I really want to field a Tau Commander with the Onager Gauntlet but I'd like to make the wargear stand out. My first impressions have been to put blades from a Kroot Rifle on the fist Wolverine Style. My other idea is to use a powerfist.

What suggestions or ideas do you have for modeling the Onager Gauntlet on the Crisis Commander?

Back on topic. What about a bomb gaunlet type thing. An englarged fist with little bomblets studded along the knuckles so that when you punch something it explodes!

Hows about a black rubber glove (think darth vaders proctologist)....

I was thinking about building one. I assume the Tau reverse engineered a powerfist or used tau tech to mimic it. I see it like the daedalus maneuver from robotech/macross. Giant fist covered in shield generators and trying to punch through a terminators chest.

Neither.... Anyways, I've decided that I want to repose the commander (which I don't have yet) to make him look like he's winding up a punch. Here's a shot of 5 cuts I think I can make to achieve this:


By rotating his hips to the opposite side, changing the orientation of his legs and feet, I think I can make him look like he's punching with his left hand (assuming there's a fist bit and/or my Onager Gauntlet). What do you think? Is it reasonable? My reposing experience is very limited.

Honestly, figure out the Gauntlet part first, I think his current pose would make it look like he's punching anyways.

There was a star wars novel I read a few years ago where a group of force adepts used gauntlets made from starship plating. The gauntlets where disk shaped and they would project the force around it, you could make something similar just with an energy field. Kind of like a disk shaped power blade.

How about something like this?

You will only have to cut the ankles. The waist and hips are separate pieces.

i think something a little more Halo Energy Sword would fit with the Tau asthetic: retractable Plasma blades?

How about an impact triggered fusion vambrace. When the fist impacts with the target the vambrace launches a short range fusion blast that melts through armor

I think it's more similar to western mecha punch-spikes, or reductors apothecaries use.

Bot hi-tech Halo or Starcraft style cc things would be nice too.

Have you ever played Halo? you can walk up the biggest guy you fight and pne-shot him with an Energy Sword. If thats not S10AP1, I dont know what is.

I think it would be fun to have him grabbing another figure lifting it up and having it half melted, and then painting it like he white hot where the gauntlet grabbed him. I love space marines for this purpose.

Just paint his fist in Captain Falcon's colours and be thrilled you can now shout "FAAAAAAALCON PUUUUUUUUUNCH!" everytime your commander punchs a tank to Oblivion.

I think like IHateNids has said the Halo Energy sword would best suit the Tau asthetic.

I think a Crisis Commander with that would have been learning from O'Shovah a bit!

From memory, the armour suits in Bubblegum Crisis had a series of shaped charges embedded in knuckles and feet that could be triggered on impact to increase the power of CC attacks. A slightly beefed up fist with protruding charges would look pretty cool.

The real life Onager was a down sized ballista, maybe an energy crossbow on to the guys forearm?
