Potentially the strongest unit?
The Big Mek with his trusty Shokk Attack Gun.

What's that? I'm sorry, i can't hear you over the sound of your best unit getting sucked into the warp.

The Vendetta averages 0.75 pen a turn against a Heldrake. Two thirds of the results greatly diminishes the threat a Heldrake poses. What's up with everyone only judging anti-tank stuff by how many hull points they cause? There's a 25% chance the Heldrake will simply cease existing. Try regenerating that.

I judge it by hull points because there's the chance is more around 16% factoring in the invulnerability save. Sure, it CAN happen, but it's not something to be relied on. I mean come on, a single plasma pistol shot CAN destroy a Heldrake, but realistically.... What you can rely on however is the Heldrake's Baleflamer messing up a bunch MEq (or lesser units) before the Vendetta can even try to intervene.

It's 25% WITH the Invulnerable Save already taken into account.

cause when you least expect it, your super bad character will roll a 1..and it will usually be a grot that kills him.

My Deathwing would agree with this. Unfortunately for them ... lol

Edit: I just googled ablutions and apparently it does not including dropping a duece. I should have looked it up early sorry for any confusion. - Baldsmug

Wait, what were we talking about again? Did I ever tell you about the time I gave you five bees for a quarter? That's what you'd say in those days, "give me five bees for a quarter", is what you'd say in those days. And you'd go down to the D&D shop, with an onion in your belt, 'cause that was the style of the time. So there I was in the D&D shop..."

Reminds me of a game I had recently when I lost more DW to boltpistol fire than everything else combined.

guys, its clearly that the best unit in the game are gretchens, with bs 3 pistols and ws 2 on top of that no ork can top its superior shooting abilitys

they are so good that its universal that no one would ever play them, so that is why you never see gretchens in games

I would assume it would be the most expensive unit in 40k, but I don't know what that is.

The Grey Hunter: Cheaper and Better than a vanilla marine with no drawback that matters.

Heldrakes and Vendettas are also things to throw fits over, and a properly kitted out vulture is a cruel thing to deploy against those lacking in AA.

Best at trolling: Nurglite Decimator Daemon engine. What is this "dying" you speak of?

Vanilla Marine ThunderFire Cannon.

It is totally worth the 100 pts.

try one in a game. You wont field your marines without one from that game on.

ig and legion space marines get that same thing, but ig get it for 50, legion get it for 60 and they both come in squads of 3, so for ig you could have 9 artillerys shooting 36 st 5 ap 5 small blast barrage shots that they must pass pinning test on -1ld ( same with space marines but 10 points more, because space marines are shooting it )

You beat me to it. Can score, has rending at initiative, rerolls all ones a single combat per game, can charge and take charges like champs, can have TDA wearing sergeants too. Grey Hunters are simply the strongest unit in the game.

just fought a list that had a 8 man unit, sarge was in tda armor with a power sword and a heavy flamer, and the rest of his grey hunter replaced their bolter and bolt pistol for combi weapons and they where all in drop pods, so 9 drop pods full of combi weapon grey hunters with 2 long fangs with missiles on each

That's Wolf Guard, not Grey Hunters. If Grey Hunters could take combi-weapons, holy gak, they'd be the most broken thing in the game. Unfortunately to get WG as troops you have to pay a 275pt tax to get a rather average character (for the points cost).

north of nowhere

Codex: Nillamarines
Unit: Shotgun or BP/CCW scouts
Reasoning: When you run a squad of 10, combated into 2 LSS's, they are overlooked. Then, you assault from the LSS into a unit that is now at -1 I (including meq's) after shooting them with assault weapons there is little that will go two rounds, ive only lost to PW spam (vanguards, GK) or assault-oriented units (genestealers, AM) and to date they have wiped a guard blob, 3 5-man dev squads, 2 10-man tact squads (20 shots then another 20 attacks before retaliation) 3 solodins, and a shoota boys 20-man mob. They have been the best new unit and hidden gem ive had in a while.
