I love the Dropzone board but I don't play anything in that scale. If it came in 15mm, I would be all over it.

I would like to see how it works scaled up to 28mm, too. Just saying "like the 10mm, but with wider roads" doesn't quite cut it. I'd like to know how much space is left for buildings and stuff when the roads are that much wider.

The sci-fi Anime board looks fine at first glance but has poor functionality. The design just doesn't look like a good foundation for most buildings. Some of the area looks fine as the interior of a cargo bay or something, but I just don't see any structures except cargo containers make sense on top of that design.

That's quite literally how I see it being used.

Well, I did just receive some cargo containers from rust forge and plan to get the forklift and crates deal from CNC Workshop / Mousemuffins when it's available, so I'm okay with that . I'm actually a little sick of always having ruined buildings everywhere on boards, but I know this is a dominant style of terrain and it makes sense to have a board that works well for it (which the cityscape should do, once they have pics of it to show at 28mm).

Just upped my pledge by £40 to cover the tray starter set.

If you can keep your head, while all about you are losing their's, then you have probably completely misunderstood the situation!

Gotta say, i'm loving how responsive these folks are. Did you guys see the comments, and how quickly they jumped all over my suggestion of making a Deadzone/Mars Attacks overlay grid? Awesome.

I feel really good about supporting these guys. The terrain is a little pricey for my blood, but i'll absolutely be throwing a considerable amount of cash at these guys before this is over.

I was considering that, but I just can't ever see myself using so many trays! At GW stores where there used to be metal trays hanging on the side of tables, people usually didn't stand right behind it- meaning you probably don't want trays lining the whole side. You could put these on the side, which might make more sense, but there's only room for 4 on the sides.

Right now I'm just pledged for 2 "gaming trays" (for 18 pounds together). I asked in the comments what the difference is between the gaming trays and the dice trays- if it's just a bit of felt in the bottom, I'll just get the gaming trays and then see if I want/need to add felt or not (i.e. then I'll have both options).

But it is good to have a discounted package for folks who want more trays- if you were thinking of getting 4, you might as well get 6 for not much more. I just can't ever see myself needing more than 2...

@Ritides, depends on your needs and configuration as you stated.

With some extensive experience on my side. Both dice trays on one side so you can see the dice results. One gaming tray next to the dice tray like this: L for all the mechanical bits (templates, cards, etc.). on the opposite end on the side you place and gaming tray for causalities. So you have 48" of non trays on your side .

Again the important thing to note is that you have a build that is perfect for you. Which you have correctly done!.

Fifth? I thought the stretches were unlocking the last two of each? So that actually means that with 6 themes x2 we need £120,000 added onto unlock all 12 additional tiles - while the initial funding was for £35,000 to fund 24 tiles? Something appears a bit ...odd here.

The update that suggests that " if nearly everyone adds this (Games & Gears Gaming Tray Starter Kit: x4 Games & Gears Gaming Tray and x2 Felt Dice Trays for £40.00GBP (saving you £22.00GBP). deal (in theory) we should smash through our first stretch goal and nearly get to the second stretch goal fast." is more than a little hopeful as well, I feel. Why would most people add £40 for trays when they could just add £62 and get another entire board? Oh wait, they can't. Unless they make an additional pledge with a second account...

Just a few observations...

It is only 2 extra designs of each. Just to clarify, so 6 not 12. Total of 6 designs per theme. Hope that clarifies that . We are nearly half way there to unlocking it all stretch goals and has not even been 2 days! The initial funding goal was for 4 designs per theme, this has always been the case and never different .

RITIDES is correct the fifth design for Anime Wars has been unlocked and will be shown today once the Ninja's have finished modding it!!

Looks like Level 2 Stretch goal will be done today!! thank you!

Yeah,
I originally backed for a single 6x4...
But I want a 28mm drop zone city and a sci if board.
Ideally I want a double set but they are all gone!!!

In the end these early birds are such a good deal I grabbed a x3
I will downgrade if I see a double pledge open up.
Worst case scenario I'll receiving 3 boards..

So excited...
My 28mm board is getting a 40k wartorn dremel treatment.
And I'm planning on making my sci-if board a tau city!

May 2014 seems so far away!!!

Panic...

I've gone in for 1 but now I have to decide if that 1 shall be scaled for DZC (which I am yet to play but have some models for) or just 28mm for everything else.
I really want one of each but.. money..

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

There are 5 themes. (not 6, I stand corrected there).
DZC 15mm
DZC 28mm
Anime Wars
Anima Tactics
Hell Dorado

If each theme comes with 4 tiles each initially, with the last two of each to be unlocked via £10k stretch goals, that's still £100,000 to fully unlock those 10 tiles (split over the 5 themes - so 2 for each theme, "completing" them with 6 tiles each) - compared to the £35k funding target for the initial 20 tiles.

Or you could compare it to the stretch goals already shown - which is £40k to unlock 4 tiles, compared to the £35k initial funding to produce 20 different tiles.

It still doesn't add up to me, but if I'm miscalculating somehow, please correct me, though that's how the numbers look to me ...a little odd.

Wahoo, grabbed a x2 EB that opened.

Definitely getting the sci fi one and probably the medieval one.

I'm keeping my x2 EB, so that's one you can count out . Surprised someone moved out of it, unless they went for x3... the discount is really good so easy for me to justify getting 2

So just saw this ... so it's $100 for an EB board, but $160 for a "normal" board? Is that right or am I missing something?

Huge jump - Good for early birders but I guess they weren't able to nail down that $100 price for normal retail...

There's also an in-between price listed as a Christmas deal or the like, but yeah, it's a big jump! Which is why I'm getting them now in case the price isn't viable later.

Me and my club mates have jumped in early! Got myself x3 set.

to be fair If there were no early birds I would have still jumped in at 160.00USD as additional 6by4s are discounted. Price is still pretty sweet at that level.

Glad they did the early birds though, treated myself with the tray deal and scenery . Awesome KS. Keep it up G&G

It looks like the KS EB backers are getting it probably "at-cost" or slightly above it, whereas the normal price is a small discount over retail.

I would consider some of those 'town' pieces if maybe there was a grid on them or a 1" grid pattern visually available.

I also would like to see 1" dungeon tile which could then have walls put on it.

I dunno, I will have to see if these are usable for what I need. I have some of the other ones coming which seem pretty good for what I need but these are cheap which may be good for 'filler' tiles.

I really wanted to back this.... but after scrolling through the KS, i don't really like any of the boards. :(

It's not that they aren't nice, or quality, they just aren't something i'd buy, none of them really "wow" me enough to merit backing it.

MSRP: £125.00GBP- $135.00GBP approx

so saving of 15-25GBP on MSRP for the initial core price, 30-45GBP if you add a second one, 55GBP for a third and so forth.

WOW, yeah... I don't even know what to say about that... That's a huge difference between this "kickstarter price" and the retail price. That officially puts them out of my price range. So much for the $100 dollar 6x4 boards that were initially announced for this thread.

All the more reason to get one in the kickstarter campaign, for those who can. If you can't no worries, but I agree that it may be out of your price range later. So jump now if you can (or ask for it for Christmas, since this ends then ).

Core base price is 110.00GBP.

There are enough early birds to get in early and get it at a great deal .

More than half the EB allocation gone less than 72 hours, amazing. Some Convention die hards attendees (champions) are kitting their cons out with some cool Battle Boards to on the core price .

Thank you ... it's been crazy amazing thus far... 2nd level Stretch goal close to be unlocked

Does this mean we'll see the 5th Anime Wars tile design in the update, or just that it's approved and you're doing an unrelated update
