Sorry didn't notice you answered some kroot questions already, is the Fire Warrior requirement still there though? Also do they have a save included in their stat line now instead of paying for it?

To be fair, all of what Ravenous D has posted has been in line with what i've been able to glean from the rumours threadnought. Just wanted a couple of specifics on the riptide, can wait until my own codex arrives for an in depth look.

Sigh, there go my hope for kroot calvary.

Kroot hounds are 5 pts each and you can take 10 per kroot unit, they move like beasts if that helps.

Krootox are 25pts and are 3 per unit.

Kroot come with 6+ saves, shapers just give Ld8

6pts base, +1pt each for the sniper rounds

Vespid are 16pts each, gun is 18" , 4+ save, ld 9 from the strain leader (ld 6 otherwise)

I feel like kroot with sniper rounds behind an ADL would be really good. 7 points for snipers? Yes. Against tyrannies orCs in general that's insane.

They wouldnt get the stealth for aegis though it only works on forests, but still for 7pt sniper rifles with a 4+ cover save isnt bad, only 24" though.

Apparently they will be showing up with a Kroot Merc list in a new Allies Codex next year, I doubt such a thing will happen but I continue to pray/believe.

And can the effect be used from inside a vehicle (i.e. If the Ethereal is in a Devilfish, could the Burst Cannon and attached Gun Drones get an extra shot at half range)?

Can you choose to fire the Ion accelerator in over charge (not nova charged) mode any time you want? Is their a range penalty to overcharge or nova charged?

Its just different fire modes and the ranges are the same in all 3 modes

and sms is Rng30 S5 ap5 heavy4 homing (ignores LOS) ignores cover

Etereals get IC, stubborn, all units within 12" use its Ld, gives up 1 extra VP if he dies

The auras is the invocation of the elements, it works on all models in 12", at start of each ethereals movement phase pick one ability and it lasts until the next movement phase the abilities are:
Calm of tides: all models get stubborn
Storm of fire: when firing with pulse weapons (including kroot rifles with pulse rounds) you get an extra shot, this does not stack
sense of stone: feel no pain 6+
Zephyrs grace: can snap fire after running.

both fliers come with 2 seeker missiles. Seeker missiles can be fired like a hunter killer missile or fired "for free" from a marker light. Besides that the sunshark has a missile pod and interceptor drones.

Aun'shi has no save, put I noticed he had a shield or something in his equipment. Wondering what that does.

So the flyer missile pods are the same as the suit missile pods?

The Ethereal special character comes with a shield generator, 4++. He can choose to reroll the save if he's in a challenge.

The non-seeker missiles are normal missile pod stats - strength 7 ap 4.

The Dawn Blade is insane Strikes at initiative (5), AP 2, Armourbane.


I have one more question. Does a Drone Controller work for ALL drones in ANY unit? For example, a Crisis Suit Commander with a Drone Controller and 2 Drones joins 3 other Crisis Suits, each with 2 Drones. Would all 8 drones in the unit use the Commander's bs5?

Yup, drone controller says he uses the highest BS drone controller in the unit. So you could technically have 7 crisis suits with 14 missile drones, with farsight and a Commander with 2 more missile drones and a drone controller, then arm each suit with 2 missile pods and you have yourself a unit that has 32 Bs5 S7 ap4 shots and 28 bs3 shots.

And the missile pods on the fliers are the same as the ground ones.

Does the fluff contain any explanation for why Tau are battle brothers with C:SM?

Still havent gotten to the fluff yet

And it reads exactly like this: "where a weapon has two point costs, the first is for a standard, single version, and the second is for two weapons (counting as a twin-linked weapon of that type). A twinlinked weapon counts as two choices from this list."

From the way I read it, I CAN buy another single fire weapon if I wanted, worse comes to worse buy 3, there is nothing stopping that so I dont see why do would be a problem.

please post some info about the flier. I am still on the fence about getting that.

Also do you have to take a devilfish to take path finders still?
