Georgi Readman, 18, of the Isle of Wight, U.K., refuses to eat fruit and vegetables and exists solely on packaged noodle soup, a snack that often contains high amounts of fat, saturated fat, and sodium. One package typically boasts 400 calories and 20 grams of fat.

Readman, who is 5'3'' and 98 pounds, told the Daily News that she became hooked on the noodles when she was five-years-old and her mother still buys her packages by the dozens. She estimates eating 30 miles of noodles per year and the thought of eating anything else makes her sick.

“I hate the texture of fruit and vegetables," she said. “I can’t go to my friends' for dinner or go out for meals because I don’t want them to see me freak out if the side salad touches the stuff I eat. Mum goes to the supermarket and brings back as many packets as she can afford. I always fancy noodles and could easily eat two packets at once. I’ve even eaten them dry and uncooked before!”...

...Readman could not be reached for comment but according to her doctors, she is malnourished and has the health of an 80 year old.

"That sounds like an accurate assessment," says Lisa Kaufman, a pediatrician at Village Pediatrics who has not treated Readman. "A diet of instant noodles has likely wreaked incredible amounts of havoc on her organs. The body—especially one that's still developing—needs protein, minerals, and nutrients to grow; that's just basic common sense. Without it, this girl has probably suffered stunted growth and IQ, osteoporosis, heart and kidney damage, and high blood pressure. Her lifespan has likely been shortened as well."

Kaufman adds, "Kids would eat ice cream every day if they could but it's the parent's responsibility to broaden their palates, introducing various foods and textures to them."

At 18 years old, Readman's eating habits are so ingrained that it would likely take a major mental and physical overhaul to improve her health. "In order to get off the noodles, she may need hospitalization and an education in nutrition," says Kaufman.

Ugh, that's pretty gross. Even when I resort to eating a noodle bowl type thing, I always at least bother to stir-fry up some veggies to go along with it, at a minimum.

Uggg, this is horrible.

I'm wierd about textures but this is rediclious.

Of course, it does make you wonder how long, say, a properly nutritioned and fully developed adult could survive on nothing but Ramen. Could an adult, who has had proper or average nutrition, live on Ramen for years on end without major side effects?

Naturally its bad if you lack nutrition in the early years but after major growth is finished what is the limit.

Not that anyone would ever volunteer for such an experiment, you'd have to get someone crazy to do it. Ramen's ok, but no sane person is going to enjoy it for years on end.

Well, that's what the label says. I'm still not certain that's what those are.

I'd hesitate to label them veggies

a couple peas, carrot chunks, and corn pieces don't really count IMO.

I wonder what she drinks, as that could make all the difference in the world for her diet. Dieticians tell me my diet is insane at first glance, then when I tell them what I drink on an average day they get somewhat less flabbergasted.

That's weird, my doctor has the opposite reaction when i tell him what i drink....maybe i SHOULD try Canadian club!

Half the teenagers buzzing around the house have weird diets. I do believe my boy exists on ribs, fish, popcorn, chocolate, protein bars, and milk. Seeing as he can bench press a Buick I guess he's doing ok.

Genghis Connie has a big container of Nutella "hidden" in her room she likes to munch on. Team Wienie would like to help her with that...

Yeah her future should be measured in years at best. Personaly i did use to survive on plain pasta and marmite sandwiches but then, meh thats me (i once downed a bottle of calpol as a toddler and suffered no worse than i would if it had been a bottle of water except my mum wasnt impressed).

Someone sweriously needs to do something like, say remove all the noodles in the house, supply much healthy stuff and if nesciary force feed the healthy stuff. It may sound OTT but in this case something needs to be done and extreme measures are called for.

Frazz, don't let the dogs anywhere near chocolate, especially not that stuff, it's got a very high concentration of theobromine in the concentrated cocoa, it's likely to be lethal, especially in little dogs.

Y'know, I can understand not liking texture, Heck, I dont like texture of most fruit or veggies, that is why i make smoothies out of them, easier to down and they taste great.
Only veggies i cant stand are Aspargus(Its slimey) and Brusselsprouts.
