the commentors booth looks very interesting... try to get some clear colored plastic to make a "canopy"/glass dome around the booth... to avoid the man being hit by stuff...^^

@dr. H, I'll have to look at the motor again, but it really didn't seem to have anything in it.
@vik, as the field is just make shift and the denizens of he hive really don't give a about safety as I keep getting reminded, I won't be making a canopy for the booth. The commentator just better stay in overwatch or else.
@dave, yep the grill itself was the 1" punch then the trim ring was 1" punch then the 3/4" punch to cut out the center. It's not perfect, but neither s the union that built the underhive.

So where did you pickup the roll of cork and about how much did it cost?

@bbb, I picked the roll up at the local hobby store. It was $14.99 for a 2'x4' piece. Looking at it again I might have been better buying the our packs of squares as they were thicker an have better grain to them. This has such small pieces that I don't think I'll get the same texture as my sample board. Thanks for stopping by

I've seen it at hobby lobby and michaels crafts also, probably would have been cheaper with their coupon, but was in a hurry and at the hobby place for the plasticard.

also... you get cork mat at the hardware store look at the parquet flooring section... there you will find the material to absorb the noise from your steps...this is rougher and probably a bit cheaper than material used for art related stuff...

and...hahaha... but do you still do hazard stripes ?

get the Michael's app for your phone, you can bring up the coupon and they can scan it right from your phone
The ring for the grill looks perfect in the pic! I am impressed and I must now try this ingenious idea myself!

If I lived in that timeline I'd be walking around and saying "oh hazard stripes, this is where the monsters come out, I ain't going over there!"

Back from vacation bible school with the kids, finally got them into bed, now to work again.
Pump rooms for both teams (dead and injured area for bloodbowl), need some scenery, so a few old pill bottles and plastic bits later.

I like the idea of two tanks in each area, probably side by side, but they also look good laying down.

Comments, questions, and ideas are always welcome.

Warmill has "silos" that are laid on their side on bracers or supports, they look pretty good for inspiration.

Thanks shaso , think I'm going to have them upright. The metal bands round them will be welded on, no rivets on them, but there are rivets at the top on the lids. Also used some old oil refinery kit that's been in my bits box. How does this look for initial layout for the one wall.

So I think I have the basics of the pump room layout complete.

And a top down view

Think I'll mount some sort of stabilizer legs on the tank still.
It still has plenty of room to pile up the corpses in it for game use.

Thanks dr.H, will work on the tank legs later. Had an idea for another bulkhead.

I'm loving this 1" hole punch. Makes perfect sized cuts foe everything. I think I'm going to start building my figs with the bases upside down as 1" is the correct size of the base bottom. If I ever made a display board then the punch could cut out the exact spot for each model on it.

Oh yeah, do it.
I found that the kind of card that is used for paper plates (literally in my case) was thin enough and strong enough for the job.
Cut a circle to the diameter you want.
Cut a slit that doesn't go all the way to the centre and then another directly opposite so that the circle is almost cut in half except for a gap in the middle (I think mine is somewhere between 5 and 10 mm, but the size is up to you).
Then decide how many blades you want and cut slits as evenly as possible to divide up the circle (I actually used a piece of tubing as thick as the centre gap to make sure they were all even, although drawing a circle in the middle would work better).
Once they're all cut, twist them all in the same direction (but not too far) and then use superglue to set and strengthen the centre and blades.
Add a disk or dome to the centre and mount as you see fit.
Job Done.

@shaso, thanks, sometimes I have a terrain bug hit me, sometimes it's models. Never know which way the chaos gods will try to tempt me.
@Dr. H, decided to try a quicker solution with just the hole punch and cutting four sections out. I think it gives it a more industrial feel.

Fan blades separate.
And fan blades in place.
