All the more reason to get one in the kickstarter campaign, for those who can. If you can't no worries, but I agree that it may be out of your price range later. So jump now if you can (or ask for it for Christmas, since this ends then ).

If DZC was bigger at my store, I'd go in for one of the boards with some of the guys at my store. Unfortunately, this product was being touted as a $100USD 6x4 board, so even if I missed the kickstarter I wouldn't feel too bad about missing out on it because 100 dollars at some point down the road isn't terrible for a pre-made board, but 200 bucks puts it firmly out of the impulse buy range.

GamesNGears wrote:
Core base price is 110.00GBP.

Which is more than the advertised "$100USD" that showed up on facebook. I understand that reality sets in and costs are more than expected, but you could have warned people about this before the kickstarter.

MSRP is what people will be buying these at beyond the kickstarter, so for those of us without the cash to dump on it now, it's a bit of a kick in the balls, especially now that many of the early birds have dried up.

Edit: The MSRP talk was added to this post instead of replying directly to GnG's post because I've been accused of flooding this thread multiple times and that it could be considered spam.

That's MSRP. Not KS price. 110GBP is less than 200USD (175.00USD approx) and 2000 available, at the end of the day even at the MSRP approx prices we do not know anyone else who does 6 by 4 at a better price than that. . Also we stated an apprix MSRP price weeks ago...

It's at 62.00GBP less than 100USD!! at the moment. We think those who back/invest in us early deserve awesome rewards and also enough chance for many to get it. Because of this tooling is paid for and we are funded.
errrr we posted the EB rewards well in advance... which are all limited...

But we reiterate Ritides last statement .

It been crazy good, thanks you guys here who have backed us!! much respect.

The stonework in the medieval village's streets look very smooth, which makes the whole set look off. Would it be possible to 'rough' those up so they're less uniform?

edit: Also, any chance some brushes get added as extras? I've heard great things about them.

I'd like them to remain smooth so I can use regiment trays on them. I like the function over fashion aspect of these boards.

How about they change them so it actually looks like brickwork?

I'm fine with it being smooth on the top level, but that pattern is jarring because it looks so unnatural when you compare it to actual brickwork.

Doesn't need to be really rough...just more irregular. Just add a little texture to the stonework - it shouldn't affect movement trays at all.

I think the Anima Wars designs would look cooler if the edges / curbs of the roads weren't so razor straight, as was pointed out earlier, since it's hard to have a cobble road with such a straight border! And that could actually be adjusted without needing to vary heights / add texture, which I'm not sure is possible here. So, something to consider

Also, pic of the 5th Anime Wars board that was unlocked is shown in the update (will paste below). The second pic is color coded to indicate the height of features. Looks great, I'm definitely in for this one and the DzC one!

Also, 600 backers and second stretch goal is down, next one is the fifth DzC board design

Is it possible to change the brickwork on the fantasy/steampunk boards. It really doesn't look right.
The cobbles are good.

Nabbed (is it still 'nabbed' when there are so many and they're still available?) an Early Bird, but unconvinced really, I don't really see myself using any of the designs regularly enough to warrant the cost.

Are there pics of the 28mm city tiles yet? That's probably my most likely option, but a description of 'like DzC but wider' isn't good enough.

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

I am astonished that they didn't include some kind of generic board as part of their initial offering, you'd think that would drag in all sorts of people.

they did that the first time they ran their battle boards kickstarter and it didn't fund. (in fact, people asked for non-generic designs)

i think that's why there's so many tie-ins (hawk/dzc, anima, etc)

but i honestly like these a lot more than their original boards. i already have generic green and grey and desert mats... i want some sci fi stuff and some medieval stuff!

Agreed, judgedoug. The only one I wish was more generic is the hellscape, just a scarred and broken landscape would have been preferable, I think.

But I really like the Anime Wars board, obviously, and the DzC one has been fantastic for me just using paper tiles- will be awesome to have it in hard plastic, it's a great design.

I am not getting past the pledge page. I put in my card details and it just goes to the top of the page - tried it with two cards and both are good. Am I the only one having issues?

Mmmh, I was just booking in my place but it looks like there is no need after all. Despite promise a plain generic board suitable for historical and, well, any game really that wasn't a stretch goal I am not seeing it - unless I am just missing it.

That sounds like maybe you're missing out some bit of info it wants (or you've given something in a format it doesn't recognise)

have a careful look to see if this is the case

(the UK site only supports visa, mastercard and american express not the full range that amazon payment takes...... are your cards ok?)

I have triple checked everything. Both cards are definitely OK. I wonder if there is a block on international usage - that has caused issues in the past. Thx for the input.

@fullheadofhair, you may need to contact your card issuer sir. Might be a security check and it's been locked. Thank you for your intent to pledge

Some question we cannot confirm yet here. But when we can we will. Promise.

Should be released in a week or so. For road width check the Anima board. The depth will be 3mm as opposed to 1mm for the 10mm scale version

@GnG

How far behind are you on website queries at the moment? I sent a message trying to give you more money, still waiting on response.

(Not being funny, only sent it yesterday afternoon, just as you're here, and I'm a little twitchy as stocks are low)

That's either an amazingly swift response or the most amazing coincidence I've encountered for some time, either way, thanks!

Our brush line will not be part of the KS. It is now in the general public release domain. Once all pre orders per product have been dispatched normal delivery times will resume. Thank for you the sentiment though . Although it is a sure money maker by doing it, it is not something we will do.

The reason for this is that our Brush lines will be shipped to stores soon and distributors and are available on our webstore . The KS for brushes and the backers helped us make it happen and bring new products to market like Masters Hybrid brush Series and Hobby Gears Paint Rack which was the result of the success of after KS and also the creation of our webstore. If you do want to purchase our brushes and brush care products please go to www.gamesandgears.co.uk. thanks!

The same strategy for our Battle Boards KS, re-invest grow and bring more products to market, which has only been possible with the amazing community support, so thank you and we will keep trying to give back in offering great prices and good quality products. Each line has to stand by itself and grow, and with your help we can do this.

Hobby Gears Racks should be finished by the end of next week (mass production). Then packing/handling and sending to our warehouses in the USA, Canada & UK then dispatched to you. Estimated time of dispatch end of November. But we hope a delightful surprise if we can do it mid November.

Thanks, what Azreal13 posted. We are nearly done and the custom built shipping box is nearly done too. So end of November for dispatch. (If we can do it sooner we will, but it's on time)

I assume those clips stop the squares from moving horizontally or would they also stop them from moving vertically too?

For example, If my table was 5'6" x 3'6", could I reasonable expect the board to stay together? And could I expect the trays to stay attached to the board if it hangs over the edge?

That is a design feature of the board, it is somewhat buried in the thread, but GnG have given assurances that it can support even quite heavy minis positioned on an overhang.
