Well obviously you budget for this and Robotech this month, and worry about Deadzone in next month's budget

That's crazy talk!

I could use a display board for my warlord games Romans, might have to increase my pledge and pick up a rolling hills display board

As promised, here are more of my very basic Excel layouts.

Layouts 16-18 use more than 16 x2 (+4) tiles, and 17 and 18 highlight the "Race track" problem with having so many x-sections and t-junctions and also what happens when you have no corners.

Nice, I also agree that the need for a 90 degree corner becomes even more obvious with these being shown.

What's the reason for not having any 90 degree bends? At least as an add-on, or something?

Ruined Temple - Updated Concepts
Update #45 · May 8, 2013 · 6 comments

I'll just leave this here....

As we pare down the options for "Ruined Temple" you can see the tiled flat surfaces emerging, more options for the foundation tiles, and a lot more character. At this stage the concept art still looks busier than the final designs will be, but only so that it's easy for the designer to pick out the elements we're going to use. This is still all about options, and not yet finalized.

For instance the desecrated graves would be about 3" wide (76mm) and 6" long (150mm) if you went by the sketch alone. The reality is that they'll wind up much smaller, of course.

But today is Wednesday -- and every Wednesday I take my son out for an adventure, so there probably won't be another update for a bit. We're off to the warehouse for a brief visit (I need to cut a complex mold for the crew), then around to the train museum I suspect. Or the Lego store. I look forward to returning to another COMMENT EXPLOSION!

Also another Ruined Streets tile:

The temple concepts do seem a lot stronger now, will have to resist upgrading my pledge!

Agreed, not all cohesive yet but they're not meant to be, just different concepts. Give feedback here or on KS if you've got it!

Yes.

I'm in for the 4x8 table.

Is that only the Clean and Ruined Urban that let's you mix and match?

Is it only at the 4x6 table support level?

If I want to get some Ruined Temple pieces to mix in with another set (say Urban, Ruined), do I need to grab a 4x4 to go with my 4x8?

Thanks!

The 4x8 Table is two 4x4 Choices. Only the 4x4 and 4x6 need to be from one tileset.

So you could get Ruined Temple and Urban Streets with a Wargamer (4x8) Pledge

Ok, those tiles have me convinced...I'm IN!

Two 16s plus a Deadzone display for more blanks.

I'm in, snagged a $50 EB that opened up and will be enjoying my nice new deadzone board.

Considering my initial posts in this thread were highly sceptical, it just goes to show how well this has been run.

Hmm... I really like those ruined urban tiles... but now the obsessive compulsive in me comes out, and I start wondering if the change from ruined to clean will look at all natural.

I can go 2 sets of clean and you can go 2 sets of ruined if that helps.

I think he means from one tile to the next. Like if making a damaged section of the otherwise "clean" board, will the contrast between a "clean" tile and an adjacent ruined tile look too abrupt.

According to the kickstarter calculator, you can't add 8-tile sets to your pledge, nor wall sets other than scrapyard. Is this correct?

You cannot add 8-Tilesets, All Tilesets are 16 Tiles.
All of the Wall Sets are the same price during the Kickstarter.

Does this end Sunday night or Sunday early morning? (Eastern Standard Time?) For some reason I can't seem to find that (always have trouble, is the only way to know looking at Kicktraq, or...?).

If Sunday night that'd make it more like 4 days left... if Sunday morning, closer to 3.

It's at 225K with the rest of today, Friday, and Saturday to go. My ruined temple display board (240K) is a shoo-in =).

Hopefully the full Ruined Temple set (280K) makes it in, we'll see!

Personally, I'd rather see the trenchworks tiles before the temple tiles.

70 Hours....
As we enter the home stretch I've seen a lot of chatter in the general comments about how close we are to the first "Ruined Temple" goal -- and it's so close we can all taste it. AND IT IS DELICIOUS!!!

How close though?

If everyone right now backed for a Display Board (or another one) we'd unlock the full "Ruined Temple" theme and have room to spare. That's pretty close!

We're working furiously on new renders and concepts for you -- and hope to have new pieces to show off shortly.

This is the big push and the final hours are always madness. Harass your friends. Harass your enemies. Bore your non-gamer friends with stories about how helping small businesses helps fight terrorism! Okay, maybe not that last bit.

But please help get the word out and we'll be ramping up on this end....
