So I got the IOB set -1 rat ogre (don't ask) and I'm wondering where to go from here, and I need help cos I need a reliable 2000 pt list for the youngbloods throne of skulls in august. So far my list is as such
L&H:
warlord with 2 CCW, fencer's blades
warlock engineer with warplock pistol ,halberd and skalm taking the lore of ruin
master moulder
core:
20 clanrats with spears, full command and warpfire cannon
20 clanrats with hand weapons, full command and poisoned wind mortar
special:
1 rat ogre
am considering:
warplock jezzails
stormvermin
2 more rat ogres (you can never have enough punch)
Warp lightning cannon
so what is your opinion- help me dear dakka reader- you're my only hope!

How are you taking lore of death? Its been awhile since I've read the rules on magic weapons but if you buy the Ogre Blade you don't count as having 2 ccws I believe. You need about 200 slaves

It says he cannot have more than one magic weapon. Does this apply to normal weapons too? If so i'm taking fencer's blades.
I normally take lore of death as they have a spell which can effectively nullify the effects of okkam's mindrazor, which is deadly used on HE (my usual opponent) and some very nice damage spells too.
Are slaves worth it? At only 2pts each, they can be fielded in huge numbers but i think a quality not quantity (i.e stormvermin) approach might be better

Skaven don't have the option for lore of death.
You get to choose between plague and ruin. No other options.

Im newer to skaven, but just a few key points.
1: Rat ogres really are poor, i hate to say it since i love them alot, but they really are bad.
I'd convert the one you have to a bonebreaker for your warlord.
2: Skalm is ok, but keep in mind the engineer only has 2 wounds, so chances are he will die before he gets to use it.
Main thing you will need is more bodies in the list.
Skaven rely on huge units (i really would think about around 40-60 per unit)
Most skaven armies in 2k are running over 200 models with ease.
Stormvermin - Love them, they are pretty damn good, more so when your lord is with them.
Might be worth taking a BSB in that unit aswell.
Jezzails - Again, ive tried to love them, but they really arent all that good.
I run 2-3 units of 5 of them and they rarely earn points back, they usually just try to take down monsters or heavy armour.
Warp lightning cannon - Love them, they really are worth taking in a list.
Will be your main go-to for taking down anything big.

Right so stormvermin-good, bonebreaker- good, lightning cannon-good.
Thanks so much-maybe now i stand a chance!

Jezzails are amazing in large numbers, played against a list with twenty of them, it was brutal

Personally I would have 2 warp lightening cannons. Never done me any harm having two lol But I also run a screaming bell too.
Also I'd consider giving engineer the doom rocket just for laughs and upping your clanrats numbers, as a rule I take a minimum of two blocks of 40 at 2000pts.
