LOL... see...good things come to those that can wait...and do careful research

as to that new walkway... looks way wider than all the other, am I right? is it currently shown upside down or will railings follow?...and what is the brownish stuff from?

It is roughly as wide as the other walkways. Maybe 1/4" difference. It is right side up, I just need to find some type of railing to use. I was looking at ho train track and just using that on the sides stood on edge. The brown thing is actually ho scale girder bridge walls. Picked them up way back at the start of the thread when I went to the local train shop. got two sets of them for $2.50 because they were out o package.

I'm making it part of my agenda for the week to go by the pawn shop that I pass pretty frequently. I've never checked them out, might find something cheap there, or realize I have some stuff to sell .

well... with lotsa faith I have entered the pawnshop at our neighbourhood, but every time there wasn´t any useful stuff...and then when my kids got thrown out for just being kids two times by an old grunt that works there... my family is banned to leave any money there anymore... I can´t stand old guys that hate kids...

but good luck nevertheless...

as for the width... it looked to me as if it was wide enough for a LR to pass over...must be the angle then

Must be a job requirement. Like the red shirts at GW. Now I've only been to 2gw stores, but at the first the guy was almost humping my leg to get a sale. The second store the guy was busy humping a leg of a father who brought his son into the store, both of them for the first time. I heard him saying that lord of the rings was a fantastic game with loads of players.....loads is right, just not around here.

New tool from micro mark, might order a set. Sold in packs of 2.

hmmm... I think you could build that on your own...and have it work for you for millennia to come... 25$ is not really that cheap for this set...

True, you could build it, but a couple sets of their brass bar clamps and squares would be more useful methinks, but a bigger investment. Still, it wouldn't hurt to have a set of those.

Did some work on the pillars to try and tick them up a bit. Can't find my regular hole punch to pop holes in the flat upright bracing. But I did find my old 1/16" hole punch to make rivets .

I will probably use these pieces as an elevated train or subway pillar. Might have other ideas later, but that's the first that popped into my head.

those vertical spaces inbetween these already riveted parts i think could do with some riveted plating as well...and i think the round rod you could do to make looking like a pipe...just add some flanges here and there and all is good...

1/16 rivets... i recently got me one of that size too... especially for minis this size is the best... only bested of course by slized rod rivets^^

Will attempt flanges.....giggles...remember reading Dave's old blog about that definition....it IS Mother's Day here after all.

Was working on the rest of the plating after posting the last picture. The black dots are roughly where I was wanting to drill holes to look like unistut.

I like the look of that! More holes for more weathering opportunities.

I've always was. Basic painter and never tried weathering. But end of last year the store I worked at was cleansing some epoxy grout pigments. The quart sized boxes were marked down to $0.10 each and had about ten different colors being discontinued by the store. Asked the boss if he'd sell them all cheap. He laughed and said penny each if you buy them all. I now have a tote full of fifty some boxes in the garage. No idea if they'll work for weathering pigment, but for less than a dollar pft. Instead of watching the boob tube I'll have to watch some YouTube to see how to play with these things. If it works out these run normaly $4.00 a quart and they're readily available all over the u.s. and Europe.

Any powders will work, from chalk dust to ground up Artist's pastels, you can mix them with thinner to make washes, or apply them dry. They just don't have a binder, so you only need to fix them with something. Future or varnish works perfectly for this. Many people are scared of powders, and I don't know why, it's less risk than paint because you can wash/thin it away until you've got it the way you want it. People are just scared of things they don't understand, human nature I suppose.

Waiting in line at the license bureau, I though you saw wild things at Walmart. Lady next to me smells like weed and has fallen asleep a few times while waiting. And nobody can read the signs. No wonder the ladies are so grouchy.

Scientific studies have shown that talking about using an airbrush is 100% less-effective at increasing skill than actually using one

epic mate... simply epic that one!

and theo... you should paint more.... really... i am admittedly not the guy who should be yapping about that but seriosuly... paint!... although... i know fully well that building in nine out of ten times gets you more fulfilling results than painting... but ... well even if one would paint like rubbish... it is still better than unpainted...slightly^^...ach... what the heck... do as you see fit... we get eyecandy this way and that^^

Basically painting is waiting on my wife's job, if she get the promotion, I can afford new paint. If she doesn't then I can't afford new paint right now. Also waiting on a tribunal decision on my unemployment. My former employer is trying to claim I intentionally did something to get fired and claim unemployment. Obviously not the case, but until the state decides my unemployment checks are in limbo. Have had some interest from my applications, but nothing solid yet. Plus the timing just sucks. Painting might help the stress, but the paint colors I need got changed by GW, and if i change my chapter colors life is going to suck.

as for the boss thing... man... seems there is as much of a chance to get a good and trustworthy boss as if to get a good politician...or king...i hope for the best... and i can see how this can affect you ...checks freezed is totally unfair...

Here in Missouri, lawmakers are trying to pass a bill that says if an employer claims the employee acted out of misconduct, then the employee forfeits any chance of collecting unemployment. Businesses flip the bill for unemployment by being charged more unemployment taxes by the state, so every business is trying to claim it each time to save there bottom line. It no longer about taking care of your employees and developing the future, it's about cutting the higher paid employees, and filling the spot with cheaper inexperience labor.

I miss the old days where employees were treated fairly, and compensated for what they are worth.

your country gets darker every day it seems...and some of these tremors are felt even here... what you describe is short of asocial behavior... the poor and unfit are mowed down...we wont see a zombie plaque in our time... but what the current wind hopefully brings is that soon some really evil men will get some severe punishment here on earth... not today...sadly but hopefully not in the too distant future... really this can´t get on forever like this...?!

Vik I think we'll see a reveloution here in the not too distant future. There are so many on unemployment, while companies keep reaping huge profits and the upper management takes an unfair percentage of the profits. Government involvement in keeping people down is also getting tiresome to most and our election system is broken when a popular vote doesn't matter for th presidency.

On another line, I stopped off and finally took those pics I said I would last week, but kids were sick so...

Hope these might help Dave out with his truck build
