I just went to the GW websight and my babies are gone. The black templar tab is gone, you have to search for them now. So unless they are getting pulled for a surprise reveal (not likely) Im betting on my templars got rolled into the space marine dex

which is terrible. I also dont want a broken white dwarf update like the deamons got and just turn the army into an ultimate cheese machine.

Ive been playing tempalar almost since they came out and it pains me to see them written off. but hey, the gray knights were terrible for a long time and look at them now....o wait nevermind.

You could get a full Sisters dex.

ouch.....in that case ill pass. Ill stick with my overpriced marines that I find fun to create a huge black hoard of angry power armor wearing marines running across the board screaming things about witches and your mother.

Rumor(One of the writers was quoted) from summer 2012 said that GW were in the progress of writing a new codex.

I think Hastings said somewhere in the News & Rumours board that the design studio was on the fence as to whether Templars should be their own seperate book or included in the Space Marine codex. Maybe they've finally made their decision.

This sucks, I fell in love with Black Templars a year ago but I've held off buying them until they got updated. Maybe they'll actually be properly represented in the vanilla marines codex? Foolish optimism, I know.

they are in a tab on the bottom of the Space Marine tab, so it looks like your rumors may be true.

Two reasons I highly doubt BT will get rolled.

1. 6th ed BRB specifically mentions Templars, and gives a specific Codex title, if they were going to get rolled I'd think they would have been a little more concise.

2. Why would GW roll all of the Loyalist Codexes together when they can sell us one army at a time? Did I miss something and GW start to care more about their player base rather than their pocket books? Why sell us one book when they could sell us five?

Templars have always been a sub-tab of Space Marines, as have Dark Angels until recent.

Maybe its an error, maybe its a restock, maybe its an update. Who knows? Why are we panicked about this? Chances are that none of you ever intended on ordering from GW anyway, and until we hear otherwise, Templars are still a valid codex with plenty of models in circulation.

If they get rolled into the blue book I feel they will be like the white scars, raven wing and salamanders. potential for a great book but GW decided ehh....more blue marines.

Also if the templars have a good (dare I say OP) unit it will be spam city. like vulcan (not OP just always there) people dont run salamanders with him they just want super melta spam.

If they wanted to roll us in with any dex I feel the blood angle dex rules wise would have worked better. besides all the nipple armor and flying land raiders. fluff wise it would have been terrible but hey, look what GW did with the necron fuff....gahh

Ravenwing aren't even in the blue book.

White scars get actual bike troops, which is surprisingly decent.

There's more Non-Ultramarine SC's in the 5th dex then there was in 4th, not to mention several UM related SC's got relegated to being normal (Sternguard used to be UM Ultramar Veterans afterall)

Necron fluff now rules.

The Salamanders is a common balance issue, you'll always have something really good in a book. (Heldrakes for example)

That is true. Ive never seen the white scar army work out well (ive tabled it about 3 times)

Oh those poor necrons.....went from being an old dex you would pull out for and giggles but now all I see with it is power builds.

I played the old space marine dex, I dont remember the tyranic war vets having more than wounding on a 2+ bolter round. I did love the disciplines in that dex tho, added great depth too the dex.

Right now the emperors champion is a cheaper captain truthfully so I could see him being a special character that unlocks some unit as troops or changes rules around.

I can still hope they get their own dex and resume their never ending crusade tho

I can understand why you'd be sad about them getting rolled in together, but if anything Black Templar will gain from that. I mean yeah you'll lose some character to your army in the transition, but Salamanders, White Scars, etc are all very well represented with just the Vanilla Codex. Still, I hope you don't lose your army's "special" status...

Black Templars are in a tab at the bottom of the SM section, this does not mean they are getting rolled into C:SM, Dark Angels were also in the same place until their new codex came out, right below the BT sub tab. So stop worrying until we get some substantial information from the rumour mill.

this is true, im taking you didnt click on the tab tho. said tab is blank.

were you planning on buying said Templars?

No, sword brethren are horrible. Its more trying to figure out what the lack of models and codex under the tab means. yes you can still search for them and find the dex but it is missing some of the special characters.

Like I said, either its an error, an update, or a restock of product. Who knows? The book is still valid, there are.plenty of models in circulation, and the sky is staying put.

GW would do better by making legion of the damned a playable army to fill the shoes of black space marines. Now those guys look cool.

Considering that one of GW's best books is about the BTs, it seems highly unlikely for them to be Squatted.

More than likely, it could be an update. And heck just make BT!

Well we did just have a non IoM codex. Perhaps BT are next. They are the oldest IoM codex, followed up then by vanilla marines. I'd say either they are next, or rolled into vanilla and C:SM are next. But who knows such things for sure other than GW.

I do hope they don't get rolled in, I know I'd hate if my DA ever did. But if they do, well I guess I could finally start playing them again, since I play C:SM and DA, and the only reason I don't also run my army as a custom BT codex anymore is because I already run with two books.

Welp, time to start up the LRC and take a drive to HQ. Got 14 other seats open
