to run into and out of buildings with your infantry.

Oh yeah... And Titans.

I won't say Space Marine was the "best", but it was my favorite, and the most approachable for new fans in my opinion. The story, gameplay, and multiplayer were all fairly well done, and even the music and overall atmosphere of the forge world were impressive. I'm really hoping a sequel is made for it...

As for Firewarrior...that's just plain nostalgia right there! Running around with a Rail Rifle and killing CSM by the bushel?? Heck yeah! I actually discovered that gem at a local used game store, and couldn't pass it up

The version of Fire Warrior I've got came with a slight bit missing in it....

All the voice acting.

So you felt that strongly about the game Rites Of War, when I mentioned it and said I played it getting on for 15 years ago, you couldn't control the urge to come back on the thread and tell me how bad it was. You really didn't like that one

I only listed it as a dig about how old some of the eldar sculpts are

The original dawn of war series is the best, I've put a lot of hours into those games.

Next:
Space Marine, because it was awesome
Space Hulk, because it was my introduction to 40K and good for the time.
Final Liberation, because it was pretty good bar the glitches.
Dawn of War 2 because it's probably good, but I can't seem to get into it.
Fire Warrior, because that game just wasn't fun.

What I would do for a remake of Space Hulk...

You know a remake of the tabletop game coming out on tablet pretty soon, right?

There's trailers and stuff on this very forum.

Final Liberation, though if I must pick from the limited poll, I'd have to go with Space Marine, which did a damn good job of showing you what a space marine is capable of.

Yeah, Final Liberation. Chaos Gate a distant second.

Retribution, without a shadow of a doubt. It could have been better sure, but it was still better than any other 40k game.

I've only played Space Marine, but damn that's an awesome game. One of my best 40k-related memories is playing that for the first time, hitting the trigger and hearing the bassy, booming crack-thump of Bolter fire and thinking 'Hell yeah, this is going to be good...."

I really liked space hulk. I enjoyed dawn of war in my mid teens but my lastfor ggames with depth made me dislike them.

But space hulk made me feel like I was playing the board game again. Awesome for multiple players.
